Hmmm, I like this case, but when I went to my local shop I thought the phone only just fit inside it! Is that an issue at all? What sort of protection does it offer? At the moment I'm using my P910i case (the one that comes with the phone originally). I dismantled the belt buckle attachment and it works quite nicely

Well, I bought the PivotHK silicone case and I'm very pleased with it... I like to carry my P990i like a regular phone, I don't really think it is THAT big, as some people do. I carried my P900 around for three years on my jeans front pocket, or the inside pocket of jackets without a problem. Now, with the P990i, I removed the flip, which makes it even more thin and portable. This silicone case doesn't really add too much to the overall size and it gives the phone a nice layer of protection, so that I can use it like a normal phone, and less like a "luxury pet" that you have to look after like a baby...
I only had to open the holes in the case (jog dial, keylock and stylus holder) a little more, with a sharp blade, but apart from that it's perfect for me.

Has anyone received the noreve cases for their p990i??, i mean if anyone ordered one as im thinking of buying one for the p990i that i have and also another one for my k800i.

They seem to be the best cases out there at the moment, but would like to hear if anyone has received one after ordering??.

@Spawn

I've ordered a Noreve but as I picked Brown it'll take another 10 days before I receive it. My PDair case should be with me by the end of the week so I can report on that case.

Posted by Spawn
Cheers Jah, i might as well order both noreve cases as im getting worried about scratches etc on both phones.

I'm thinking about buying it as well, specially because you get a free screenprotector with it. But is the protection of the screen good enough? I've always been a bit paranoid when it came to the screen so I've used screnprotector (martin fields) and carried my p900 in the case that came with it. So is this silicon case + screenprotector a good enough combination if I carry my phone in a purse along with the keys, wallet and so on?

i'm using a lovely Nintendo DS Lite case i bought from Game for £4.99. Its nice and snugg but not too snug lol. And has a lovely second pouch on the front which is the right size for ma Nokia N73 to fit in as well lol.

Does me fine as i like pouches more than cases... also using a DS screen protector on it cut down to size lol.

Not being fussy but no case has yet been made that really suits the p990i flip off mode.

Nothin looks cool so far, or is it just me!

guys, i am looking at Noreve case, it seems it will take a lot of work to answer a phone call with that case. It does look good, but don't you have to first open the clip that wraps around the back to open the face cover, than whip that 360 degrees to the back to reveal the phone? just seems weird, am i missing something here?

Posted by p9nineo
Hope to have a review from you soon on the noreve case.
would like to get 1 too but I would still prefer
the flip down case rather flipping up

I still think the Pivot Skin is the best alternative

Posted by shabazali
is ther any cases for the p990i that enables you to use the phone while its in the case, prefabaly on that protects the screen too?..

Posted by jackdaniels
I think the krussel case does

Posted by tonyitalian
just ordered the pivot case.......

Posted by p9nineo
any idea how it will look like for Noreve on the camera side?
I think it may be a little difficult to take picture with an upward flip.

Noreve Back Camera Image.
Not very user-friendly in my opinion as you have to
open the camera lens at all time inorder take a picture

New case from Covertec for the P990

Posted by happybpc
i have receive the Mobo Babylon #17 case from ebay. It is a nice case, but it fits very tight wth p990, you are almost for sure to press a button or two by accident while getting p990 in and out if you are not careful. It is a nice case, however. I am waiting for the PDApair case right now, i will let you guys know what i think of it.

@happybpc

Got my PDAir case today - sorry to say the magnetic closure does cause the backlight and screen to switch-on if you place the P990 flip & screen near the magnetic closure. Otherwise a okay quality case.

Seems SE have updated the IEC-20 Executive case

There's a new (huge) plastic clip now... personally I don't really like it and will need to find a way to remove it.

All holes are the correct size. i.e charger ports and jog dial part.

I can take pics if anyone wants.

Posted by MYB87
i got the blavk pivot couple of days ago its great except for couple of things.. first i find it collecting alot of dust, it becomes hard to use the jog dial and to put the p990 in the stand
if it wasnt collecting alot of dust it would of been great

Posted by Jah
@mykkk

pictures of the updated SE case would be good. I always avoided them in the past because of the poor belt clip

Posted by mykkk
Not great pics...but you should be able to see how the clip has changed.

I like this case:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Golla[....]-1611028?ie=UTF8&s=electronics
but I don't know if the phone will fit in it. Is it to small for p990? The most beautiful Golla cases come in this size

Jah, that is sure a bad news for me with PDAPair case. because mine is still on its way from some Asia company. If the magnet causes screen light to switch on, does it do that every time and constantly?
That would sure waste battery power and maybe some kind of screen malfunction later ?

Posted by Jah
@happybpc

the PDair and other cases that use magentic closure only cause a problem if the flip/screen is oriented towards the closure. I use the PDair case but I orient the P990 so that the flip/screen is on the inside toward the belt clip. I think the case is okay otherwise.

Posted by drgopoos
yes i too was using a case with magnetic closure and was having this probem with the screen.. so i had to make sure that the screen always faces away from the magnet at closure or else the screen was affected.....

i will soon get the knuseel case and that will be quite good

I received my PDair case yesterday. It's OK as Jah stated, but there is no space for a fastportconnector from a headset. I expected a little asymmetric design to make the flip fit in, but the case is straight and is a bit more stretched at the flip-side. I will use this case for the time being, but I will look further for a horizontal case without beltclip but really attached to the belt and with an opening for the fastportconnector.

Yesterday I found for my P990i the perfect case for my taste! I like a case to cover the whole device so I had a look at a new local store here in Greece called "Media Markt" and got it for €13.99.

The brand is "Hama" and its supposed to be a camera case, but does the job right plus is made from genuine leather so am pretty happy with it. Here are some pictures for those might be interested!

Here you can see a nice memory card storage slot...

Few specs but IMO the weight must be completely wrong since the case is very light..

@ares
Am still looking for the link mate...

New case from Piel Frama for the P990

Posted by axl
I've just bought two P990i silicone case (white and black) from this Liv3.com web site:

http://www.liv3.com/product_info.php/products_id/98

Cheap pricing but good quality. I don't want to pay 10 pounds any more for a case that I can now buy with less than 5 pounds.

BTW I've got a 15% off promotion code from these guys. If anyone interested I can post it here.

Today I missed two calls when I took the phone out the PDair case. What happened is that, while taking the phone out, the camerashutter was opened, due to some resistance in the case. This released the keylock and unwanted (or unknown) pressing random keys. At this point the phone rebooted. The second time was moreless the same situation, I took some more time to take the phone out and I didn't press any buttons. But then the call was allready diverted to the voicemailbox.

For me it is some kind of bug that the keys become unlocked when (accidently) opening the shutter.

My Noreve case has just be shipped so should have it in a few days. The PielFrama looks good also.

Posted by p9nineo
But none is perfect as yet...
PielFrama ones does not have a Handsfree slot
While Noreve camera is not very good as you need to take out the phone everytime you need to take a photo.

Wow Psychic or what I was just going to ask the same question!!

Received my Noreve case today.

I must this is really high quality product, the detailing is very good. They have really thought about how to accommodate the P990. For example, the cover for the front of the phone has a section with a dip to fit the protruding keys of the flip and the leather near the bottom (front) on each side of the phone is curved to match the curve of the bottom part of the flip. Also the leather used is not too thick so the overall bulk with the P990 in the case is not that great. I can highly recommend this case. I am in two minds now about trying the Covertec case as this Noreve case is so good...
