@CaRMaN, how did you make your desktop look like a Mac? Pretty cool I gotta say.
Also, how do I get the quick launch buttons to form one row on the task bar like kahmeelo and joebmc have done?
[ This Message was edited by: deluded on 2006-10-23 16:32 ]
Posted by Danny_BFC
1. If you right click the taskbar and uncheck 'lock the taskbar', then drag along the 7 little dots next to the quick launch icons.
2. Uninstalling the program should wipe it out. If that don't work have you just tried pressing delete ?:P
Posted by deluded
Hmm... Dragging the dots allows me to have all the quick launch buttons on the first row, but then the tabs for my open windows will be forced to the right, they don't go down to the next row. Regarding the other question, I did a search and found an answer. The icon's not deletable from the desktop, gotta mess around with regedit to get rid of some values.

Yup, it does. It's currently displaying both the time and day. Is it possible to change the day to date instead?
Posted by deluded
I've found a program that allows you to customize the clock display in the taskbar. It's a nifty little program and works pretty well so far. Here's the link:
http://www.rcis.co.za/dale/tclockex/
And if anyone wants to know how it looks like, here's a screenshot of my desktop. It's the one on the bottom right in the taskbar.

I just used a mac skin for windows, then added the dock by using the program 'ObjectDock'. MSN and Firefox also have their own skins.
Posted by deluded
Cool! Does the Mac skin require any other program to install? Mind posting the links to the theme as well as the skins here? Cheers!

Really? I hate having loads of shortcuts, like to keep it as simple as possible with only what I really want out.

Well, mine laptop has more balls than your pc, 2ghz L2 4mb, 2gb 667mhz ram, 160gb hd, and a radeon x1700, screen running at a native res of 1680x1050.
Notice the 4.3 Score
And ofcourse, vista ultimate:
Posted by Johnex
Just to keep bragging, here is a video of the dream scene in action, sorry for the lag, notice that the cpu is running above 90%, cos fraps was not made to handle vista and aero

I suspect its your graphics card memory and system memory thats might be letting this down
aero requires 128mb graphics card but can run with a 64mb graphic card if you have 1gb ram (so I've read in a few places)
Posted by fatreg
hmmmm its a 128mb graphics card...
im gonna have to have a bash at editing my mac bios and let it run vista as a native OS and not using parallels.
see ya laters folks!

but mine is a laptop, wait till you see the desktop
Posted by arien617
@Johnex
Too be honest though, on a laptop (HP as well) I got for £800 odd, 160gb HDD, 15.4" HD LCD, 128mb nVidia graphics, Vista Home premium, 1.6ghz AMD X2 dual-core, light-scribe direct disc labeling, built in webcam, dual-layer DVD re-writer + more isn't bad! And it's really slim and light.

seen a few people use that phrase on the internet but not got a clue what it means or why they use a p instead of o.
