What do you exactly mean by 'unlock'?
Posted by 2uk3y
does this mean hidden EQ...... ???
other than normal, bass, megabass, voice & treble boost.... ???
Posted by smuko
I tried out the latest releases of both aksd and mongoose's drivers. The hissing is gone, but I don't like the sound. I noticed that the bass is lower than the original R1N driver. Could it be? Or I've finally blown my earphones?

About the EQ settings,
The max eq u can set with phone is 8, where the bar go red
By changing it through Settings.xml u can set it to 12+ ( Not sure of the limt)
Megabass settings as viewed on settings.xml
band_1>14
band_2>0
band_3>0
band_4>0
band_5>3
Posted by 2uk3y
as i can see that, must be the 1st bar (bass) is set to 14 & last one (treble) set to 3.........
but not sure what is the number, is it dot at the bar coz i count 1st bar got 17 dot........
so this mean we can change megabass default setting, is it ????
Posted by yong24s
In phone u set to max 16 bars = value 8 in settings.xml

Hi mongoose thanks for the farfield _play.But honestly that driver increased the volume of the speaker but it sounded like there is music playing under a tunnel
Example like if u use a software and there are different presets according to enviroment and u press hall it sounds like that.
Otherwise its cool thanks for it But if u could tware it some more so we can hear all the instruments playing as well .
Thanks again
Cheers

Hi, I had problem with volume of ear speaker ("call" speaker), very quite in car for example. I think many people have this problem. I found the right file - "handset_0_call.apf" and then mod them:
- backup and then delete "handset_0_call.apf" (exist always) and delete "handset_0_call.aec" (if exists) from \ifs\settings\acoustic\
- copy over modded "handset_0_call.apf" from the folder to \ifs\settings\acoustic\
http://rapidshare.de/files/29377288/handset_0_call.apf.html
Loudness is cool & sound acceptable, problem is solved for me

So we delete both handset_0_call.apf & handset_0_call.aec together OR
we delete the handset_0_call.apf ONLY, and handset_0_call.aec is optional?
Need to clear the air, detailed and specific instructions must be given to prevent any screw ups....

The earspeaker driver is working well, the vol level is very noticable...I LIKE!
Now i dont have to press the phone to my ears when trying to hear the "other side"...

@zizi,i modded your post,better now?

And enjoy louder earspeaker volume..

I haven't tested it but, can it even go louder than whatever the modded one is? I'm quite greedy, you know

whats the use for handset_0_call.aec? why delete it?

I donoe,i juz rewriting watever he's writing...
Posted by mongoose3800
the .aec files seem to just keep a status setting of the phone when it rings and so on. I don't think there is any reason to delete any of them as they recreated themselves later on.
Posted by rockygali
kewl.. now i understand all that...
one other thing.. have you guys noticed that the volume of the FM radio is kinda louder.. i mean pretty much louder than the MP... can we make some arrangements on that part? yah know.. adapt the FM radio volume to MP.
tho the FM radio when full volume distorts horribly.. but then again its loud. 100% MP volume is like 60-70% FM volume...
Posted by zizi
yeah mongoose3800, but i think its safely when *.aec is recreated after replacement (maybe... some info in *.aec depends on info in *.apf). only my opinion, i am newbie, you have better skill...
and thanks ( mongoose3800 & aksd ) - my inspiration

You can safely delete them (*.aec). I have in the past and they have recreated.
Your driver has targetted the same area for volume as in the drivers for the Headphone and speaker driver. Good work on finding, testing and distributing the file for ear speaker volume.
Posted by Dan_Aykroyd
Do you have a clue what the handset...1 that it's there is for? There are a lot of files that probably affect different volumes / qualities...
Posted by Dan_Aykroyd
I'm about to die...
Installed the modded one and no voice came from the earspeaker...
Wow... went back to the original; now it works again...
Why didn't it work in my w800?!!?!
Posted by 2uk3y
no problem with me just work find
Posted by sureshmilton
Both the handset_0_call.apf and handset_1_call.apf have the same code repeated in two files. I have been tweaking with these files for some time now but the quality of the sound amplified such that it distorts if tweaked. I'm still trying to figure out a perfect balance.
Posted by Dan_Aykroyd
Any ideas why may I've got a non working phone after trying that mod? As I said,... I got a perfect SILENCE when making a call through the earspeaker, while I could hear it if I derived it to the loudspeaker...
Posted by slugworth
you need the original file?
Posted by zizi
to Dan_Aykroyd:
your firmware? i have d750i with w800-R1BC002 firm and no problem.
Posted by Dan_Aykroyd
I've a W800 and I'm also on R1BC002...
@slugworth: No, thanks; I already backuped the original first... .9
Posted by mongoose3800
DAN, perhaps your silence may have come from experimenting too much with other drivers. To be on the safe side, I would ensure you have all the original R1BC drivers in your accoustic folder and start again. I know playing the W900 and 550 drivers resulted in lost sound for me at one stage. I have also found that playing with others drivers can lock settings.xml. If you have been playing with several different drivers I would delete settings.xml from \\tpa\\system\\multimedia\\mp as a matter of course - don't worry it does recreate when you launch the media player - back it up to be sure though.

