Sony this week announced the release of the GPS-CS1, a 3.5 inch long GPS device that will add geographic data to pictures taken with your Sony Cybershot digicams.

One of the nice feature in this is that it lets you view your journey as virtual pins on a Google Map.

I think... it does not communicate with the cybershot camera directly... more so when the pictures are on your pc and the GPS is connected....

"Using time and location recordings from Sony’s GPS-CS1 GPS device and the time stamp from a Sony digital still camera or camcorder, photo buffs can plot their digital images to a map and pinpoint exactly where they’ve been."

seems like a good idea, but I think its been implemented wrong because now instead of just carrying a camera you have to carry a gps thing and a camera

Sony has released its GPS-CS1KA GPS Unit this month, allowing any digital camera that takes Exif 2.1-compatible images to have location data saved alongside it.
