Same here, strange, but true. Service menu : 2:43:33, Call timers : 1:32:24 ....?

Hi!

I've found a bug that nobody had written before...

In PhotoDj the Frosted Glass effect does nothing! The other effects work...

Anybody else???

And another bad experience:
After 3 days use with rare "white auto reboots" the phone crashed 2-60 sec after switch on or when I tried to use some files or open Contacts ... it simply didn't respond....For last try I made a Master Reset!
Since it works perfectly!
From that time there was no reboots at all!
I think the cause was file system corruption.... So make frequent backups!

My phone:
K800i
CXC1250210
R1CB001
060608
Sony Ericsson

It's a little bit strange, because it is T-Mobile (Hungarian) branded!!! Why it isn't R1CF001??????
R1CB001 souldn't be unbranded?

Thanks

Wow your right! frosted glass doesn't do anything in the photo DJ..! Another bug to the list... i hope a new firmware is released soon...

Ok it definetly doesn't work for me. I even saved the picture after adding the effect on it, despite the picture looking like i had never added aything. After saving there is no effect.

Firmware:

CXC1250215
R1CB001
060608
Hong Kong

Posted by farkasg
Ooops...
It really works... but I can see the result only in 8x magnification.... Not the most useful effect in a phone screen I think

Sorry for the false alarm

Posted by drich290195
Why would wotan put up R1CF001, on their site thought they only put on unbranded versions whats the point in hosting a branded one

Posted by afoi
I cant get the effect apply on any photo which I snapped. However I can with the "icon" antz88c did on the first image.. weird.... and my call log just didnt function today.. sigh...

anyone here missed any sms? I think some of the sms which I received and replied just now, gone missing in action. However my friend recived it. Just missing from my phone folder.

It seems like getting more and more problem... sigh.. NEW FIRMWARE!!!

Posted by antz88c
afoi.. frosted glass is working, you just need to magnify or transfer it to your pc to see the effect.

i dont have any problems receiving/sending sms and mms, all sent sms/mms are saved inside the 'Sent messages' folder.

maybe a restart will correct the problem.

Posted by Julleman
Anyone else?
I use "Delivery report" for sms, when the delivery report arrives the clock is 2 hours ahead.
Example, sending a sms 10.05, delivery report says 12:05.

I am not sure this is a bug. It's just that the first phase (some sort of initialisation) is completed very quickly, whereas the actual copying of the contacts to the SIM is rather slow. Just the sort of thing you would expect when installing software, or copying a bunch of files, on a PC.

I agree with this. Updated the first post accordingly.

I have had my K800 for nearly a week, and have three bugs to add to your firmware overview:

File manager Browsing Bug
Ordinarily, when in the File manager, pressing keys 1-9 would open the corrosponding folder, however in the K800 pressing these keys annoyingly brings up an alphabet search similar to in the Contacts. Interestingly, even this doesn't work properly, when 'Camera album' is selected and a button pressed, the phone will always only highlight the 'Other' folder, and when any other folder is highlighted, pressing a button will always highlight 'Camera Album'. It makes much more sense to have the number keys open up the corrosponding folder.

Dialogue box pressing OK Bug
After adding an appointment, a message is displayed saying 'Appointment Added' with the option to press OK, however pressing OK always skips through the dialogue box and ends up selecting 'Add Appointment.' This happens with other dialogue boxes throughout the phone, where the message displays for too short a time to warrant an OK button.

Menu Title Bug
When in the main menu and selecting an area (other than messaging) with a number key, and then returning to the main menu by pressing the back button, the correct menu option will be highlighted, but the title will still read 'Messaging'.

The following could be considered bugs, or annoyances - I'll leave that to your discretion, but still wanted to include them for interests sake.

New Events Annoyance
Already reported here for the K750 I believe - it looks sloppy that the (o) brackets are smack bang next to the title rather than a space apart. E.g. 'New events(1)' rather than 'New events (1)'. How hard can this be to fix? It looks messy.

Working Bar Annoyance
The loading/working bar sometimes behaves strangely depending on the task at hand, e.g. transfering items between the phone and MS. And how ugly does it want to be?! We are surrounded by some fantastic anti-aliased eye-candy in the UI, and then we get this old Nokia-esque loading bar thrown into the mix! Why on earth?

also, i think i have mentioned it some where, but when deleting files from file manager, say from the games folder for example, it deletes and while deleting it goes back to the main folder and then goes back into that folder you are deleting from.
On the k750 and w810 it didnt do this, im guessing its a minor bug....

