Just clarify something for me please:

Will the w810 files fix the hissing noise or I should use both, the no_hissing files and w810 files for louder sound?
And what about the earphone files? Can I use the 3 sets or one of them fix the others too?

Posted by mongoose3800
As far as I know farfield_play will have no effect on the hissing through the headphones as it is the driver for the speaker. Yes- I did try it. To answer your question: The PHF_XXXX files are related to the headphones (Personal Hands Free). The Farfield_XXX relate to the speaker. If you look at the files in the accoustic folder they are logically named. As mentioned in my previous posts to this thread: I have experimented extensively with these drivers. As far as I am concerned, I am still happily using my loud V2 driver which is as loud (or louder) than the original R1BC driver and totally resolves the "hissing". I have not being able to find a better way to get rid of the hissing and maintain volume. I also think my loud version of farfield_play is louder than the w810 file when it comes to playing through the speaker.

Posted by flintolino
Ok that's what I wanted to know. If I needed to install the no_hissing pack and THEN install your/askd's driver, of if I could just intall the driver with all those files inside the .rar.

Hi, I wanna thank all ppl who have done tweaking the accoustic files!
I tried a lot,but these drivers work great on my w800i:
The_BEST_acoustic_profile.zip
Dont know anything about them, got em from a russian site.

I didn't like the farfield_play that much. I think it was too loud for the speaker. But, if you want louder than normal it does the job. I'm happy with the loudness of the orig driver.I'll have to give yours another go. But, all in all this driver only has an impact on the speaker not the headphones.

Bro,can you make an abit lower not so loud farfield_play file?
It would be best if can lower a notch down with maybe you try to figure out wats the tunnel efect is from?
The original drivers youre talking about is which one?R1BC002 or R1CA021?
Thanks mongoose!

These drivers seem to be identical to the R1BC dirvers except for farfield_play - which I have downloaded and am testing. I would say these drivers are from a w810. There are no changes to PHf_X_play files. So, still no fix to the hissing with PHF headphones. The only change I see in these drivers is the Speaker replay. I've downloaded it and it seems the same as previously posted w810 driver. I'm not sure if it's louder but it seems OK to me on my W800.

how obuot "the_BEST_acoustic_profile"?some1 has tested yet?
its better than the mongoose's ones?

Posted by tosinv
The_BEST_acoustic_profiles drivers are very good U can hera the startup sound and shutdown so loud, call sound is also good and the sound thru headphones is quite good plus mega bass is superb.

I guess there are good piece of drivers but choice is urs mongoose sound is very loud and u have to tweak equalizer to get the best sound.Mongoose drivers are great.

In my opinion if u want good volume as well as good bass u can opt for The_BEST_acoustic_profiles its good

Give a try

I gave the full suite a try. They are not the best. As far as playback through headphones goes the hissing/crackle/static is just as bad as the original R1BC driver. Not surprising considering every PHF_xxxx is identical. I also compared every other driver in this set to the orig R1BC files and only 5 files are different. Not one of them is related to playback through the headphones. For the record the 5 files that change in this version are: BT_HBH-65_call.apf, Farfield_play.apf, Farfield_ring.apf, handset_0_call.apf and notedoub.cfg. At best these files are affecting playback and ring through the speaker and perhaps sound of call through the phones ear piece. Farfield_ring.apf has little to no effect on ring volume. In fact if anything the Ring may have been slightly softer with more bass - which would make it harder to hear the phone ring in noisy areas. I didn't test the handset_0_call.apf and I've got no idea what notedoub.cfg does. Farfield_play seems to be the only worth while file in these drivers as it would seem it does increase the speaker volume.

Posted by ilabstudios
Hi guys!

I downloaded the best acoustics profile but I haven't tried it yet. I am currently just using the W810 farfield files and they seemed to increase the sound upon start up etc.. I just wanted to ask what do all these files represent sound wise, ie: PHF stand for Portable hands free I think.. because if I transfer all the files I wouldn't know what to listen out for to compare!

Posted by tosinv
Hi Monggose

U are right mate The best_acoustic files are not the best in real .I gues the farfield_play increase the speaker response but when u play a song it happened like this that whenever the vocals or beats come in the song the treble goes fade out and there is no beats or bass the treble goes well its like fading

I only figured out that the handset_0_call.aef is worth it as it really increase the calll volume

I like the farfield _play but can we make some modifications to it so the song play well not fades out .Its qiute loud i guess than the w810 farfield as well.

- copy over modded "handset_0_call.apf" from the folder to ifssettingsacoustic

Posted by mongoose3800
Bono.bel:

Restore your original files. Naturally, you would have backed up your old files first. If you really want to know which file causes the echo you perceive try testing each one of the five files that are different in the "best_acoustic" driver set. FYI they are: BT_HBH-65_call.apf, Farfield_play.apf, Farfield_ring.apf, handset_0_call.apf and notedoub.cfg.

My phone problem is that: I've accidentally some sound file in tpa\\preset\\system\\sound (I don't remember which file), and now when I go to service menu with >*<<*<*, I no longer can test my speaker and my earpiece. Can anyone instruct me how to solve this?

dipen01:

The interesting thing with w810 is that you don't here a hiss when you start the walkman. It's as if they turned off the output until you start playing a song. But the "hiss" is still there. All you need do to here it is play a song that starts off quietly. A good choice is a song that fades in and out. Play it at lowish volume. Queens bohemian Rhapsody is a good one - as it fades in and out at the beginning it sounds more like it crackles out. Once you become aware of it you will hear it in more and more songs. I can't describe it in any other way - you have to pick it up for yourself. I've been using my modded driver for weeks now and definitely do not have the problem anymore. Most of the earlier modded drivers posted in this forum do not fix the issue. The shame for w810 users is that you can not use FAR to fix the issue.

Which is your latest PHF driver, Loud V2 or some other?
Also, is the "earpiece" driver in the "best profile" different from the one posted here? I tried the one from this topic, but it sounds awful when you make a call.

Loud V2 is my latest. If you have a prob downloading it PM your email address and i'll send it to you. I'm happy sticking with the orig "earpiece" driver. I can't remember if I posted a different one. I know I quickly played with it.

Or if i put only "PHF_2_play.apf.LOUDV2" i can get it working ?? I was reading page by page ... but i started getting confused ... Could somebody "Clear" it for me ??

I think i've downloaded all the file here, but i really don't know how to use them. i have to put all of them ?? is there any order ?? Puting just one i'll get it working?? Bah ...

Sorry but i really got confused. Here is my e-mail (chakme@gmail.com), if someone think it's not necessary to post about it again, please send it by e-mail. I'll be very pleased !! And sorry for this long Topic ... =(
