Your phone is a 900/1800/1900, so it will work on Cingular 850/1900 and Tmobile 1900 band. Now Cingular uses the 3G 1900 band as we thing. You have a 3G 2100 band phone. So we think those two 3G networks are not compatible, but we could be wrong nobody has a clear cut answer on that UMTS should be universal. So it would be good if you could try it out and tell us. Anyway you will be able to use the phone in the US.
There is more info on Cingular on their website.

I have a Cingular 3G SIM and have been in multiple Cingular locations (LA, Chicago, Miami, Ft Lauderdale, DC) and have been unable to get any UMTS coverage. I was also in Berlin and was able to get 4 UMTS networks: Vodafone De, T Mobile De, E2 and o2.

Most UMTS networks use 2100 MHz, but Cingular is currently using a 1900 MHz UMTS network, which means that 2100 MHz UMTS handsets won't work on Cingular's 3G network. Cingular is supposed to be buying 2100 MHz spectrum from what I hear, but I'm not sure if this will mean European and Asian 2100 MHz UMTS handsets will be compatible.

That is why I do not like Cingular, they are pushing their international incompatible network crap on ppl.

@Residentevil

To be fair to them they didn't have much choice from what I understand. The 2100 MHz band wasn't available to them right away so they had to go with 1900 MHz. As I said, I believe they are buying 2100 MHz spectrum, but I'm not sure if their network will be compatable with non-U.S. networks even then.
