Q on AT&T mms & sms feature

Can anybody confirm AT&T SMS only work within their Network? And they still don't have the MMS capability online?

Or I just need a special setting to do both SMS & MMS to an International recipient from the AT&T Network.

Att doesnt allow sms or mms to be sent outside of n. America

Do you know if it is the same case for their MMS? My phone has "AWS MMS" setting but failed all the time by simply trying to send one of the builtin picture.
