changing the volume in N82 during a game is it possible? cant figure it out for the life of me
Posted by vladn02
well more problems, so i have this game installed that wont erase everytime i try it locks up phone, and when i go to app manager its not there,... please give me ideas as i already formatted my memory card twice, also if any idea what the prob is,.... memory card or phone

Must say im enjoying the Ngage Gaming on my N81, the gaming buttons make all the difference compared to playing on a friend's N95-8gb, the keypad ergonomics of that phone IMO are not great for gaming. When i get my N82 il split the tasks. N81 for Ngage Gaming and Music, N82 for everything else lol.
Vladn02
About your N82 being laggy, do you clear your Web browser cache after long internet browsing?
Posted by vladn02
no i have not, im a little newbish to Symbian S60
Posted by BobaFett
u have to set the ringing volume lower or higher, that effetcs the sound in the game
Posted by vladn02
tried that did not work
Posted by BobaFett
but it should work, cos thats the trick i do since ages at games. also i dont understand, why only some games have the the features to set the volmune in the game itself
Posted by vladn02
from my understanding it depends on the game, most S60 v3 games have volume control, java on the other hand does not, no biggie though,
I do have another question which is kind of silly but cant figure it out for the life of me, how do you view your own #? lol i change mine often and never remember the 13 digits lol, thanks.

Hahaha yes!! Have managed to get rotateme v2 signed at last. Used my works email address (as its not a public address) and found rotateme v2.1 open UID...and hey presto it works.

Posted by vladn02

Does anyone have the same problem with recording and playing video? When I record and play back it freezes every 30 seconds or so. Its rather annoyin lol.

Hi Miss UK
When i had my N95 8GB i only ever used WiFi as don't have a data plan with VodaFone and the only time it ever tried to use packet access was for VodaFone Live.
I just made sure that for Internet,Messages and Fring it was set to user defined and that i had selected my home Wifi connection and then it can't connect any other way it's just not possible.
So i would check that every app that you use that connects to the internet is set to user defined and is using your WiFi connection but you need to be sure this is done for any app that uses the Internet to be sure.
Sorry to hear you have to hear you have got stung for Voda data use as that really sucks.
Marc

is opera mini 4 or 4.1 also so slow in your n95 8gb? it drives me nuts...
Posted by vladn02
in what sense do you mean slow? as far the speed of the internet? or the browser it self?
Posted by BobaFett
i mean the app itself. i installed it on the mass memory and on the fone aswell ( just to tzest it in both ways ) but it hangs, when it starts and if i make any changes amd also when i turn it off
Posted by BobaFett
why cant even plan route with nokie maps? thats really crap... at least that would be a great feature... the navigation is already pretty overpriced imo, seems u cant do anything with the map feature, instead of check places and see where u are

Hi Marc,
all my settings were fine and set to User Defined!
prob was when my Virgin Media connection went down I didn't notice it transferred to the next connection which was Vodafone live hence my charges,
Ive sorted it out now, Vodafone advised me not to take the Data cos I don't use it 1MB or 0.5MB is what they say I use the majority of the time,
even thought they've advised me not to take this ive added it anyway works out cheaper in the longrun if I ever have any probs lol
btw now ive added it to my plan,
funny how YouTube fails to work with Vodafone live? but works connected to Wi-Fi
anyone know whats up here?
im sure all the content controls off on my account bit odd if you ask me :/
Posted by Dogmann
Hi Miss UK
I really can't understand how it used another connection when your WiFi wasn't available without asking you? it should of said connection not available and then asked you it doesn't do it automatically well it least it never has on any of my phones. As yours is a generic handset i really can't understand what happened in this case seems very strnge to me.
Marc

Does anyone think it would be possible to take apart the N95 8GB and remove the 8GB flash memory and put in a 16GB? If its just a memory card inside, do u think it could work?
Posted by SE-Naz
You can not replace the 8GB Flash memory due to the software issues you would come across...
Cheers
Posted by procterdc
Ahhh. I better figure out how to put my phone back together again then lol...
Only kiddin, woudn't know where to start pullin it apart. Hehe.
Posted by Miss UK
Yeah Marc it was abit odd,
I had a prob with my N80 on 02 in a similar way too!
you just gotta watch what your doing with these phones btw
The N95-1 backplate comes off easily to expose the circuits and stuff but yeah the 8GB one looks like it's rein-forced against us trying to prys it appart and try removing the Flash memory lol
has anyone took the phone appart? what does the Memory part look like?
Posted by BobaFett
u did sg wrong then miss, its impossible, that it happened on its own. mabe u choose accidently "change connection"....

Hy Guys,
I cant conect to Wifi on my N95 8GB in work. We use proxy settings here but i cant find those setting in my n95 (got it yesterday). I need to set up the proxy and put my user&password. Wi fi is already conected, but i need to change the proxy setting like in IE (conection - lan settings - proxy server)
Someone could help me? Couldnt fin anything in the forum...
thanks
Karina =)

@Karina do you have the no gateway reply problem?
i had it with mine and found this worked a treat.
You have to put the gateway on the phone manually by editing the tool – setting – connection - Access point – (select your access point) - option – edit – advanced – Ipv4 – manual
And give the phone a static IP address
must be with the same range of the wireless router that means have the same first 3 sets of number e.g (192.168.1.xxx) and define net mask (255.255.255.0)
Then define the gateway by using the router IP address eg( 192.168.1.1)
And again use the same IP (192.168.1.1) for the DNS address
hope this helps

Although I haven't seen the inside of the N95 8GB, I'd assume the memory is one or two memory chips attached directly to one of the main PCBs. As an example you can see pictures of the Iphone's internal memory here:

Hi Adz
Yes its exactly that problem. I dont know what happened, because i could conect to wifi on my network without any probl. then sudddenly I couldnt conect anymore.
Couldnt it be also the key to conect it ? I mean, i have the right one , but i have hearing that it could be also it.
Anyway I will try what you said and let u know.
Thanks

Thats intresting didn't know Apple had asked samsung to develop a chip for the iPhone, what a waste though still i'd like to see a N95-2 Dissection lol
Posted by GUCCI.011
Yep. Samsung makes the sound chips for Apple i-Pods and and the iPhone, i think its also using a 620mhz CPU made by Samsung.
Imagine if the N95 had a 620mhz CPU? Lol!
Posted by Miss UK
Oh so I wonder if APPLE will decide to team up with Samsung on other handsets, explains the price of the iPhone,
Samsungs are pretty expensive
Posted by vladn02
never been a fan of samsungs, not even for a split second, then again i was never a fan of nokias before either lol
Posted by Miss UK
Samsung have good phones there prob abit more girly then usual though but yet there very smart the designwise
Posted by BobaFett
me seems this new fw didnt increased batt life on n95-2.
Posted by vladn02
i noticed that it got a little better on the n82 also noticed screen doesnt show 100% brightness anymore lol more like 90% which is more than enough but when the phone is booting up the nokia screen shows the 100% and it WAY WAY WAY bright
are you N95 8gb going to upgrade to N-96 or no? just wondering
Posted by thomas93
i550 was nice imo.

wow, thats really amazing. indeed n95 is a real success
@vald i dont like n96 design, the batt is more weak as in n95 8gb, not interested to be honest
any ideas how to downgrade the maps 2.0 beta version? its really nice, but useless yet, cant calculate route and i do miss it
