Hi,
I have searched the forum and there is a post about my question but no one seemed to know the answer. I was wondering is it possible to keep my number when changing from Orange pay as you go to Genie pay as you go?
Also on a separate note, what is the price of MMS on Genie, if it is infact possible?

indeed it is possible to keep ya number wen goin from orange to o2
just call orange say you wanna port out to o2 n take ya number with u
orange will then issue you with a PAC (port authorisation code) which you then give to o2
your number will then be transferred to and take over your o2 number in about 7 days
re MMS - the press release states 40p per message but as a bolt on to contract customers the price reduces to 28p per message, not bad at all me thinks

generally you cant port a payasugo number from one network to another and remain payasugo....you'd have to be starting a contract with the new network.

there is no issue wheteher or not ur payg or contract
if the provider ses u av 2 b contract they are lying and in fact breaking the regulatory rules set out by oftel
the port process doesnt even recognise wat payment plan u go on, all it does is attatch a diff pcn to the sim serial and imsi u supply it wiv

i tried once before but i'll put it to the test again, i've got a few Virgin Mobile payasugo sim cards i want transferred to T-Mobile so i'll contacted Virgin for the PAC (Port Authorisation Code) and i'll keep you updated.

update:
transferred my Virgin PAYG to T-Mobile - wanted to keep my number and T-Mobile calls are 10p per minute to all Mobile networks and Landlines 24/7 if you spend £20 per month - which is good.
had to buy a T-Mobile sim card for £30 from CPWH(only a tenner on T-Mobile's website which i found out after the ba$tards).

also read if you add this as your MMS message server on Genie/o2 you can send 2 MMS messages before it officially goes live on the 31st:
