Pic size is not so small so it needs time rendering

Thanks Guys. I tested it at my friend's W880i too. Everything is normal. Thanks to all.

This is more of a problem than anything else, but can anyone help???

My k800i is showing "No Network". It's not the location because it shows it to me everywhere. I recently took it apart to change the face.... ever since then it hasn't been giving me any service at all. Does anyone have a clue as to what's going on?

To boost from 3megapixels to 5megapixels, type **#665*54*# on the main menu.. it will give an option to chose from 3.2megapixels - 5.4megapixels.

Posted by tranced
you cant boost it up to 5.4mp. maybe it's an error. what resolution do you get? can you take a pic and post its EXIF?

Posted by max_wedge
I think he's making it up. I get nothing.

Besides as you say, you can't make a physical sensor from 3 to 5mp with a few keystrokes! It could I suppose be interpolation. But I'm sceptical such a function exists. And interpolation would be pretty useless anyway.

If I try this on standbyscreen (main input), my left softkey changes to "send" and when I push it, I get "netwerk problem" or "unknown application". Thats it. So this code IS trying to do something, but what? In main menu it doesn't do anything at all.

hiya,

i think if you start any call with * and end with # it changes to 'send' instead of 'call'

i tried this and it didnt work for me, i tried it from the main menu and from the blank screen?

Im intrigued to know if anyone has got this to work though?

whenever you add a # to the end of a string of numbers in standby, you get "send" on the left softkey. For example 12345678# also cause the left softkey to change to "send". So it's got nothing to do with the code per se, it's just a function of the phone to recognise "#" as a code that indicates that the preceding numbers are part of a network specific feature, such as changing call diversion or call waiting etc.

I have one question, and I'm sure some of you who have 2 GB M2+K800i know the answer.
Well, I have K800i, and 1 GB M2 Sandisk memory card. I'm planing to buy 2 GB M2, I know that K800i supports it, but I have one doubt. Will my phone work slower with it, compared to how it works with 1 GB card?
Thanks in advance!

I had a 525 MB M2 Sony card in my K800i from start, then I bought a 1GB Sony M2 card, and after a while a 2 GB Sandisk M2. Now, I have a Sandisk 4GB M2 card in my phone. I cannot tell any difference in speed at normal handling regardless of which of the cards I use. Maybe, the startup time is somwehat slower with the bigger cards, but nothing remarkable. The access time is the same for al lthe cards. The only thing that is really much slower with the big cards is when you want to make a backup of the whole card to the computer, especially if you use bluetooth as connection, but also with the cable connection, simply because the larger amount of data to be transported.

read the post directly above yours....

Exactly, no problems at all with 4GB. What I have heard, it supports 8GB as well, even though there is a bug in the function that reports free memory, which only thinks it's 4GB. There are no such problems with 4GB though.

I am now running a 4GB M2 card and there is a fairly serious problem if you are running the original firmware (R1CB001), as I am.

The Java engine does not seem to be able to properly handle a 4GB memory card. Any applications I had installed on the memory card (after I copied the contents of my 2GB card to my 4GB card via a USB pc connection) fail when you try to start them, and you cannot install any java games or applications on the 4GB memory card.

I got round this by transferring the applications installed on the 2GB card to the internal phone memory using the menu option (More -> Move to Phone) and running Java apps and games from there, and just using the 4GB card for music and photos.

I do not know if this issue has been corrected on subsequent firmware updates, but I am unwilling to try an update as I want to keep all my SMS messages intact, and I read conflicting reports on whether upgrading the firmware deletes all SMS messages that are stored. Is anyone able to reliably state whether SMS messages are deleted during a firmware update?

messages are not deleted when you do a SEUS update.

You can also use MyPhoneExplorer (or even SE PC Suite) to backup messages to the computer.

However I'd be surprised if the JAVA engine cannot handle 4GB cards. I would try formatting the memcard first. JAVA really doesn't know or care what size memory is. It uses an API to access the memory card so it's only using the phone's own memory addressing system. If JAVA couldn't write to the card then neither could the phone imo.

Update your phone with SEUS: http://www.sonyericsson.com/d[....]e_Service_Setup-2.7.9.14-1.exe
Then format your 4GB M2 only FAT32.

On my K800@K810 R6BC002 4GB Sony M2 work fine and faster when compare with my old 1 GB Sony M2.
Photos with date and time save 6 s. ( with my old 1 GB Sony M2 -> 10 s. ) , without date and time 3 s.
Open video player with 3 GB videos for 7 s.

Thanks for that, Max. Perhaps I'll feel brave enough to try it then.

So, those of you with a 4GB M2 card can install and use apps on the 4GB card? I wonder why it fails on mine then? I did format the card via the PC cable as FAT32, by the way. Perhaps a newer firmware is the answer.

I'ii try on my 2gb m2 it maybe faster

If you have a Notebook with bluetooth functionality you can install the SE software and control the mouse movements, mouse clicks etc with the K800 joystick. You can also play music/movies directly from your phone onto the computer...

I had fun with this while my gf was using the notebook and she thought it was possesed

Have fun...
