hi guys, ..... is there a way to change the N80 SMS font size..... thanks !
Posted by *dust*
Hey Guys, do one of you know where I can find or view a pic/photo of the contents of the N80 Sales Package??? Just wanna make sure I got all the acc in the box. My N91 had a list of contents to look for but I don't see anything like that in my N80 manual. The Version on my N80 is
V3.0617.0.6
03-05-2006
RM-92
Nokia N80 (02)
How new or old is this firmware? Anyone else here have the same? I've had it restart on me once and it only gave the memory low message once. since I got this phone, my N91 is feeling a bit lonely. I can't put the N80 down and the display is so smooth compared to the N91. I think I'm in Love

no "go-to" feature in e50... crap.. and another question, if i browse with opera and wanna save an image, it saves it in "negative" form, not in the normal one. why?
Posted by *dust*
Thanks for the features of the new firmware and als the list of acc. I love this site, I've never had the same response from any other forum. Thanks Guys!!!!

Guys, are E-series phones for discussion here as well, or do I go start another thread (which IMO will be a waste). If e-series are welcome, can we have the thread topic changed to "Nokia Series 60 3rd Edition" or something similar?
Posted by BobaFett
e series are here welcome aswell
Posted by OluYom
@boba: all 3 are GPS-positioning tools. You can receive weather reports and location info based on your... well, location.
I have had no need to use any of them on my E61. By the way, I hope to update my E61 firmware tonight from the Nokia Update site. Wish me luck

how can i access those features? it constantly wanna have a bt connection.
This message was posted from a E50-1

Hi Boba,
I'm not sure but i would think it is asking for a BT connection to a GPS device for the tools to work out where you are.
Marc
Posted by BobaFett
yeah, that was my thought aswell, but if i have a bt device, that one has got probably the offered features aswell, so its pointless to have e50... or did i miss sg?
Posted by shug
Most gps units don't have a user interface. Mine just tracks the satellites and displays the information in the java program 'Nav4all' on my phone.Nokia have recently bought a mapping software company and these are 'triail' apps for the present.
Posted by BobaFett
any e50 uesrs here? can the side key ( right side, above the text input ) used for any other shortcut, then for contacts?
Posted by BobaFett
i downloaded lately opera mini to e50, all fine, but if i wanna store a pic, it shows in negative... weird... any idea why? i mean, when i go to download this image, there are several options offered ( pic is shown normal ), u know what i mean, then i click it and the negative pops up...
Posted by bugsiiy
now that is weird? it does that with every pic?
Posted by BobaFett
i never had this bug in no other models, neither nokia, nor any other brand

what does "suffix" means at contacts?
Posted by *dust*
Well Suffix means something that is added behind something else, I'm not sure in which context it's used on your phone though
By the way, does anyone here know the latest FW for N91??? Thanks.
Posted by BobaFett
could somebosy pls test me opera mini on any 3.g. symbian fone? try to save a pic, whats happening? tia
Posted by Dogmann
Hi Boba,
As much as i would like to help you out there is no way i am putting that on my phone.
Marc
Posted by BobaFett
how comes?
Posted by Dogmann
Hi all,
Re cases for the N93 my Krusell case arrived today at long last as they had been out of stock. It is the N90 case and actually fits very well in flip closed mode. On opening the flip the top half falls off so gives access to turn it into Laptop/Landscape mode. I can access the pop port should i want to connect the headphone adapter and headphones and the buttons and memory card are also all available. So at last i can retire the bag that comes with the phone and safely attach the phone to my waist and it is protected.

nice. i never use case, just put the foen in my pocket. e50 do fits my pocket, i love the really strong vibra in it. funny, its so stong, that when i set ring to increasing, i dotn even hear the ringtone in the first 10 seconds, cos the vibra is so "loud"

Just tried downloading an image with Opera-mini on my N80( Google images>search word-face- first image.) Works fine.

