I will buy a New BSNL Prepaid SIM card (Rs220/-) in that they will give Rs 50 as talktime and 7days validity. Firstly now can i get gprs activated with Rs50 as balance?? And what is logic behind Minimum balance of Rs 500/-? Is it true that without Rs 500 they wont activate GPRS services???
After 7days if I dont recharge then can i still use this trick ? I mean to say in grace period (90days) ? Am from hyderabad.
Please guys reply back soon! Am getting a good fancy number. So i can grab it soon, if things work for me.

you can get portal service activated for free but to get full gprs you have to pay Rs50 so you have to top up or recharge with another Rs50
and there is no such minimum balance rule atleast in my region.
so don't stayback come forward and grab it to connect INDIA.

We should have the portal service activated in order to use this trick.. And it costs nothin... But the main thing in using this trick is that whether those Bsnl fools have upgraded the networks in your area.. If not then there is hardly anythin you can do for it..

AS I WAS OFF FOR MORE THAN 3 DAYS!!
actually i m out of jammu 2 a small town close 2 pakistan border!!
here bsnl have 2 towers and airtel has none!!
cell services had developed a snag 4 days back and no signal was present,
so i was not able 2 surf using my gprs!
today service has started and i m back!!
btw quite amazed 2 see that gprs services r available here in the most terminal and remortest samll town close 2 pakistan border
(presently sitting just 4 km away from border)

Urgent help please
Today I bought a New BSNL prepaid Sim Card, Here in hyderabad GPRS activation is Free, download charges charges 1kb per paisa (latest news). I had sent sms as "ACTGPRS to 3733" to activate GPRS. ( I also tried sending GPRS to 3733 and also PORTAL to 3733) sending this sms to 3733 is also charged.
Then immediately I got the following sms
"Invalid option.Postpaid Cust:AMT-Current Usage Amt,BILL-Last month invoice details,ONEINDIA-For converting to ONEINDIA plan. Service only for postpaid TN,CH,KL. "
Then I called CC and ask about it, they said GPRS is not available for New series of numbers (i,e 94418) Then service can be activated only on 9440 series.
Then I asked them to atleast activate Cellphone portal, they said " Cellphone portal, wap all these services requires GPRS" so no gprs, no cellphone portal.
Friends please tell me what Should I do now? is there any trick to use free gprs or atleast paid gprs??? which series u guys having?
Tell me all possible settings to had i can insert manually and try if it get access...
please reply in details....

Freworld4u is having Nokia 6600 so he speaks about "G"..
If you can see that then make sure ur GPRS is active, or else do 1 think yar, call CC and ask whether ur GPRS is active or not.

I sometimes hang out from the balcony to get the signal at my residence. N mobile at office is a strict no-no as there's no signal
As for the GPRS symbol, I get a blue globe when accessing web from my phone.
For free GPRS, I tried all sorts of permutations using my current wap and mms settings as well as the settings given in this thread. Haven't tried out the A'tel settings though...

You will receive settings wit ip 192.168.81.163 but this is non workable.. So i was wondering why they are distributing non workin settings.. Is it so Becoz they are makin an effort to upgrade networks.

JAMMU is a place where there is low subscribers. Less Subscribers means low income, then how come BSNL upgrade JAMMU except other high Subscribers Region???? No Service provider will upgrade low income region first.
BSNL Free Gprs is true or a fake???

No shivam mms APN is not doing any magic, if you have have gone through SPARTAN'S thread carefully you will notice that he hasn't mention anywhere to use mms APN. Those who have only wap service (AIRTEL LIVE FOR AIRTEL AND BSNL PORTAL FOR CELLONE) activated, not full gprs, they can get the full internet on pc (not on mobile) using the trick.

Dude... 1st I bought bsnl prepaid 9441 series and again 2nd time I bought 9440 (only to test your trick).
9441 was easily available, but no GPRS facility for this series.
9440 very hardly I got, after search atleast 20 shops, but then minimum balance should be Rs250/- to activate GPRS.
Am so angry on bsnl, I had sent ACTgprs to 3733 atleast 100times per day.
Girish is able to use internet on pc without activation of gprs, dunno know how???

