The t68i was just released last week from Fido, Rogers, Simpro and some others... so there will definitely be MANY more t68i users in Canada... just wonder how many will find this forum.

I'm located in Toornto and have a Rogers AT&T T68i. Great phone. I bought it largely because it works so well with Mac OS X.

Good question DragonEye... I just picked my phone up last weekend... still can't get the GPRS stuff working... I didn't get much in the way of instructions from Rogers.
Does anyone have a .pdf or something from Rogers explaining how to set up the Wireless Desktop services?

Ahh... see DragonEye... you got me thinking about it. If you have Wireless Desktop all ready to go... Go to Web, and once connected, go to Portal/Email and it will say that it's emailing you the installer... you will get a message in about 5 secs that asks to install the software.

this is how i setup my wap
1. go to setting data comm
2. in data comm go to data accounts and create an account called rogers
3. once this is created you can edit account.
the APN is goam.com
user id wapuser1
password wap
the password request field shold be set to off
4. allow calls should be automatic
5.ip address should be blank
6. under advanced settings authen is set to normal
dat compression is set to off
header compression is set to off
quality is set to precendence adn subsricbed
7. GO TO WAP SERVICES
scroll to wap settings and click yes create a profile called rogers
under change homepage use
http://upaapps.goamerica.net:8582/start.wml
or
http://goamerica.net:9203/index.wml
save this to the current profile
8.under gateway select ip settings and conect using rogers account ip is 208.200.067.150
9. user id and password are blank
data mode is connoriented
security is on
show images set to on and response timer 150 secons
10. go to my shortcuts and make sure you cell # is in my numbers data and voice.
turn phone off.. leave it for a minute turn it back on.
try logging on the wap.esato.... it should say cannot find server continue yes keep on continueing till you get on....
and obvioulsy you need to subsribe to rogers' wireless service.

After entering all the CONNECT SETTINGS
leave that and go into WAP SERVICES. (the phone with the world behind it) in the main menu.
then continue..let me know if you need anything else

Ah... That is WEB Services on my phone... and it only has Select Profile which has like 8 ROGERS profiles. There isn't anywhere in the menus for create, delete or even to modify them.

i don't know how to check the verison.. i just assumed your's is different because it says web services instead of wap???? was your bought in canada?? mine came form hong kong..anyway you can't get rid of the roger's at & t thing as far as i know....

If you bought it from Rogers then they shoudl tell you how to do it. Those Roger's People drive me crazy someitmes. YOu bought the phone from them and they can't give you the right info to hook up your wap... you should complain and get them to give you free unlimited wap for 6 months and hook it up for you.

I don't even have a USB cable adaptor for the phone. I haven't tried IR but that should work if you aren't running OS X. I've got the DLink USB dongle (via the AppleStore). I've synchronized with iSync (no problems - both iCal and Addressbook). My only disappointment is that I can't pick up a Rogers AT&T signal in my office so I can't use my Mac to control the phone (incoming and outgoing calls).
WAP works great but the plan I have only allows 150k a month and I've used 100K without even trying....
I also use the OS X BlueTooth File Exchange to upload files (like background pics - my current one is the Jaguar icon) rather than go to WAP sites as that saves a ton of data charges.
I haven't gotten .Mac email to work yet though.
There's a Mac-BlueTooth list (bluetooth-mac@lists.themacintoshguy.com ) you can subscribe to which is 70% about the T68i.....

That dude with the pdf file seemed to have disappeared. But i'll try to help you as much as i can. first what software version you using? You have to go into the service menu. Do a search to figure how I can't remeber. Something like left left right right *#..but use the search
Mine is RE006. I notroiced some new phones have web services not wap services? Have you signed up with rogers for the mobile interent plan? I did a master reset on my phone... first . I'll walk you through step by step again in a private message

The first verison I posted was kinda dodgey this is a more detailed version which should be more clear. I use an unlocked t68i from HK software RE006.
this is how i setup my wap
Go to CONNECT
1. go to "data comm"
2. go to "data accounts" and create an account called "rogers"
3. select GPRS data
4. enter APN goam.com or internet.com (i use goam.com)
5. User id is "wapuser1", password "wap"
6. Save it and select it again to edit it
7. Turn password request off
8. allow calls should be automatic
9. ip address should be blank
10. DNS leave blank
11. under advanced settings
authentication is set to normal
data compression is set to off
header compression is set to off
quality is set to precendence and subsricbed
go back to main menu screen and go to
1. WAP SERVICES
2. go to OPTIONS
3. got to WAP profiles
4.Add profile called rogers
5.under change homepage use
http://upaapps.goamerica.net:8582/start.wml
or
http://goamerica.net:9203/index.wml
you can change the name if you wish..but i left it as mobile internet.
save this to the current profile
6. Connect using rogers
7. IP address is 208.200.067.150
8.. user id and password are blank
data mode is conn oriented
9. security is on
10.show images set to on
11. response timer 150 secons
12. go to "My shortcuts" and make sure you cell # is in my numbers data and voice.
turn phone off.. leave it for a minute turn it back on.
try logging on the wap.esato.... it should say "Server identity could not be verified continue? keep pressing yes till you get on. it will also say "loading securely" if it is working.
and obvioulsy you need to subsribe to rogers' wireless service.
I can't get much more detailed than thatso i hope it works.. but let me know. You may wnat to try a master reset first... but that will erase all your phone numbers and mms and and other settings.

sorry was away for a few days.... dragoneye i sent ya the pdf, would anyone know how i can paste that file here somewhere? i feel bad whenever i can't help someone imediately... maybe i can post that file somewhere... have no clue how though.... and yes u do have to subscribe to wap services, but most providers i think will let you have a two month free demo, i know i got from rogers att here in canada i got 2 months free trial use, trick is i have to call them before it ends to cancel it, otherwise its automatically put on after that, after using it, for a month so far, i don't think i will be keeping it, gonna just use pay to use, means whenever i use it i pay, but the first month bill was huge, i hade $150 data use alone... thank goodness i have that month free!!! but this month i hartdly used it... i figures its cheaper to use the computer, through bluetooth, send and recieving things.....

How come all of you are having problems with pictures over wap? Mms style? Someone should call customer service ask 2 speak to a manager and demand a solution from tech support and ims dept. Or ask the rep 2 either speak 2 mr. razon whom may be able to help, you. Hes in Toronto call center and old coworker...if unavailable get them to email him with your ban# and request. Hope that this helps.

i have a gold t68m--->t68i, i also have the pdf file for wap with rogers if anyone needs it. U can call rogers, and tehy will email it to u also (thats how i got mine)

Newfoundlander here! T68i running on Rogers GSM with GPRS, WAp etc. working. Aside from a couple of dead spots it works pretty good here in St. John's.

My works with the security on though. My WAP browser functions perfectly with the settings i've posted. It's just the picture email part that doesn't work.
