Basically, i just wanted to let the mods, and Laffen know, that I think you have an amazing site going here...
I'm a member at My-symbian, HoFo, mobile-review, and a few others, but esato just seems to win hands down for general mobile stuff.
For example, i recently got banned at Hofo, for posting something informative. (Someone made a thread asking about getting K790i's in the UK, so i straight away mentioned the fact that I have one for sale, and that would be a possible way for him to get it. I posted a link to my for sale thread at Hofo, and left it at that. I didn't post a link to my eBay auction anywhere.)
Now, i came back to thread a few times and answered peoples questions, and now i see I'm banned, for trying to sell things in the non-market forum... - but if someone else had linked to my thread, or eBay listing, it would be fine, and informative to say the least. It's Crazy.
The whole being unable to bump your for sale thing is rediculous too, because it means nobody replies to for sale threads, they just send you pm's, so even something with MASSIVE interest, gets knocked all the way down where nobody can find it...
Basically, i think HoFo is way too Over moderated.
Anyway, back to esato, and i think you guys have got the mix just right, just feel it needed to be said. (And it gave me a chance to have a rant about HoFo).

esato is the best organized, moderated and managed forum, thats sure. and next to it the one and only site on the whole internet, which was created once to honour one single brand... :-) ps: no need to mention the brilliant team, mods and members.

yes ... esato is super (alldough i'm a farely recent member) i find the site interesting and well moderated. can find loads of new stuff over here(about mobiles and firmware), and the people are really friendly

Well, that's the way it should be, and thankfully is here at Esato. But alot of the time i see the actions of Moderators taking away from the forum, and thus causing people to leave.
Hence why I congratulated the Mods. Obviously, if it wasn't for the rest of us, they wouldn't have much to do. But we are here, and they are doing a GREAT job.

@masey u can find such kind of threads here usually every month. imo it really shows how important for us esato is. of course, other forums have great members and support, BUT there is NO one like esato... and thats a FACT.

thankfully, to even out the cheery sentiments here, we also seem to see 'esato is deteriorated so much because of/since...' every month or so

Well, if it's deteriating every month, and yet, it is still the best by a long way anywhere, that would suggest that either it won't be for very long, or Esato has INFINITE brilliance.

Haha... Nice one daz. And yes, cheers to esato and the mods and members of esato. Even when i'm really tired after a long day at work, i still find the energy to check out the latest happenings at esato before i go to bed. Esato's probably the only forum i frequent regularly.

Not really, I don't think i've ever known someone to be banned from esato... Threads are deleted with good reason, and the moderators are very communicative and understanding...
Am I missing something?

it happened already, that members were banned. its really not an easy decision, but imo the mods handle in the first line for the interest of easto, not for own ones. of course, such decisions might cause some flamings among the members, but at the end of the day, who really loves and supports esato, get over it and look forward...
to be a mod, is just like to be a judge, sometimes there are only seconds to make the right decision. is a decision good or bad? imo there arent good or bad decisions. most important is, to make a decision, at least as i see...

Only kidding of course Ace (nice handle btw!), despite the odd problem or falling out Esato is a very friendly welcoming place especially to new members, the mob free zone is a good place to go for any non-phone related chat about (almost!) anything.
Very few people have been banned from here, only about 3 or 4 spring to mind in the couple of years I've been here, the mods are very good at sorting problems before it gets to 'ban' stage - though this doesn't count all the scammers we seem to get at at times which I haven't counted!

Ok, but there will inevitably be the people that should get banned, people that spam/are abusive/scammers etc... They aren't the people I'm worried about. It's when the whole thing gets over-controlled, and contributing becomes a scary prospect in case you're not abiding by some of the rules.
Hence why i think newbies feel they can post here, and that's a good thing...
And Scammers, well, there's not much you can do about it. I see threads popping up about certain deals in Nigeria, but they get shut down pretty quickly. It's an open forum, people will abuse it, but it seems to be dealt with smoothly and in a non-pervasive way here.

I wasn't really counting the scammers anyway, it's rare that a 'regular' member gets banned.
But anyway, I don't want the skew this into a discussion about bans!

Just have to jump onto this bandwagen,
I've been using this site for 2 years or so and find it to be a great tool for the mobile industry. Much of the time I actually refer my best clients/customers to this site for tips and general help with SE issues. They get good feedback EVERY time!!!
