What about the keypad lighting problem in this K800i with R6 K810i firmware? Still exist?

Posted by darrengf
@kkotsianis
Have you noticed anything different with the new K810 firmware?

I have the R1KG which i cant find a fault with.

I dont mind updating though. just wnting to know if there are any changes?

Posted by kkotsianis
I can't find any differences with Java platform, though i don't use applications or games too much.

But,pictures are now save faster than R1KG001,in which sometimes pics took very long time to save and also

The text in PhotoFix function has changed. In previous firmwares, there were 2 options when you clicked the PhotoFix indication:OK and Undo. Now,there are:Save and Cancel.

Also,i feel the phone a little bit faster.

That's all for this moment

_edit:The keypad light problem exists.I'm sure that there are some hardware differences in K810's leds, combined with some software differences________________

how bout the video preview function? is it back?

Posted by activeforce
Anyone located in the Netherlands who has updated there phone using FOTA or SEUS? if so what firmware do you have? and which service did you use FOTA or SEUS?

Posted by darrengf
K810 ** with R1KG and R6BC
If you take a 3mb shot on the camera to the m2 card (mine is a Sandisk 2GB)

If you have the Date and time on, It saves in a whopping 14 seconds.
If you take it with out the date and Time on it takes 4 seconds.

If you save it to the Mem on the phone, with the date on it takes 6 seconds and without the date 3 seconds.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Also I updated My k810i to r6BC002 from R1KG and noticed nothing new. Video preview isnt back, but the phone and i can confirm this is general more responsive

still no APAC version in SEUS.

I got APAC R1KG001 via Wotanserver a week ago. Wonder why SEUS is way too late releasing this version while other regions already got it over a month ago.

Posted by sapiansays
hey i was able to update to R1KG001 on SEUS today. i have APAC phone. been checking for awhile now and it finally showed up.

i did find an issue. i wanted to see if anyone else noticed it.

when i accidently click on the internet globe button, it now brings up the internet browser. it no longer requires holding it down for couple of seconds. back in R1ED001, it was fixed.

- SEUS update only: You must now press the Internet key for a couple of seconds to bring up the browser. This is to prevent accidental connection to the Internet.

seems to me R1ED001 reverted back to the issue of instant internet access by accidently clicking or even nudging the internet globe button.

anyone else have this? was this on purpose? i don't like it one bit. is there a way to revert back to previous firmware without using wotan or davinci?

i have a question....
I have seus instaled on my pc. i updated my firmware on k800i once using seus.
how can i upgrade to R1KG001 (i have now R1GB001) if i dont have eny credit card or anything.
i checked and R1KG001 supports my language.
i gues that this firmware is the latest for k800i but seus says that i have the latest one on my phone(whitch is not true)
is it possible to dowload somehow this firmware on my pc and force seus to upgrade my phone. and where can i find this firmware for free, cause i cannot pay anything via internet.

thanx.

There is no R1KG001 on SEUS for HK version.

I updated my K800i a couple of weeks ago using SEUS.

It now thinks it's a W850i

I first noticed when I discovered that the camera wasn't working. Tried to do another update and can confirm that when doing the last update the K800i was selected (SEUS shows the last phone updated). The update now says the phone is already up-to-date, I chose to continue, and ran the update again. Still thinks its a W850i. No Camera. Cant remove the anoying scrolling menu.

3 UK network
R1KG001
EROM: R3A011
Camera: 2.5
Video Call Camera: 3.0 ?!?!

Any ideas what I should do next?

It's a common problem for 3 UK SEUS. Visit a service centre or buy a 7 EURO log at Wotan to do a full flash by yourself. Good luck.

No, I'm afraid. You can't do it without paying especially if your CID is 52 now. Why would you do that anyway? No problem with quick access of browser key I think.

Exactly. Wotan--and SEUS is likely too--doesn't list any HongKong R1KG001. Just Generic, China and Taiwan plus operator-branded. You have to wait?

Thanks for the info, probably easier to use Wotan. Can anyone confirm this will work, and if so which firmware do I need? Also my EROM is version R3A011 do I need to update this also?

