this is aditya from (punjab)india using airtel prepaid.
please help me . i am kind of hitting my head on a wall for last 20 days. i have activated airtel live on my nokia n70. but it is not working. it gets connected but after 3-4 minutes , a message comes "connection time out".
my settings r absolutely correct . i have talked to airtel customer executive for i think more than 15 times but they tell me to wait. Also, my connection manager shows the status "connected but inactive". before this i was using a hutch connection and had activated gprs on it but the same problem occured. please help me. there r so many experts on this site.

i am no expert but even i too had the same problem when i first activated airtel live but then somehow it just dissapeared

this is wat i did 2 my phone

"connection time out" occurs only if u leave ur browser untouched for some time..... ne way u said that in the connections manager the status is connected but inactive thats normal if there is no data transfer going on.... to test whether the connection is ok just click on any link in airtel live and check immediately in connections manager the flow between the sent and received data check the speed too.... the up arrow as well as down arrow.... if u can sent data & receive then there is no problem with the connection

now only thing left here is to change some settings in ur phone..... u said that the settings of airtel live where correct but incase just verify it once again

in connections->access points
connection name:airtel live
data bearer:gprs
acesspoint:airtelfun.com
username:none
promt password:no
authentication:normal
homepage:http://live.airtelworld.com
phone ip address:automatic
leave primary and secondary server
proxr server address:100.1.200.99
proxy port:8080

now open settings connection goto gprs
try changing gprs connection when needed to when available
access point:airtelfun.com

now in data call
online time:unlimited

now go to streaming settings
network
default access point:airtellive
online time:unlimited
connection time out:pick the highest
server time out:pick the highest

lastly open ur browser clear ur cache and allow cookies

now restart the phone and check it once again.......goodluck
