Thanks for the tips guys, working great on my K810i.

I was having problems sending, until I put in my username and password for outgoing, now all is fine. Thanks especially to Chrisbpr for the tip about subjects only, otherwise the mails just dissappear each time you do a send/receive.

Cheers!!

M

Try the setting below, it worked on my K800i.

Connect: GPRS
Email address: username@gmail.com
Protocol: Pop3
Incoming server: pop.gmail.com
Username: username@gmail.com
Password: *****
Outgoing server: smtp.gmail.com

Now go to Advanced setting:
Encrytiption - Incoming: SSL
- Outgoing: TLs
Outgoing username: username@gmail.com
Outgoing password: *****
Incoming Port: 995
Outgoing port: 25 or 465 (mine works on 25)

Good luck. I have the TMO USA T-Mobile Web.

Do those figures about Gmail setup work everywhere and in every SE phone?

I also tried configuring my Gmail account on my Sony Ericsson K800i but it is not working. I believe I entered and configured the right settings but still it is not working. I will actually start to connect and find the server but in the end, it will just say "Server not found." I am actually from the Philippines. We have several network providers here like Smart and Globe. I actually tried both but neither of them worked. Gmail only works on my phone if I'm gonna use the Gmail app that I downloaded. It only works on Smart but not on Globe. I think the reason why it is not working is because of our network providers here. Anyone from the Philippines here that is able to make Gmail work on Sony Ericsson K800i?

Good luck, I got it working using the SE support tool

At last, mine is working now. I thought that I'm doing the wrong configuration but I found out that I just need to select a different Internet profile on my phone.

@naveedaziz83: Actually, we have the same settings and mine is working. I think you can try to select a different Internet profile. Does O2 provide several Internet settings or data accounts?

well there is o2 prepay wap
and o2 wap gprs
are you using o2 prepay or the contract one

@naveedaziz83: I'm actually using a prepaid account. Tried using different Internet profiles. It really depends on the network settings of your service provider.

Hi!

This is my W900i request for help with GMail thread

I read this thread and this one and also downloaded

Equifax Secure Certificate Authority.crt
Equifax_Secure_Certificate_Authority.cer
getrootcert.cer
thawte_Premium_Server_CA.cer
thawte_Server_CA.cer
ThawtePremiumServerCA.cer
ThawteServerCA.cer

and bluetoothed them, to my W900i

I use the settings -

Account name - W900i
email address - my_email@gmail.com
Connect using - o2 Prepay GPRS
Connection Type IMAP4

Incoming Server: imap.gmail.com

Username - my_email@gmail.com and have also tried my_email as the user name
password - ******** and have triple checked it

Download - Headers and Text
Check Interval - 5 minutes

Outgoing Server: smtp.gmail.com

Username - my_email@gmail.com and have also tried my_email
password - ******** and have triple checked it

Your name - ofiaich
Signature - left it blank

Copy outgoing - sent to my main address

Encryption - Incoming server and outgoing server -SSL

Incoming Port - 993
Outgoing Port - 587 BUT I also read that 465 can be used for Outgoing and tried it.

But still no success.

I get a wrong mailbox or password error.

I have also tried use googlemail.com instead of gmail.com

Any ideas would be much appreciated?

Obvious thing to ask... but I assume you have setup you Gmail Account via the web application to enable POP etc. (as the default is to have this disabled !) ?

Also I assume you are not on O2 payando ? (if so they restrict access to the servers.)

Other than that... no idea.

and O2 payandgo service confirmed it.
