hi i have a k800i on orange and i put a phone lock code on it for if any one tried to steal it and i have forgot the code and can't get into my phone

would i have to flash the phone or is there a way around it

Contact your phone network would be my first suggestion they may have an unlock code which will unlock your phone (you could try a master reset but this probably would not work).

A friend of mine has a Sony Ericsson K800i on o2 UK.

It has various software problems.

1) Bluetooth Connectivity (drops randomly)
2) Thumbnails sometimes duplicate and sometimes show the wrong thumbnail image.
3) Phone Crashes randomly
4) Best Pic Option does not work

I tried update it about a month ago on seus and it said i had up to date firmware but having checked on the net my firmware dates back to july 2007.

Are there no new updates for K800i on o2 UK?

If so will it cure all the above faults?

Also second problem was that when shopping around town text message beeps happened and when the phone was checked somehow 4 games had been ordered off the sim card (My friend had not done this (I was with him at the time, there were no games on the phone and the data counter was zero).
Now he is trying to get the money back off o2 and they dont want to give it back.

A bugged phone and now being visited by The Sheriff of (o2) Nottingham or some idiot who may have ordered games with the wrong mobile number.

Either way my friens is on a fight to get the airtime back with my local trading standards from o2.

I am going to try and use xs++ and see whether xs++ v3.1 to try and reset the code. The problem with the k800 on o2 sounds like a virus to me but could also be a hardware fault

I'm trying to update my K800 from R1KG001 (EU4) to R8BF003 by SEUS but getting the message "update not available". Tried two different K800 both with the same result. According to SonyEricsson support center the update is available. Any ideas?

I would try and use xs++ but it isn't working for me. I still cannot get my phone to connect up and i have tried everything, even installing pc suite first. Do you have to be connected to the internet at the time or what??? Please help me!!!

After I use SEUS on my K800i, It updates my mobile phone's software and I get this..

but when I surf the Yahoo! website and try to download Yahoo Go, they told me that I have to get the latest Firmawe because its not yet updated.

How come every time I tried to check my phone for the latest update, they (Sony Erricsson site) keep on telling me that its already updated?

Can someone tell me what are the following Software versions and their release dates? And where can I find them If I can't do it or get the latest via my K800i, at least I can download it via PC.

I've already registered an account in this Chinese page (in fact, this account is registered by my friend, i cant read Chinese), but it says i must have enough points to download anything. I cant get point by joining this forum and posting something, as i could not understand Chinese.

Hi all,
I have a serious problem with my k800, i can't hear nothing through the ear-piece when i'm making or receiving a call

(putting it on speaker seems to do the job but it ain't no ear-piece

, handsfree doesn't work either )

I had this problem before but it fixed its self after i connected and disconnected the phone from the computer, but now it doesn't seem to work. I've tried re-booting the phone, leaving the battery out for a few minutes but it's not working...

Right now the phone has R1GB001 firmware and i'm tempted to upgrade but i don't know if it's worth going to CID 53...
btw, can i upgrade firmware without going to CID 53 ?
Do you have any suggestions ? thx

In my opinion it doesnt worth yet to upgrade to cid 53 since there's no way to modify cid 53 for now. U can upgrade the firmare using setool2lite or xs++ without upgrading the CID bro.. U can find what files u need to upgrade on tutorial

Good news ...
It seems that my k800 has a habbit of mending its self, after a day of talking on it only over the speaker today when i received a call i forgot to put it on speeker and just put it to my ear ... and the earphone was working

Looks like i won't be upgrading it at least until CID 53 is moddable

Had a few problems with my K800 today (wouldn't power on/red IR LED flashing) and after I fixed it I thought I might as well get it upgraded to the latest firmware while I was at it.. now I think I preferred how it was before.

It was originally an unlocked Vodafone UK (CDA102511/15) model with R1CE001 firmware and I flashed it for the first time to R8BF003 - flashed ok, no problems.

However, the new firmware seems to be lacking a couple of features which I used all the time and I can't believe they're not standard features in new firmware!? - first thing is there is no popup shortcut window on the home screen, which was great for keeping a list of common shortcuts and also managing Java apps when you have a few running at the same time.

Second, I no longer seem to be able to use the K800 as a bluetooth remote control (HID) for my laptop.. is this really not a standard feature in these firmwares?

I didn't really mind how the phone ran before (it was a bit sluggish), but after seeing the list of bug fixes and improvements thought I might as well, and having track titles show up on my bluetooth headphones is also a nice bonus.. but if I knew these 2 features above would be lost I wouldn't have bothered.

Could anyone tell me if any other newer firmware apart from R8BF003 has these features, or if it's at least possible to install bluetooth HID function?
If not, I would appreciate if anyone has a link to original Vodafone R1CE001 firmware so I can downgrade.

EDIT: right, found out that the call/hang-up buttons are now remapped to being internet/popup menu buttons, and found remote control is now in Entertainment (although the backgrounds for hid files is not full-screen?).. would still prefer to go back to Vodafone branding tho, so if anyone could point me in the right direction for the firmware I'd appreciate it.

Found R1KG001 Vodafone version and have flashed it again.. but I've got a problem with the toolbar on this one too - it only seems to come up when a new event occurs, and there is no way to call it up otherwise!? It's pretty stupid as the top-right key is doing nothing when on the home screen. Is there any way to get to the toolbar manually?

For me the only real bonus over the original firmware is that the track display is working on the bluetooth headphones, but I'd take the convenience of the toolbar shortcuts over that, so if anyone has a solution or otherwise a link to the original firmware I would still appreciate any suggestions.

-The finalization was done by xs++ (europe 3).

The problem is that I don't have the Dutch language anymore...
Therefore I need Europe 3 or better the Belgium-version.

Hi,

You could always flash to k810i (R8BA024)- Europe 3 is available for that I think. Worked good for me.

I just flashed mine k800 R1JG001 M_EST_N_AFR with GENERIC_S_ASIA_LEVAN R8BF003 and so far so good. I have got latest text, video cam drivers and JAVA 7.7 but the phone still reads M_EST_N_AFR in software info under service menu. below is log dump

What are the exact differences between R8BA024 and the newer R8BF003.

The only thing I can see is an newer LCD version. Has this made a difference?

now i dont get the 123 option when pressing # while writing a message...

Menu > Settings > General > Language > Writing language > mark all then click Save

I just wanted to remove java security as well as be able to apply some patches..

i really want patch that removes sms delivery report after 5 seconds..