this voice aid feature is amazing! how to make new voice commands? i couldnt find the option for editing

Hi Boba,
The reason is quite simple i am more than happy with the browser that comes with my phone and i just don't add any apps to my phone that i don't absolutely need. As i believe this is one of the easiest ways to keep it all running nice and smooth. Now although in theory you should be able to add and remove apps at will i really do believe that with the latest incarnations of Symbian this is no longer so. This is why after 2 weeks and having used every feature of my phone i have not had a single crash or freeze the only thing i have yet to do is shoot some video and the only problem i have experienced is not being able to open a picture sent from my N73 over bluetooth. As for just putting my phone in my pocket i would need seriously big pockets for an N93 and it wouldn't remain mint for long, the case will mean when i go to sell after how ever long that it is it will still be mint.

Has anyone had any luck streaming over wi-fi on an N-series phone. I can stream most things over 3g (expensive) but the same link will disconnect after a couple of seconds on wi-fi. Anyone got a work around?
Posted by p900 lover
By "streaming " do you mean video?
Posted by shug
I have the same problem with both audio and video. I think it must have something to do with Realplayer on wi-fi because the links work both on my pc and using 3g.
Posted by bugsiiy
@shug you should check in the real player streaming settings,it's in the program itself.
Posted by BobaFett
e50 is brilliant! 2 days constantly playing with the fone, 4h browsing, 1h calls, bt usage etc very satisfied

@bugsiiy There's nothing wrong there - not much to tinker with to begin with. Can anyone else stream even audio through their router to their n- series phone?

Why does it say N71-1 or N91-1? Whats that 1 for?
Posted by BobaFett
good question, i do noticed that at e50, n70 aswell
Posted by shug
Maybe they're thinking of extending the market life of these phones by bumping them like the Internet Edition N80 which would then be N80-2
Posted by Prom1
@BobaFett; 4hrs surfing on the E50 is nothing to write home about its DOESNT have WiFi and thus can compare to the regular battery of an S60 2ND Ed 6620. Sry no cudo's there.
@shug; Streaming issues for you're N series phone is unsure what the cause is. What model are you using? Furthermore make sure your using the correct link (rtsp I believe with the .rm or .rmv or .rv - I may be wrong on the latter 2 file formats for streaming). But I suspect its a MEMORY Issue you're having. OR the DISCONNECTING issue may be due to the router settings? Is the router set to MAC filter? (are you spoofing your MAC address on the phone with FEEDBEEF?) Does your wireless router have a WEP/WPA_PSK encryption key? if any of those kill the encrypt & the filtering. REBOOT/Soft Reset the phone & start FRESH! However, HOW large is the Audio file you're trying to stream?
@QVGA, " Why does it say N71-1 or N91-1? Whats that 1 for? " Nokia practices segregation like other manufacturers so the -1 in a model number designates its intended market. THis makes more sense in phones like the N80/E70 that DONT have quadband yet have been advertised or press released to support the N/S. American bands for GSM.
@*dust*; you should've stated your business about the N91 issue right off the bat - someone may have been able to reply to assist in that 1 post you posted instead of making two.
Efficient posting peeps.

@prom what has wifi to do with browsing the net? according the high res screen and its size, next to it the calls and the constantly playing with the foen its a very good result, couldnt manage it non of other symbians i had before
Posted by shug
@prom1 I have an N80. Let's say I want to listen to BBC Radio1. I know the link is ok because it works on 3g. I know I don't have any issues with my router because I can surf the internet. I can also stream both audio and video from my pc using Orb -both useing my router or any other wi-fi connection. What I can't do is stream over any wi-fi connection to my phone. I just want to know if anyone else can. Can't figure out what the problem is.

@BobaFett also my N93 is listed as N93-1,don't know why, probably because it's the first batch or model?

Maybe its just Esato's dislike of Nokia phones ?
Ive had my N93 8 days now, and loving every minute of it. I just cant leave the phone alone.
