Why is there never any milo when you need it on a cold autumn night, but there always milo on the hottest day of summer. Does anybody have any theories as to why things screw me and others around in this way

whats milo, dude?
Posted by Gigs
You are so bloody right davo!
Whats more i'm annoyed by the lack of milo at my workplace, they have coffee, they have tea, would it hurt to have milo! >:/
Granted milo and cold milk during summer is good though
Milo is a drinking chocolate, bloody nice.
Davo: I keep a stash of cadbury drinking chocolate and a jar of horlicks in the back of the cupboard for late night drinking as well, doesn't hurt to be prepared

@meths milo is the greatest chocolate drink of all time. And i had none last night when i could not sleep and needed it the most. Aint that life when the one thing you want there is nothing there and when you dont need it its everywhere. @ gigs it has to be really really cold milk to satisfy me. Have you tried the milo cereal? Really tasty with icy cold milk

I need to try this stuff... Sounds good!

i agree! i remember when i first encountered milo - a little skeptical at first, snotty-nosed that at first glance it did not at all compare to chocolate milkshakes and hot chocolate... but when that oh-so-chocolatey heaven ran down my throat, i've been hooked ever since. i go to ethnic groceries just to get that stuff.
my advice to the thread starter: keep your basement stocked with milo.
to others: milo is a chocolate malt drink. better than nesquik and ovaltine, which can both be a bit too sugary for my taste. milo has the robust yet likable quality akin to a nice cup of coffee.

Davo.... Send me some!!??
Posted by Davo_169
i made mum buy some today so i should have some for tonight
@burgaz
postage and that might be a hassle but if your willing to pay for it then ill gladly organise something. or do what scapevelocity said and go to a specialty grocery store and pick some up for an inflated price
and another thing:
why is there always no transit guards checking tickets on the train when you actually BUY a ticket, and the off chance that you forget to buy one one morning there is always a guard ready to spring you with a 50 dollar fine

YAY!!!!! Im a Milo fan!!!
Lotsa people dont like it, but I love it the chocolate bars and the cold ready made ones!!!

perfect recipe for a hot milo (none of this cheap sugar and hot water crap people try to stinge me off at the TAFE cafe)
ingredients:
microwave
milk
milo
directions:
microwave a glass of milk until its hot
get rid of the yucky milk skin on top
add as much milo as you desire ( i use about 5 spoonfulls)
stir and enjoy
i dont understand the people that think that hot water, two scoops of milo, one scoop of sugar and a little bit of milk constitutes as a hot milo...they are crazy talking pirates if you ask me...
milo should be drunk with milk alone. either piping hot, or icy cold

I HATE MILO!
I've always HATED milo!
you can even buy milo bars (like mars bar) and somehow they even managed to make them taste worse than the drink!
Posted by JK
I put 3 spoons milo in a mug with milk put in the micro for 30 seconds till all the milo granules dissolve then stir till smooth and creamy!!
and if bored and watching cricket put 5 spoons milo in cup add like 50-60 ml water mix till you have a slimy paste and gobble up like its melted chocolate!!!
Posted by fatreg
is milo just like ovaltine then?

Yip!! Ovaltines quit nice to, but no1 stocks it here for some reason!
Posted by fatreg
i fully agree with masseur then!
ovaltine is horrid stuff!

Posted by Davo_169
i would like to point out that milo's taste is in no way a comparison to ovaltine...it is in a league of is own and warrants at least a taste reg
Posted by JK
Its 'like' Ovaltine!! Like tomato sauce is like mustard sauce!!!

Hmmm, need to try this. I'm a fan of Galaxy drinking chocolate, it rocks...could Milo be a contender?
Davo, i know what you mean - also, talking of trains, why is it that when you go for a poo the toilets always blocked with other peoples stinking, fetid faeces? I bet its never blocked when i don't need to go

No way mate, Milo is disgusting when compared to Galaxy, its Nestle for Gods sake! But its drinkable I spose...

I think I'll give this a miss based on ovaltine-esque decsriptions. The last time I tried something unusual made of chocolate, it was a Hershy bar.
So wrong
I can only imagine the founders of the Hershy Factory sitting around a big table."hot dang, lets make a bar outa chocolate only lets take the wonderful taste and make it worse"....
Ugh.

No way is Ovaltine like Milo. That's like saying a 250cc regular bike nonentity is like a 1200cc Yamaha R2!
Milo tastes worlds better than Ovaltine. Cadbury's Bournvita is even better than Ovaltine. But even that too is not quite up to par with the Milo taste.
Hot Milo? Nah! Icy cold is the way to go with Milo. Has anyone tried Milk shakes with Milo?

not exactly milo milkshakes... milo slush drink, if i may call it that... ice cubes, a bit of hot milo with cold milk, all in a blender. yum yum.
i've also tried ice cold milo with vanilla ice cream on top (which eventually sank to the bottom, lol).
i've also made a fudge-type of milo ice cream topping...
Posted by Gigs
@davo: only found out about the cereal about a week ago so haven't tried it yet.. I'm uh... still getting the hang of having breakfast once a month
As to making milo, there's lots of ways to do it, i use hotwater.. at times.. but its HOW you make it with hotwater that counts.
Spoonfuls of milo to desired level, usually a couple of teaspoons of sugar, then ad millk, stir until chocolately goodness resides in bottom of cup, REISTS DRINKING as cold drink
But yeah the microwaving milk way is prolly the nicest, but i do that for my drinking chocolate/horlics latenight soup bowl drink.

I have to agree to that. I once had a cheapo alternative called "Shark" and I had the runs for a week.
Stick to the original, thats what I say.
