k700i Problems - Esato archive

My k700i is perfect apart from 2 things:
1 - Super real tennis never finishes loading and is therefore unplayable.
2 - left and right on the joystick do nothing in "standby" (when up/down go to internet/phonebook etc).
Any ideas what the problem is? I have FW R2Y005, and am on Orange. I live in south devon.

Does your joystick go left and right OK when in menus etc.?

Could be simply that nothing is assigned to those joystick moves whilst in standby mode.

Yeah the joystick works - I don't know how to assign things is probably the main problem. I read that the first time you use left/right it asks you if you want to assign them to do summin. I've been through all the settings and can't find anyway to assign them =\\