Posted by aremaboy
Wotan will ask you to upgrade the old EROM automatically. Do you intend to debrand? Choose any Generic R1KG001 CID 52. It's the latest. If not, just choose any 3UK latest firmware. But I don't know if it keeps the mixed-up firmware issue. I do suggest that you debrand as it eliminates many problems.

Would Generic Europe 2[EUROPE_2] be a good choice?

Posted by aremaboy
Sure, any Generic as it always contains English. You can check the language packages for each CDA. Europe 5, for example, contains French, Italian and German in addition to English. APAC has Malaysian, Indonesian and Tagalog. So, it's up to you, what languages you need.

I confirm the lastest Wotan 3Uk R1KG001 is the correct firmware and does not flash your phone to a w850i like the SEUS does. I also upgraded my erom and it works great.

Can you confirm the ability to minimise a file transfer window when sending/receiving a file over Bluetooth on the R6BC002 firmware?

Thanks Scoop - I went for the 3UK R1KG001 and updated my EROM. All appears to be ok now.

I have this same issue after upgrading my "3" K800i. I updated my phone using the Sony Ericsson update service. Prior to the update, my K800i ‘3’ branded phone was on firmware R1JE001 and the Sony update centre updated the handset to R1KG001.

Since the upgrade I have experiences the following problems:
1. The camera does not work and flashes an error message briefly on the screen stating that an application is already running.
2. When entering the menu another message flashes up stating that the memory is unstable.
3. The shortcut key is no longer showing any shortcuts.

I have tried a master reset on the handset and also re-updated the phone with the Sony Ericsson update service, which again stated that the update was successful, but did not alter the situation with the phone.

No its the same as any other firmware. Sorry

OK.

Are there any differences then?

Jon

Posted by darrengf
I cant see any. But that doesnt mean there isnt any.

I can tell you that the phone feels and is more responsive.

Camera saves pics faster, but thats about all

Posted by GeForce
OK thanks.

Do you have any idea when this will be released on SEUS?

I'd like to see some sample R6BC002 photos. I'd like to see some improvement in the JPG compression.

Go to Wotan and flash using the 3uk firmware and all will be sorted.

Hi

I updated to R1KG001 by SEUS yesterday, the update went fine, so I put in my SIM card and M2 card aftewards.
Next thing I know, after two minutes my phone restarts, though it was a once off, but it kept on happening.
After searching on the web a person with a different model had the same problem,so I backed up the M2 Card and formatted it, hey presto, no more restarts.
Copied across all my old files (except music files), phone stable.

When I copied across a few music files, the phone is back to restarting, so im assuming it something to do with the naming I have on the tracks.
Has anyone seen this before???

I have updated my K800i via SEUS many times and this never happens. I always took out my M2 before updating.

Posted by cableguy
I always take out my M2 Card, when doing a firmware update.

For some reason it doesnt like the Band "Aha" so i have just left them out, copied across 20 folders at a time, checked phone doesnt restart, seems to be ok now, Very strange !!

Cheers for the advice.

I have already sent my handset into sony for repair. Lets see if it is still unlocked when it comes back, as I purchased the unlock code from "3"

Anyone with a K810 running R6BC002 check the RSS reader. I've updated my K810 to this and the RSS reader won't update

Posted by aremaboy
Try to change the setting of your RSS Feeds: Setting- Allow Connection- Any Network. See what happens.

That's not a firmware problem. I'm still on R1KG001 and suddenly my RSS is not updating either.

Thanks, Just update to R1KG APAC. Have not tried the MP3 and will try later. All else seems fine.

Just wondering. Is EROM R3A022 already available in wotan? I saw Kulankendi is planning to add it in the near future but he want to wait until he is sattisfied with the process. Looking forward to update my EROM to R3A022.

Edit: Fill about 30 MP3 file and all seems OK. Also I think the speaker volume is a bit bigger than the last time I tried R1GB? Not really sure about this though. Also believe it or not my joystick seems more responsive after updating firmware.
