Hey guys,
my friend bought a N95 8GB , nice phone and good quality camera

but I was confused : does it have Image Stabilization ? If yes where do I find it in its setting ?

thanks.

Posted by GUCCI.011
I dont think it has Image Stabilization but it has Video Recording Stabilization found in settings.

Posted by Miss UK
lol I haven't used my N95 in ages now roll on September

Posted by GUCCI.011
Nope, N95-8gb doesn't have Image Stabilization, only video, but the camera is still great.
Miss.Uk
What are you using then?

Hey all! Just got an N95-3. I need suggestions on must-have apps and I have some questions. How do I get the screen to auto-rotate? How can I see the firmware version from the phone (and what's the latest one)? How can I connect to the internet through my home's Wi-fi if I also need to have a "Broadband PPoE" connection set up when I connect from a laptop?

Posted by alrodlop35
Ok so I've already updated my software to the latest and I've figured out the auto-rotate thing but I can't find a signed version of rotateme. How can I sign an S60 app? What about the internet connection?

Posted by procterdc
If you use the auto rotate feature I wouldn't bother with RotateMe. I find the nokia one much better than RM.

Posted by Pepi
does the n82 gps differ in any way from the n95? and if i have n82 do i have to pay for the gps service or it depends on my mobile operator?
thinking of buying a n82 in a week

Posted by procterdc
Not that i'm aware of. I use Garmin Mobile XT as my SatNav and apparently if you use assisted GPS it does charge you. Now I use this quite a fair bit, including recently a 4 hour trip to South Wales and I haven't noticed a difference in price.

Posted by frank2345babies
aGPS is only used for the initial lock onto the satelittes which doesn't use alot of data so doesn't cost much. The length of the journey wont incurr any further data charges. Afaik. Would recommend reset generation on ngage. Great game and highly addictive when played online. If there are any reset generation players on esato add me my name is deboom also reply in thread so we can get a tournament or room for esato users.

Unfortunately, neither of the N95's NAM editions come with auto screen rotation and getting a signed version of RotateMe is a lot of hassle so I've just given up on this. Going back to standby and sliding the multimedia keys open works for me.

Actually Yes! The covers have a certain chip imbedded - not unlike the SIM card - and as soon as the cover is connected the Theme is changed (or background wallpaper. 6-8 colors, not bad.

That N85 looks UGLY around the D-Pad (I loathe the touch-capacitance keys; shades of K850i annoyances) but its feature set is what I'm after and the diminished size from the N95 will rock!

Currenlty I'm enjoying the E71.

Posted by jj03
n85 has certainly caught my eye. . May be my next handset after the n82.

Posted by Miss UK
Oh god I bet the old bermuda short are gunna make a comeback now hence them luminous colours

phones do look nice btw but bit way to get your sungasses out quick

any more word about Nokia's iPhone killer?????

you could always hack your phone with hellocarbide...it's very easy, and means you don't have to sign the app at all.

You may find GOOD information going through this thread - exhaustive but helpful! Then after you need to goto a dedicated site like a site for ALL things S60 ... there is so much more your phone can do!

The app relative to 's TrackID is called Shazam! Its free as well and works just as well. Google for it.

Now for some SERIOUS news ppl!

UPDATE Fellow Canadians!!!

Rogers customers gain access to Nokia's innovative mobile services on Canada's fastest mobile network

as First posted by Apoc on his site (http://www.a site.com/news/008/09/groundbreaking_gage_and_maps_services_on_rogers.htm) and also

You need to specifically click on the heading " Nokia launches groundbreaking N-Gage and Nokia Maps services on Rogers Wireless' High-Speed Network" for September 10th in the above site as it renders within a Java window

Nokia source: http://www.nokia.com/A4136001?newsid=1250249

[quote=Rogers Wireless & Nokia] Toronto, Canada and San Francisco, CA, USA - Rogers Wireless and Nokia today announced the Canadian availability of exciting new wireless services that allow Rogers consumers to experience the latest in mobile gaming and navigation on Nokia devices. This services agreement between Nokia and Rogers is the first such agreement with a wireless carrier in North America, further establishing Rogers Wireless' leadership in delivering Canadian consumers leading-edge wireless data experiences.

