can someone tell me how to set a reminder in the calender for a TV show i watch every saturday? how should i set it up so that it reminds me every 1300 hrs saturday for a show i watch?
Posted by Burgaz
If you set it as a meeting in the calender you can then set it to repeat daily/weekly/monthly.... etc. Does that help?

Where do i find out when there's a new software update available for my phone? Or is the only way of checking typing the code in on the nokia website?
I'm hoping they'll sort out the BT volume control problem on my N78 in an update...
Posted by Burgaz
ok so i just had a scout about on MR and discovered that there are newer versions of software available for the N78 even if the nokia site was saying there wasn't!?
So i did an OTA check via WIFI and lo and behold it downloaded an update and installed it! all in less than 5mins bloody brilliant! Now to check the BT volume thingy!

Mobitubia is a good piece of kit, it streams clips from youtube and saves them onto the phone or mem card so you can play them offline.
Posted by GUCCI.011
Both MobiTubia and emTube are great .flv player/managers, you must have good 3G/HSDPA reception to make proper use of them though.

no i want to play .flv files that i've saved onto my computer. i tried emtube and it couldnt play a single one of them
Posted by procterdc
You can do it with mobitubia, save some clips from youtube onto your phone using mobitubia, then hook ure phone to the PC and go find where the .flv files are on your phone. The copy and paste them into the same folder on your phone and it should work ok.

You should use core player. Its plays most formats, including .flv.
Posted by Miss UK
Knowbody no if the BBC iPlayer will be available on the N95-2 then???
Ps, is there any way of changing the outline from blue to something else on these phones?

I remember reading you don't use your N95 8GB regularly atm, so it's probably in as new condition.
I'd keep it a while longer then, some interesting phones are coming up, this way you have time to see, whether they live up to the expectations we have, when we read their specs on paper, or turn out to be a disappointment, like the N96 is to many of its owners.
When one of them then really turns out to be great, it still pays, to wait : it'll have less bugs and will be alot cheaper
When you like the Nseries, I'd wait to see if there's any sign of a touch-screen Nseries phone coming in the near future.
Compared to E and Nseries' Symbian phones, Xpress Music phones are a bit "simple" imo

no. You dont ditch the n95-2 for the xperia. You should wait... I'm due an upgrade soon, but, looking past any se, i'm waiting to see what nokia launch next, n-series wise..
Posted by bavlondon2
The 5800 isnt even the S60 touch flagship so best to wait for that I guess.

n97??
Gimme a break!
The all touch based nseries phone wont be n97, if it does, then thats the one going to have a physical buttons as well.

I think you should wait!
1) Nseries touch phone may be announced in Late November or early December, but shipping may take till March 2009 - enough time to save
2) Sell the N95-2 to seasonally upgrade to the N85 - get same features & functions but the processor may show its slight weakness in games like Star Wars on N-Gage.
3) Sell the N95-2; downgrade and bank the extra doh! Seriously. Think about this ... you'll get to appreciate functions you miss using - don't crimp on camera though if you like the N95s' 5MP quality. But banking the extra doh will already give you a head start on the Nseries touch or even go full out on the new top-tier N series late spring.

The E-Series is QUALITY built buddy, much better than ANY of the current N-series. Hardly any issues en-masse of the E-Series E71/66. Sure camera's aren't the best but the operation of the OS is stable as the N95-4 if not better. Expect to see the build quality and possibly even metal transcend into the future N-series; starting with the N79 faux metal trim and the N85 quality slider.
But like you said if Miss UK has an N95-4 sell that, keep the N95-2 save for the next major thing.
- wait for higher resolution S60 FP2 to debut.

I have the Nokia N70
Posted by mob453
i have an n70 too. With music edition firmware.
Anyway, my 6220 classic is now on 03.46 firmware thanks to a firmware over the air update.
Posted by Miss UK
I'll sell it next year then
I hate the N96 it looks so cheapley MADE!
my pal has it, it doesn't do nothing for me at all,
ok it's a whole new platform phone but when they made the N95-1/2 atleast they used better materials for it.
the N96 is also cursed with bugs present and that V11 SW isn't yet available to all Product codes.

I think it's best to wait a few months and buy a new phone other then buy one off the shelf thats cursed with errors at first.
ive had my N95-2 from SW 11 ive never had any errors at all with it,
much as I keep updating it I hate Version 30 the phone screen goes blank when turning it on for 30secs it's bloomin annoying after entering pin code etc, it's gotta be some bug which am not amused about
I have started re-using my phone btw for about 1month now
Posted by Marly
Yeah, V30 seems to have a few glitches, many people also don't like the "online sharing" thingy in the standby screen.
Our N95-1 still is on V21, aslong as it's working ok, I think I'll leave it this way.
Posted by Miss UK
I don't mind the "Online sharing" thats also on the N96,
thing that annoys me is that gap on bootup lol
I would downgrade the firmware if i could but it's just not possible apparentley
I might try re-installing it again later on this week see if it solves anything

What model are you talking about (OS 9.1/FP1/FP2)? Are you running the latest f/w version on your phone?
Open SecMan and turn off the security platform, install the game from your computer, turn it back on and start N-gage.

Well N82 not the latest fw still the 20.0.062

N98 ?
Fitted with a 7.2 mega pixel camera that includes Carl Zeiss optics, autofocus and built-in Xenon flash, the Nokia N98 camera even supports 8x optical zoom and 40x digital zoom.
With this in mind, the 3.5 inch 540 x 480 VGA touch screen is perfect for viewing and editing images or browsing online, editing text and replying to emails.
Videos on the other hand are recorded at 60fps with a resolution of 720 x 576 and include 5x optical zoom and 20x digital zoom functions.
Posted by Luci'sPower
well looks nice but it's fake at least the part with optical zoom
