Post your creative innovations for self-made accessories for W800!

How to make a Car Adaptor kit for W800:

What you need:

1. cheap K750 headset from local telecom store (around PhP 150 or $3 USD)
2. RCA jack
3. Auxilliary connector to your car stereo (mine is pioneer so i had to buy RB-10 adaptor... has RCA output)
4. Scissors
5. Electric Tape
6. Double Sided Type

Procedure:

1. cut the wires halfway between the mic and earphones of the headset.
2. cut out one end of the RCA jack
3. Join the pair of cutout wires together.. you'll end up with a connector to your W800 phone to RCA output. take note that there should be two wires... one for left and one for right
4. seal the connected joint with electric tape
5. connect your auxilliary adaptor to your stereo and connect your newly made RCA to the auxilliary adaptor.
6. hide the long cable under your car's interior pannels or under the carpet
7. stick the mic on your dashboard or beside your handbreak (any place where you find it most convenient)
8. now you can easily connect your w800 connector to your phone and music comes out from your car's speaker. what's more is that you can also make calls and have the sound come out of your car speakers.

Goodluck!

for the $3 cost for the headset cable, and less bother of 'making' one... look on ebay:

This is one of the things I got... cheap and works a treat! although I only paid £1.99 for mine about 3 months ago.

Too much hassle making one when they have proper ones cheap enough!

I have a different solution. Buy a Monster radio transmitter from RadioShack for $40 plug it into your cigarette lighter, tune to your preset channel and enjoy. Little more expensive and probably somewhat lesser quality conection than wired ones, but I don't like to order and have to wait for things. When I want it, I want it right now:-)

george:

fm transmitters are good and easily accessibly. however, if your ears are as sensitive as mine, you'll notice a huge difference from directly connecting to your stereo.

i want to share to you how to make a good alternative for mmc-60 se music cable.

first, you must have an adapter like the one that comes with W800i package (hpm-70 adapter) or any 3.5mm stereo adapter (most have no built-in mic).

then, secure at least (2) mtrs. stereo cable or any length you wish, (1) 3.5mm stereo connector and (2) RCA jacks (red & black).

Below is a sample of metal 3.5mm stereo connector.

then, connect/solder the 3.5mm stereo connector and 2 RCA jacks to the stereo cable at both ends as illustrated hereunder.

(remember: if you can't make it by yourself, this 3.5mm to rca stereo cable is always available in the market just buy it and plug it to your hpm-70 adapter rather than buying a new mmc-60 music cable! but, of course, its having a lot of fun if you can invent it by yourself!)

hope this could help you guys.

- oops, this is my latest post i supposed after my last post dated 2006-02-24 05:59, it's nice to be back once again here at esato!