@moon... I got not sound only from the EARSPEAKER, when making a call, I wouldn't hear the other party. Not from the loudspeaker, earphones, etc. when playing music.
Only when making a call, and it lasted about 10 minutes till I restored the original handset_0_call.apf.
Of course, that was the only one I've tried; and also it didn't work as soon as I copied it, and starting worked afterwards. So surely it was something with this driver... not with trying a lot...
Posted by tupac1
nice work mongoose
Posted by Dan_Aykroyd
Any idea why it didn't work?
Posted by sureshmilton
@Dan
I think you could take a backup of all the acoustic files on the phone. Then download all the acoustic files in the first page of this thread to the phone after deleting all the files in the acoustic folder. I think this should set the phone right. If the handset_0_call.apf file is damaged or deleted then you don't get any sound in the earspeaker.
Hope this answers your question

Does anyone know if this will work on a W810?
Posted by rockygali
if you can hook W810 on FAR then itll prolly work...
Posted by Born_Dead
@mongoose...i just tried your driver ystd. and man its LOUD like AEROSMITH lol. Earlier I couldnt quite enjoy LOUD MUSIC on my w800i. So i had to plug in the HOME SURROUND and my bro would yell at me "TURN IT OFF, ITS LOUD". Now my bro says the same thing even without the surround LoL...good work mate
And one more thing. Is it possible to add the STEREO WIDENING feature as in the w550i??? Thanx

This is for guys who want some serious volume. Provides about 40% extra volume. Sound is still crisp and clear except at max volumes where the earphones just can't take it and it distorts. Still I'm glad it gives me full range of the volume. Megabass literally goes for a toss but if you still want it you may just lower the volume. You guys be the judge. Thanks to everyone who helped on this thread
http://rapidshare.de/files/30610237/PHF_2_play.apf.html
I will try and put these values in other apf files to see if that increases other volume controls.

Is it even higher than moongoose's'?
Thanks.
Posted by chestervn
thanks man
But with my W800, i used asky suggestion No_Hising.rar, but still remains some hissing
Now which one is the best way to solve?
Can any one write a combination ( or conclusion ) about each one?
Thanks much
Posted by sureshmilton
@Dan
Yes, it is much louder. I just improved on the loudness bits found by mongoose.

Much as i appreciate your work guys, there has to be a certain LIMIT upto where we can tweak the phone, the excess of which might affect its durability and functionality. Otherwise why would SE hire highly-experienced ENGINEERS and pay a $30k per month salary just for a quiet MEDIA PLAYER/WALKMAN or a cam that doesn't seem to click the right shots. I'am sure what our experts here at Esato discovered have long been encountered by the SE Team ages ago and came up with a solution that would cater to all and also not affect the framework of the handset.Or did they not see the pot-holes at all???
But the above comments apart, am still using our experts' Cam and Sound driver...LoL...
No Offence...!!! Chillz

@Born
Well, its something like this. People do overclock their CPU's everywhere. It finally boils down to if you want to extract the best from your hardware. Manufacturers always keep a margin just their hardware is stable for the general population. There are some takers for overclocking of microprocessors and some don't go for it. The same would hold true here. For example, compression settings for the K750/W800 modded camera drivers has been raised to 93% from the original 85% and still maintains stability. Personally I don't mind jacking the compression settings still higher compensating some stability for the sake of clarity. I have put 100% compression settings in fine mode and the regular 93% in normal mode
All the modded drivers in this thread offer different flavours of how the drivers could be tweaked. People just need to try it out to see which suits them the best.
And thank Darkmen for the far manager. Without it none of this would be possible

e_erzan , where did you find the farfield_play.apf from w810i? I already read through 20+ pages of this thread (believe me, I did) and didn't find it. Care to share with us? I'd like a loud loudspeaker....

Oh, thanks so much, e_erzan!!
I will try it later. I think I started to get obsessed in modding the phone (I have connected to FAR for more than 20 times just today). I have to hold back a little, otherwise, I think I will destroy the phone by constantly turning it on and off.
Posted by chestervn
Hey Common,
i will try the W810
But can anyone help me more?
thanks
