Hard lines Luke. Hope your GF is OK. I'm sure there'll be other gigs. Have a nice rest and things will seen better tomorrow. Chin up! :-):-):-)

Damn Luke, I cant help but symphatise with you. If you were in the US you'd be within your rights to sue the concert promoter.

Posted by Luke-the-magic-man
@ goldenface - shes my ex gf, and now as im sober I cant say I fell too good about it lol, the thing is I know my ex is going to feel so shitty now as shes the kind to get really emotional because of things like this.

I wouldnt want to sue them, but would definetly like to stop this happening again to others, as 2 my knoledge 2 people faited within 1-1.5 hours in the actual hall there could have been others to that I just dont know about... I just think its a serious health and saftey risk that they are taking here, as lets face it if my ex fell over and cracked her head open on a table then it would get allot more attention, and yet they may not hold much responsibility.

I am thinking about writing to the band, the hall, the organisers about this, though I relise that most of the mail will never be replyed to so I ask whats the point?

Write a stern letter to your M.P. Sorry you missed your gig

Posted by leeboy13
there is a point, i would do it mate... at worst id expect tickets to another gig and at best (but unlikely she and you could recieve some compensation)... id describe how much youve been looking forward to it, how differcult buying tickets were, and how much time you spent organising this night. Ive had simular problems in the p[ast and have recieved free tickets for alot less - the key is too not look as if yourultra angry etc...

Emphasis you would liek some kind of response...

Basically i missed a concert before as i got lost on the M25 (who hasnt) and turned up as the final song was being sung, i explained this to teh organisers on the night and they offered my 'front row' - yes front row tickets to the show for teh following week, is was chuffed to bits and everything got sorted p.s. this was a britney spears concert in london (with my girl friend - so dont flame me)

Hope this helps luke, i feel for you man as that night must have been both gutting and fustrating. hope you get something sorted buddy!

Lee

Ps. rememebr you got nothing to lose in contacting them and everything to gain

Posted by methylated_spirit
god, you got to see Britters from the front row?? Lucky git!

Posted by leeboy13
yep, lil catch tho (i thought they mean very front too) but sadly it was the front row of the raise tier on the left of the stage, it was still close as hell and i got soem real good pics etc

She didnt sing (what a suprise) but to be fair her stage presence and performance what something else also the skippy costumes helped lol

thing is its not the money really, I dont particually care about that to much its the fact that we have waited years for this, I spent ages trying to get tickets etc and then literly 5min before the band came on we had to go, one thing that annoys me (as im a selfish prick) is that the paramedics say go to the hospital (which I agreed with) but when we get to the emergency room we waited well over 1 hour just to be seen by a nurse!

anyway I got to ask whats the best way to get in contact with the organisers/producers etc of the gig as i bought the tickets from see tickets or something, but they dont worganise it, should I email snow patrol themseves or what?

Posted by leeboy13
if you know snow patrols email do it mate but otherwise id contact the venue you were watching it, try and speak to someone whos not just a customer services person, and tell them what happened, if they cant do anything try and get another number, email, address or something for the event/tour organisers.. i guess i was lucky as i saw them on the night of the show.... im sure they'll do something coz she did go to hospital and that will be easy to prove

you'd be mad to not try something coz it was a geniune cockup really and its not anyones fault.

All the best lee

I would try and get in touch with the organisers, snow patrol, and anyone else you can think of. As someone said earlier, you have nothing to lose, but everything to gain. You could even try the local papers, and see if you get any joy there.
I do feel for you, I would be pissed to if I had missed it, especially as the girl is now your ex.

Here's the addy for snow patrol

and now my email that was just sent:

To Snow Patrol/Band management

I am Luke Bonathan, last night I went to your cardiff gig, and would really like to say it was excellent, in truth the first two support bands were awsome, but I did not see snow patrol perform last night. This is because during the second support act my friend who attended with me passed out in the process of buying drinks, and injured herself in the fall, resulting in us leaving before snow patrol came on and spending out time in the emergency room till the early hours of the morning.

This left my friend very upset, and I myself am really quite upset as we had been waiting to see snow patrol for about 2 years, but this was the first time we were both available. I waited for about 2 hours online just to buy these tickets as I missed out on tickets to the first london gig this year by a number of seconds even though I had them in my basket etc online, and couldn't get tickets in 2004/5. To make it worse for my friend I bought the tickets as a Valentine present ( at the time we were seeing each-other for over 2 years, and snow patrol were the one band we both would have loved to see). I do realize that its quite rare for this kind of thing to happen, but when we were there a girl passed out in-front of us (in the crowd) but before we left I found out she was ok.

I do want to add that my friend (kirsty) is ok, she had some stitches, and was allowed out of hospital after the stitches were done as she didn't have concussion etc, we did our best to reenact the the gig by playing snow patrol all the way home, but it wasn't really the same.

I'm not quite sure what I plan on achieving by this email, I just feel really bad about last night due to what happened to my friend as I do feel partly responsible for it. I would like some kind of response, but I would also like some way of contacting the people who operated the building that night, and who operate it for future gigs as I have a few recommendations (such as letting in some air every once and a while and not taking bottled water off the crowds when we walk in).

Kind Regards

Luke Bonathan

Very well put. Not asking for anything from them, apart from some way of contacting the operators. I think you may have some tickets on the way to you soon.

Know where you comin from mate. Went to go see Kanye West in B'ham a while back. Couple of people almost passed out behind us..luckily we were near the front so had more fresh air than others i suppose. Couple of my mates felt..woozy(?) and went out to get some air. Stupid really, I mean they do have vents everywhere and some were actually putting in warm air! Mind you they had other problems besides that tho..like one of the stewards getting shot...so doubt they gave a sh*t bout people passing out lol. Anyway mate im sure they'll sort you out with some tickets or something..that is if they actually read your email..some just blow em off. Hope eveything works out tho, good luck with it

Posted by Luke-the-magic-man
some one got shot!

shit

Ok well i found out my ex also emailed the, but as she took the day off (cause of last night) she got there before me lol and had the lead singer personally email her back.

Basically we have been offered to be out on the guest list at any of their up and coming gigs, only 2 of which are in the uk and about 140 miles away. So tomorrow im driving all the way up to london with her and we are going to see snowpatrol!

Pretty happy right now, but a lil dampered, but this time there is no turning back as il be damed if Im driving all that way for no reason lol
