I still prefer the cleaner, less busy-looking lines of the LG.
The size of the 2 phones are very similar, but the Samsung has a 2mp camera as opposed to the LG's 1.3mp one, the LG has 128MB internal memory but no card slot.
However, the E900 has 80MB embedded memory and a handy micro SD slot...

Don't think this might have LG too overly concerned, as these handsets seem to be focussing so heavily on the fashion/looks-conscious fraternity, just like the RAZR et al, instead of the usual 'Specs Wars' arena.

I swear, remember when Samsung made those issues about those rip-offs that looked so similar to their phones?

Samsung has ripped of everything innovative or unique about a phone from ALL manufacturers.

I mean, I don't hate Samsung, their menu's are fast and the D-Series was their style, but at least that was unique.

This is a more business orientated KG800. Still looks pretty good though. So many 'slim' phones...

not bad but i wonder how long the battery would last!

you know the samsung build quality is gonna stink.

Do we have a release date folks?

Posted by Red_Rach
After the d600 I'll never go back to Samsung again. Terrible software on the phones which dosnt even compare to SE!

Nice new Samsung !

@red - Why you did NOT like the D600 It's a NICE fone . . . specially it's 2.0 MP camera, the BEST in it's class !

Posted by amnesia
the only thing that looks appealing is the new GUI

Posted by Red_Rach
@ JN - Felt there we're simple features missing from the phone that many other phones have had for years. Previously I've only ever had Nokias and SE phones and to be quite honest I was utterly disapointed with the D600. I've heard the D500 is better though.

I was glad to get rid of the D600 and instantly fell in love with my W800!

Posted by *Jojo*
@red - So, D500 is better huh Will check on that ! Yup, the W800 is good, but I liked the shell of the K750i more

Posted by Red_Rach
@ JN, Im only going off what others have said on Samsung forums. If you look at D600 forums, you'll find many people moaning about small flaws, but collectivly they just become annyoing and you know you're going to get much better with an SE.

Of course Samsungs have great screens, and Ive noticed no real difference in camera quality with the d600 and w800.

What to get? SonyEricsson K800 or Samsung E900? Mmm!?

Thanks for the info,im lookin forward to gettin mine.

Well i guess your questions have been answered now that it's in the shops.

Is there anyone out there that can tell me what features i will miss out on if i change from my K750i to one of these? i can only see the lack of autofocus, but i don't want to be regretting the decision for the next 12 months...

Posted by skyblumatt
alandigy - I have just changed from a K750i to this myself

The things you will miss are - no photo phonebook for text messages only incoming calls.
File manager isnt as stromng as the K750i
No autofocus
And most annoyingly still Samsung wont let us use Mp3 as message tones!

Despite all this it is a nice phone and i'm fairly happy with it. If it had just a couple of the things listed above id have been happier though, it doesnt feel like a huge step up from k750i more a step sideways (or if i was in a really bad mood maybe backwards)
Hope this is of some help

Posted by alandigby
Yeh, thanks far that. Hmm, still not sure what to do then! I think i'll wait for a little bit and see if anything comes along that i like more. At least the samsung's nice and small! (take note W850 )

Nice Release from Samsung

Posted by skyblumatt
thought i better to add what i do like about the phone as the last comments seemed a bit negative

touch pad very nice once your used to it and looks nice too
"vivid" mode for text messages received is also interesting, scrolls through your text and replaces some words with animations
increased capacity available, just put a 1gb card in mine less than £30
picture quality excellent despite no autofocus

Purlllllease! The camera on the D600 is cack!

Posted by alandigby
Any comments about the quality of the mp3 player? Some people seem to be saying that the quality isn't that great, but how bad can it be? surely not too bad even if it's not one of the best...

Posted by korbindallis
How much for the samsung E900 unbranded and also the LG KG800 i am thinking to get any one but un branded :-)

Posted by amnesia
played with one, yes it's quite nice, yes the specs are better than the chocolate, but the chocolate has something to it which screams sexiness.
