@greeny: yes repacked phones. most of the phones sold here in lhr are repacked after they been used for a few days or a week. the shops in hafeez centre are notorious for this and i've personally seen it happening. most of the low-end and top-end phones suffer this fate.

Yeah nyb is right. I got a brand new k810 and guess what? A cut on the left side, no screen protector, and the camera cover was badly scratched
i went with about seven friends and screamed my head out at the shop keeper. It was branded on 3 mobile. He couldn't do anything about it but i was ANGRY so he just gave me a hefty discount a new cyber shot for sixteen thousand bucks instead of twenty one and there was a 512 card inside instead of the standard 128 so i guess i wasn't really ripped off 
But i'm sticking with second hand ones. I got my w880i for 12 which is what the phone is worth in my opinion. It has NOTHING to give it a twenty-plus price tag.
New phones aren't wise these days. Just opening the seal sets you back around a grand, depending on the model. Talk about virgin phones!

@NYB never ever bought any mobile from Hafeez center but my all notebook are purchase from Mas Computers. Compaq was without any box (brand new) but it had screen protector n non original carrying case , same for pavilion. (Both notebooks i received as gift from my family) and i forgot to say tat HP was brand new too. But now wat u r telling about Hafeez center's shop im not sure if they were used or not. But im quite sure about my Vaio cause it was packed n sealed i broke seal myself. As for mobile Dad always trust Mobile zone my N91 was pack n sealed same for D480 n N93 mobile zone wala custmor k samany box khul ker inko set check kernay ka time deytay hein n they are bound to satisfied their custmor about any line or scratchs on new set aur agr ho tou they will change ( mean jo box aap khula rehein is mein ko kharabi honay ki surat mein they will open another box for u haan per agr asa hai k after breaking seal aap ko design acha nahi lag raha tou thats nt their prob)

Its not just mobile zone, all companies do the same. Problem was, k810 was a surprise for me and i opened it at home wrapped in gift paper. That's why i didn't get a replacement piece
but repackaging is easy yar. You have no guarantee that your phones have not been used before. My pavilion came from dubai. It was opened there but i asked for pics and a trusted relative snapped pics while my cousin greedily tore every bit of plastic on it. I still have it and love it. Customer support sucks, but there's so much talent here in pakistan that young kids easily detect the problem and correct it. Customer service people are like, stupid, slow and robotic.
Same with cell phones. Almost every problem can be cured by the kids here. Heck, they've even learnt to change the imei on stolen phones!

free sms aur GPRS k liye network ka thora sa dheela hona zarori hai matlab free sms k liye aap ko message center number change karna parta hai to any other message center number. ye cheez ma ne bhi check ki hai par yahan kaam nahi karti. it is not about talent it is about network. same applies to GPRS.

@shuak: i dunno the details but they copy past it on the phone after flashing it...like u buy a stolen n95 for around 15000 bucks say? and datz real cheap...then u buy the cheapest nokia phone u can find, say an 1100 for around 1500 bucks..then u take them both to the guy and he copies the imei of the 1100 to the n95...u discard the 1100 and start using the n95...the network operator gets the imei of a nokia phone...good...upon researching, the operator finds that it is the imei of an 1100 NOT reported stolen OR lost...so all networks think u r a ghareeb ka bacha using an 1100 but in fact ur using AN N95!!!!!!!!!!!! yeh hai pakistan ka jadoo....and i agree...kash they used it for good stuff...they;d help pakland prosper
@greeny: there have been LOADS of such tricks...but hum logon nay unn ko itna BEDARDI say istamaal kiya k the network operators were forced to rectify their mistakes and close all loopholes..here are some examples:
1, the most recent one was using a ufone sim, and in the message centre number, u enter the msg centre number of MOBILINK...send an sms...the phone will give an error that msg not sent or sumthin like that, but the msg ACTUALLY goes..it was tough for me since m used to delivery reports but it saves money! error deta hai par msg jaata hai! khair, its over now
2, then there was the voice mail wala ghapla...we had this secret number, which we called mufta code...it was a long while ago and i have forgotten the procedure, but it was something like sending free voice mails and receiving them free..on ufone only...much better than calls or texting..just send a voice mail and ta da! ur done...FREE!

Another thing i read on mobile msn tech news one 17 years old boy has known the way of unlocking iphone, n he is using iphone wid Tmobile now but before this one can only use AT& network wid it. According to them now iphone can be use in overseas country like US.

@NYB Well, Left arm per aik redish a patch kafi dinno se tha..I was applying Dove on it..but last week se its was spreading to mom said i should see the Doctor. And you know kitna rush hota hai hospitals mein. There was a lambi line of patients waiting for Doc..phele to doc hi aik hour late aye then humari baari 5th thi... puray 3 hours waste hovay...kheir..he said fungus hai..weather ki waja se....i am applying "bonalfa" on it... but what i saw in hospital today was extremely horrible , A guy arround 30/35 there was pus/infection on his cheek and you know what? iskay gaal mein infection ki waja se sorakh hochuka tha...no one can see tat scene..My mom asked me to not to look as his side...mujhe nahi pata tha and me stupid ke kia hai asa I looked there...Allah maaf keray...Allah bless all of us...janay kia kia dieases hotein hein...We should always thankful to Allah jee jinhoon ne hum kai logon se behter rakha hova hai..abi bi jab is person ka face sochti hon tou meray roongtay kharay hon jatay hein.
