I've just ported over from T-Mobile so was using my k800 with a T-Mob sim but now my port to O2 is complete I've put my new sim in but cant send any txts. When I try to send one it says
"Sending failed
Retry?"
I just checked on O2's site and the Service Centre number is correct. So I dont really know what to do. I can make calls and tried the RSS Reader which seems to be working, so I presume my GPRS is working too which means its just SMS's
Any ideas?
Also can I just check my internet settings are right (cause I seem to have loads of em on here now):
Internet profiles > O2 PostPay WAP
Settings for Java > O2 PostPay WAP
Thanks for the help!

I had a similar problem the other day, but only when sending a MMS to a friend on orange. I'm on O2. I could send messages to other poeple on T-mobile and O2, I put it down to a orange problem. But could be anything. It started working the day after though!! so maybe a O2 problem.
My settings are differant to yours. I do have teh post pay setting, but my phone is using "O2 WAP GPRS" for internet, Java and MMS.

Hmmm, still not working. Tried sending to my gf on T-mob and to myself. Neither worked.
Have changed the internet settings tho, thanks. I think that was probably what mine were originally wrong.
Anybody else? Who would be best to call, O2 or SE?

Its best to call O2 as it is most likely that it is a problem with them.

Their site has the following numbers:
"Customer Service for Consumers
08702 410 202
or short code 202
Calls are charged at the national rate*
Our phone service is open 8:00am - 8:00pm
Monday to Friday and 9:00am - 6:00pm at weekends
Customer Service for Online Consumers 0870 600 3009
Our phone service is open 8:00am - 9:00pm
Monday to Friday and 8:00am - 8:00pm at weekends
Select Customer Service 0800 03 21 402
Our phone service is open 8:00am - 8:00pm
Monday to Friday and 9:00am to 6:00pm at weekends"
What is SELECT customer service seeing as its the only freephone number?

A quote from another site
"O2 Select, as Ive understood it, is basically for those customers who pay over the odds each month on their contract... high payers essentially. Select customers gain access to a seperate customer service center (free call), and are eligible for various offers and promotions that may be running (such as free phones, accessories etc)."

Yeah, I'd give o2 a call and see what they have to say.

Apparently txt messaging is the last thing to go through when porting a number, so could take upto 24 hours. Didn't get told this at the time. Would've been good to know!

yup exactly what I was going to say when i read this thread...if your number has only been ported today thats most likely the reason - should be fine by tomorrow! You may be able to send/receive before then, usually upto 24 hours.

Right I just read an intray today at work, new connections with the new o2 prefixes have been suffering from not being able to send sms, once your number ports in should be ok, but if you have a new number you wont be able to send SMSs until its resolved and atm there isnt a timescale
