Palm and T68 Modem via IR Doesn't Work

Hi,

I have been trying to get my Palm V to dial up using the T68i in built MODEM through the IR (infrared) port. After setting up my ISp on the Palm I try to get the Palm to dial up on the T68i which seems to work. My T68i starts dialing but a few seconds later the T68i returns to the main standby screen, and my Palm reports "Error: no carrier (0x1102).

Has any one experienced this and know how to fix it?

havent experienced this message but give us more details...ISP your dialling, your mobile network.

have you used the phone to dial-up on its own at all? try to get this working first then maybe you'll be able to discover the cause of your error.

i can sync my Palm Vx via AvantGo using the T68 but i had to change my servername to the IP address when doing it through my o2 dial-up in the UK.

I have fixed it and it now works. Your simple but effective suggestion to call the ISP directly up using the mobile resulted in a message which said I had to leave out the leading zero on the 0500 number, because its not a free call on a mobile. Once I updated that on my palm so that it dials 500 it connects perfectly now.
