Wow got the E50 from Sweden, got to say this is SOOOOO the next 6310i/6230. This phone will def be the next business mass martket phone. So thin and amazig battery, been running it for 2 days now and still on 80%

Quirky little features like it says the persons name in their voice when they call you etc. This is def the next 6310i and I think this will sell solidly for years to come as did the 6310i.

For those after a solid reliable, THIN phone with excellent features, a workhorse if you like, I would recomend the E50 for definate....

I will try and get a full review up of it asap. I have another for sale from Sweden if anyone wants one/knows business/domestic users who might want one prior to launch (see for sale section in market place)

i tested it yestarday. the metal backcover is great, just as the front, BUT that joy is sooo crap, at the top the rubber thing at on/off button is disappointing. no flash, same weird cam solution just as at 3250 ( pic is fine, when u made the foto already, aslong the screen is griesy ). why 1.3 mp cam? no umts, just edge. BUT great battery ( 900 mah ), nice high res screnn.

Dont think they are concentrating on a camera with this one, business users seem not to care, as with the m600i. I have made 2 1/2 hours of calls and now its still on 75%. This is DEF the phone for me instead of my k800i/8800 nokia.

indeed, the symbian os makes it more advantaged as k800, but how do u like that keypad and joy? it feels really crap imo, and the design is really cheap.

I really like it, they keys are nice and flat so you can almost use it with your eyes closed. And also like the way the keybad blinks when you have missed a call, (this can be turned off if you need).

So far so good!

imo the screen is bit more smaller ( or just i got used in symbians for bigger ones )

@JiggyJaggy: I remember my T68i having a similiar feature back in the day... i.e playing back the voice of the contact calling you before the phone started ringing.

nice,i was thinking of getting one but wasnt 100% sure. think youve swayed me Jiggy, cheers

You mean like the Play Caller Name feature? This is in the Voice Dialling menu. You can turn the ringer volume off and just have the phone play the Callers name.

Posted by BobaFett
i do liked that feature in n90 for example, that the fone had a built in voice controller, it was pretty funny, how it "told" the names

Posted by JiggyJaggy
Yeah like the old school answering machines with the robotic voice. Excellent for in the office so your phone doesnt ring at all.

Does e50 got it?

Posted by JiggyJaggy
yes it does.

Posted by BobaFett
dosent it disturb u that weird pic quality before u make a pic? i really dont get what kind of braindead idea is that...

That is one ugly piece of electronics

Very constructive, thanks.

Any way there are so many little quirks and features im finding on this phone that are making me like it more and more...

1) The calander view: when you scroll over a date it shows you what events are happening that day without having to go into each day and then come back to the main calender menu again. Subtle.

2) After 3/4 days solid use, NOW my battery is flat, compared to the 8800, this is pure heaven!

3) Navigation and Locating GPRS software built into the phone.

An excellent phone IMHO with very good style and great battery life, this is a workhorse fo a phone.

Anything u are missing in it?

Posted by JiggyJaggy
Nothing that I can think of. Depends how you mean. It doesnt have WiFi etc but I dont expect to have things like that in a handset like this.

Major features:

Loudspeaker, BT, great battery, 1.3mp camera, SD mini slot, great organiser/contacts manager (including Bluetooth transfer wizard which is fantastic) Its like synching via BT without the compatibility issues! MP3 player, Tri/Quad band (not sure what).

It has all the major features but its the solidity of the phone that makes me see the 6310i qualities in it a mile off!

Can u pls post a sample pic?

this is a samle of the £50 camera. Bear in mind it was taken through a car window at about 15mh, so not best possible shot I guess....

as i see its the 6680 quality. thx for the pic

This may be the next phone for me - "just a phone" (I don't care about music or camera) + PDA "lite" features. With a little Apple hacking, it'll work perfectly in iSync, too (S60 phones always do).

Some questions:

1) Does it use "speaker-independent" voice dialing, like the more recent Motorolas (V3i onwards)? Can you voice-dial all of the numbers (home, work, mobile) under a single contact? (This was a limitation of the 6270, you could only voice-dial the default number for a contact.)

2) How is the screen? Does it wash out in sunlight? Are the fonts readable? These are some complaints heard around the Internet.

3) Another complaint is slow SMS sending - it doesn't happen in the "background" like the W810. What is your experience?

screen is ok, fonts are a bit small imo, but its up to everybodies taste

Hi all
I have found a lot of the newer Nokia's have voice dialling and announce the callers name if you activate and want this option. All without the need to record voice tags either.

Love this feature....saves me running to the phone when the phone rings! Another great feature is the simplicity of the blackberry software and the feel of the phone in your hand.
