Can anyone think of any reasons why not to get this phone?

(other than it not being a )

I got a reason to not get it.
Wait for the HTC Hermes (aka MDA Vario 2/O2 Trion)
Should be available in about 2 months time.
For your patience, you'll get a 2.1 mpx cam, 3G, and a more powerful cpu.

no reason why not. It has pretty much everything that one would want to use. Unless 3g is something you cant do without..

Thanks for your replys, 3G is no concern for me. Would like to wait 2 months for the new one but me contract is up this month and its seems to be a quite a cheap price on o2 at the mo.

if 3g doesn not worry you then I can't think of a single reason not to get the k-jam if you are after that sort of device.

it has a fantastic long battery life, excellent keyboard for typing, big screen for the total size of the device, lots of apps available, etc etc etc (I could go on but...)

the only negative for me is the lack of 3g which I did like in the jasjar so am looking forward to the jasjam (hermes)

I'm also hoping they finally bring out the firmware with the A2DP support

ye wait for de 02 xda trion.its a k-jam brother by design but specs wise it beats the k-jam hands down.

so many people here are telling others to wait for this or that...

I dunno but joebmc, if you're like me you want stuff NOW!

Well the new ones obviously going to cost a lot more and as I’m on a bit of a tight budget I think I will be getting the k jam. It seems there are not a lot of bad comments on the thing so I think my mind is made up. Thanks

Plus yes i hate having to wait, thing is when you wait you hear of another one being release in another few months after the one your waiting for, its endless.

oh even i am a 'want my stuff now' kinda person. but when it comes to the world of mobile phones patience is what i call 'golden'.dont agree? just go 2 the p990 discussion thread u'll find a 1000 more people like me.

Only bad thing i have heard is the call quality isn't that great, can any one confirm?

in the first firmware for the k-jam (I had one from the first batch from Expansys) it was tinny, but the first firmware upgrade fixed that and I have no complaints at all

Thats a negative , since i owned my k-jam for about 1 months the call quality is superb which i was surprised becoz the jam (magician) the previous sibling sounded tinny, but the k-jam is just as good as SE and Nokia i think.

You can get the k-jam for free on the t-mobile flext 35 price plan. www.t-mobile.co.uk

i just ordered one today, free on tmobile relax 25 with unlimited gprs internet.
fed up of "waiting" for new phones, been out of contract 6 months already.
Maybe by the time i finish this new 12month contract the p990 might be out.

3G is one thing.. as they said, if it doesn't bother u, then KJam is somewhat perfect for a mobile phone/ppc.

one more thing.. I don't like the camera.. although it is 1.3MP like the htc-hurricane and htc-tornado, the picture quality is way poorer. esp. on low light.. there are a lot of noise.. (the speckle fix does the trick but it is still not comparable with the SP 1.3MP pic quality.

if 3G and camera is not a big concern for u... there's no reason for u not to buy the KJam...

I’ve been using the Kjam for a couple of weeks now and have found it an excellent device. As Masseur said before, great battery life, features and apps, and I have not had the problems with sound that the earlier release had.

I was a little hesitant to move away from SE P series as I have been using them since the launch of the P800 (better the devil you know etc.), but I have not had any regrets. It was a little strange getting to grips with a new device/OS, however the learning experience has been fun as well.

Also read on a few sites its a bit slow/hangs a lot is this true or is it just a case of removing all the un-needed crap they come with?

I've heard stories of the anti virus causing problems but I uninstalled that on the first day I had it.

I rarely, if ever in fact, get hangs and I definitly soft reset much much less than I used to on iPAQs etc

I agree with everything said.

Great phone, with the newest firmware it is very stable, responsive & no problems with the sound quality etc...

guess its a matter of memory management.. i usually close all unused but running apps. (sometimes if you just press close/ok button, it closes the window but the application is still running. when those pile up, they will really slow down any phone.