Nokia Maps, with GPS functionality and featuring Location Based Services, enables users to expertly navigate, whether searching for an unfamiliar address in their home city or exploring a vacation destination. Consumers can see the world in a new way, with on-screen maps for more than 160 countries and millions of points of interest. Making finding your way easier than ever before, users can now plan their route street to street, city to city, or country to country. They can view different perspectives, including satellite images, street maps, or combinations of the two.

Using Nokia Maps, users can enjoy world-class car navigation with turn-by-turn visual and voice guidance in 46 languages, and dynamic re-routing to avoid trouble spots. For those needing the last mile assistance or pedestrian guidance in town, consumers can get turn-by-turn navigation instructions on their Nokia device.

With Nokia N-Gage, consumers can easily find, try and buy the best in mobile games with a range of innovative, made-for-mobile titles from Nokia, such as Reset Generation and Dirk Dagger and The Fallen Idol, as well as popular brands from leading 3rd party publishers. Through this thriving community, consumers can meet friends, find others to challenge, communicate with each other via message boards, live chat, tournaments and other interactive exchanges that bring the mobile gaming experience to life. THIS is how contracts & business relationships should be done!

PS. Yes I'm a VERY happy Canadian after hearing this news.
PSS. I hate how Nokia advertises the N95 versions TOO TOO much and neglects to advertise the other phones.

I'm seriously considering either an N78 or N82? Which would you guys go for? I think i've decided on the N78... But i just wondered if there was any reason to change my mind... The FM transmitter does it for me.

Does the N78 have an accelometer thingy?

Posted by Burgaz
Oh well i just bought myself an N78! the last nokia i had was an 8600 luna and an N70... I'm quite excited and looking forward to the change!

Congrats. I would have gone for a N82 but the N78 is still a nice allrounder. The N78 doesn't have an accelerometer, but its got all the New FP2 goodies and eye-candy so i doubt you'll miss the accelerometer.

Posted by Burgaz
It was the FM transmitter that made me choose the N78 in the end! And FP2.

ok i have a quick question or two. I've but some videos on my memory card in the videos folder but when i press the media button they don't shoiw up on the Videos slide? I tried moving them to "My Videos" but they still don't show up? Where do i put videos to get them to show in the media menu?

Also where do you normally put music on your memory card?

Thanks

what trash?

Posted by Luci'sPower
temporary internet files,cookies history etc.

Posted by QVGA
Well cookies i think there's an option to delete from the browser. For temp files you'll need Y-browser. Go to C drive, then cache. Delete everything in it.
For history, delete the automatic bookmarks.

nice info thanks mate

Hi again
For videos on my N81 they are in a folder called Video clips, maybe in N78 its just called Videos, in that case you've put them in the right place maybe its a bug that makes them not show up in Multimedia Menu.
Music goes into Sound clips > Digital sounds.

To Clear Cookies, Cache etc. . .in the Web browser simply click Options scroll down and click on Clear Privacy Data.

I see you decided to get the N81 Rip-off aka SAMSUNG i450
Jj its a nice device.

Cheers for that Gucci. I rebooted the phone and all is good! Everything is in the media menu!

Lovely

I found the first annoying thing about my n78.... When i connect it to my MBS-100 i can't adjust the volume??? Any phone i used with it would work perfectly, you just press the volume keys on the phone and the volume goes up and down. But on my N78 i press the volume up and down and the volume slider goes up and down on the screen but the speaker volume doesn't change!?!?!?

Can anyone else confirm that this is the same on all Nseries phones? Or does it work with a nokia BT speaker? Or maybe a software update will fix it?

Please can someone else give it a try!

Thanks in advance

Burgaz!

Posted by Burgaz
Does anyone out there use their Nseries with BT speakers?

Come on someone must of at least tried?

@ all, is there anymore updates coming along for the N95-2?

ive noticed that myphone wont allow me to adjust the left and right on the screen to vodafone internet even though it's meant to, think the phone has lost the plot sometimes

Posted by GUCCI.011
Theres a New V30 Firmware for the N95, N95-8gb and N82.

Posted by Miss UK
kewl whens it out? or is it and whats the main differences

Posted by mob453
Just upgraded to a 6220 classic from a 6120 classic.

Posted by Miss UK
I put V30 on myphone lastnight and I can only see one major difference being some application on the screen for pictures

what else does this patch include?

im curious to know when Nokia send text messages to you im wondering if they send something to your phone alongside that so it messes the phone diverting you to update it?

funny how myphone messes up with certain things when a patch is on the loose

Congrats on your new phone btw
