Cannot download thru Opera

I was till now using opera for browsing the web on my phone and was able to download attachments thru my gmail account. But lately i am not able to do so. when i try to download the default browser of sony opes up and a blank white screen comes up !! Has anyone else faced thi issue ??? Please help