Don't be so sentimental brother. We are all in esato to share our views and to help each other as far as we can. You started the theared with an intention to help others to get free gprs but somehow the trick didn't click. What 'stayback' and me also post here is out of frustration, so please don't take all these otherewise.

I believe in letting the wind blow as the clouds will always cause rain... @everyone let this decision be only freworld's and i don't think others should direct him whether he should stay or leave.. Every1 here is so frustrated with BSNL gprs.... Guys that is why BSNL is so called waste Service provider of india.
I bought 2 New bsnl prepaid sim cards in this week, just for checking this trick, can imagine how much frustrated I am.
And coming to my dude freworld... guys be cool... freworld is a member of Esato, no family member will ever break his family and go... freworld has just arrived from a long tour (he was out of station all these days). So give him some time... he is a very nice person, he will surely share things with us and definately help us...
Lets not forget it is freworld who started this thread, because he loves to share things (Naughty guys, Not everything

firstly I bought 1 New Sim of 94418 series, When I had sent sms "ACTGPRS" "ACTPORTAL" (here, ACTGPRS is for activating GPRS in prepaid, ACTPORTAL is for activating GPRS in postpaid. This service is for only AP & TK customer) ( I also tried sending GPRS to 3733 and also PORTAL to 3733) sending all these sms to 3733 was charged evertime.

I called CC to enquire, they asked my number, name and place from where am calling, I answered, then when I asked what is the procedure to activate PORTAL or GPRS or MMS, they immd replied sorry sir, this service is not available for 9441 series. I was shocked.
I called several times to check whether any other CC will give a solution to my problem, but everytime same immediately response and same reply from all CCE's. Then I went down to GSNL office and met JTO (GPRS incharge), He said for this series the billing systems is not yet started so currently not possible to activate gprs services on this series, it will take 1-2 months. and he gave me the contact number of Head of GPRS Activation Dept (IT) so that I can talk to them directly. I called him, he said the same stories. He suggested me to buy a 9440 series.
Then I have no other option to buy a New Sim with 9440 series, so I searched hard and finally got one. Then I had sent a request "ACTGPRS" and "ACTPORTAL" 2 3733 (ACTGPRS is for activating GPRS in prepaid, ACTPORTAL is for activating GPRS in postpaid. This service is for only AP & TK customer)( I also tried sending GPRS to 3733 and also PORTAL to 3733 gives invalid option error) I was surprised to see this time sms to 3733 was not charged.
ACTPORTAL 2 3733 - I got the reply "Your Request for PORTAL Received,please wait for confirmation SMS - Gellone"
ACTGPRS 2 3733 - I got the reply "Your Request for GPRS Received, Activation will be done in 24 Hrs - Gellone"
I waited for 24hrs, then I called CC and asked the status? Then replied I dont have sufficient balance for activating GPRS. Then I asked them to atleast activate Gellone portal, they said " Gellone portal, wap all these services requires GPRS" so no gprs, no Gellone portal. Some CCE even said Gellone portal is only for postpaid customers.
Then I called to Head of GPRS Activation Dept (IT) on his mobile, he asked my number, (he also asked me did i sent a sms request for activation of gprs) then he checked, he replied sir, you dont have sufficient minimum balance for activation of GPRS. Minimum balance you need to maintain is Rs 250 (before it was Rs500/-). I said please activate Portal atleast, he said not possible, first u need to activate gprs for this. He said first u recharge and have ur balance more than 250 then call me in the mornings, I will activate GPRS in 2 hr. I requested him a lot, but in vain.
Then I was so disappointed. I was so angry on Gsnl, I had sent more than 100 sms that day (ACTGPRS, ACTPORTAL, GPRS, PORTAL, GPRSE, ACTIVE GPRS), everyday am sending these sms to them, thinking that 1 day they will activate my gprs by chance.