Posted by Daisun
I also noticed that i couldn't search through my phonebook by typing in a full name. It only allows single letter searches.. Now if i haven't mistaken i remember that in the k750 and w800 fullname searches were possible...

Anyone else with this?

Oh and i also found that file browser bug mentioned above, no matter what letter i press it jumps straight to the others folder.

I can search for as many letters as I want. Just press the letters in a sequence and you will see that it searches for you.

About the total time bug, it's not double for me. Instead it only differs about 40 seconds.

EDIT: They say they have the generic R1CF001 firmware. Look here:

Are you saying that you think this is indeed the new firmware? and T-Mobile (or whoever) just got their branded version out first? Cheers.

Posted by blunden

I have the same version although my CXC version is CXC1250210 rather than CXC1250215 like yours is.
But other than that i have the same RC1 file and 060608 files and mines a sim free model that i bought off ebay.
But i cant find the phonebook search option in my menu....

Posted by obentou
The call timer bug is apparent in the K790i as well.

As for the menu selection bug, ie. pressing a # and returning, it doesn't happen to me.

R1CC003.

Posted by b3rx
i think the menu maping bug is only seen in the k800i. i have it and i never knew i had it until it was mention by someone here.

Posted by bulti48
Whilst I am genuinely happy with my k800i I would like to point out the following defects (bugs) I experience and wonder if these problems are unique or generally shared....?

* In any circumstances, selecting keypad tones 'on' (tone or click) the phone fails to produce a sound.
* The flash of the white screen just as all the lights dim to off and the phone goes into standby/sleep mode.
* Contact images appear when the person rings but not when they text.

Some of the 'bugs' others have reported are also apparent on my phone but for now I can live with them.

Are my problems firmware related?

I just type the letters when I'm in my phonebook and it does something similar to a slightly slower incremental search. I don't think there is a menu option for it, but there is no need for one.

www.se-world.info/firmwares.php?phone=62

It says R1CF001 is a new firmware for unbranded phones via SEUS...

Changelog:
* Störgeräusche im Radio entfernt
* Laustsprecher-Lautstärke erhöht
* Abschalten des Display bei Benutzung tritt nicht mehr auf

so roughly:
* Noises in Radio removed
* Loudspeaker volume increased
* Display switch-off when using do not arise

Well updated to R1cf001 fire away with questions

Posted by CyberVisitor
@mwarner

You are wrong about the progress bar. When you copy contacts from phone to sim, you will see that the border of the progress bar draws as the progress bar itself draws. That's not how it should be. The border should be there all the time as the the bar progresses from start to end.

Posted by mrwoll
Just tried updating through SEUS and there doesnt seem to be a new firmware release for the K800i.

Posted by drich290195
I did it through Wotan its generic unbranded their seems to be no standby clock now it just shuts screen of in standby after set time

Green line still present in recording

drich290195: Do you mean the option for standby clock is gone? How is the overall feal of it? They should put this firmware up on SEUS now, I want it.

Posted by obentou
That's really stupid, to kill off the standby clock.

Posted by drich290195
Sorry the clock is their got it wrong but the volume in media player is much more considerable louder

Posted by aremaboy
Come on, SEUS...I can't wait to update my toy K800 Generic unbranded to R1CF001 ASAP...my broadband connection is ready..any news on APAC ?

Posted by drich290195
After using for a few hours it does seem faster and the photo album does seem faster at making a photo become full resolution you know when it starts off fuzzy and sharpens up

Posted by aremaboy
So, any news on SEUS?

Posted by Dan_Aykroyd
yeha... wouldn't it work without deleting the .aec file?

Posted by obentou
Actually, the K790i DOES have the menu bug. I had to really play around with it though.

Yeh thats the problem, i cant do that on my k800i... it only allows to type a single letter...

@Daisun

it only means that your firmware doesnt allow multi-character search...
some asian firmwares really has that characteristic.

if you want, you can change firmwares... of course via third party softwares.
which is again... risks are involved.

Posted by Daisun
Oh.. ok thx for clearing that up, cause i changed my firmware to the HK one using wotanserver and i was beginning to think there was something wrong with it...

It seems that the R1CF001 is not a T-Mobile specific firmware. I have absolutely no branding and it says GENERIC on my phone (1 week old).

Posted by mrwoll
So this must mean that the current batch of k800i's are shipping with the new firmware. So it can only be a matter of time before it is released on SEUS.

Posted by aremaboy
I can't wait to update via SEUS. Anyway, SEUS always says that mine is the latest..no option to continue updating. Is that normal?
