My W810 have the R4CE012 Firmware, and iīm having problems with MP4. My phone donīt recognize the ID Tag of MP4 files . And then i canīt sort my music files by artist or Albuns. But on MP3 itīs all right!

I have the R4CE012, too, and tags work fine for both AAC and MP3. Maybe you should try renaming your .mp4 to .aac?

My firmware is R4CF002 and my phone is blocked on Orange. I just tried to update but it sais yhat i have the latest firmware. Ihave the problem with tha camera switching of when I make pictures on daylight and I hoped I could get it fixed with an update, but.....

I've been experiencing a problem since yesterday that seems to occur every time now. I take the memory card out while the phone is on to put into my laptop. When I put it back in the phone, it continually reboots and never manages to come out of the crash. I have to remove the card, switch the phone off, insert the card, then switch the phone on. After this, it's fine. Has anyone else experience this or something similar?

While it's taking SEUS forever to release R4D for customisations other than EU, this neophiliac couldn't help but flash his W810 to R4D via DaVinci. Did it some 5 mins back. I couldnt find anything staggeringly new yet though. Visual changes:
- tab icons for Activity Menu changed

AMR activated has nothing to do with firmware version. AMR can be activated on any phone and any firmware release ;D. So it is not new feature of R4DB005.

I've upgraded to the latest and everything is working fine so far. no visible bugs noticeable. Only thing I wish they improved is the loudspeaker sound (to be louder) and video recording (to be smoother). these things would've been solved by ourselves if this phone was supported by FAR, but not yet.

hi i was just wondering if anyone has had the same rare problem as me. i just got a w810i on sim free and when i put a different sim card in i turned it on to find a white screen instead of the se logo. then insted of the start as phone...etc. the words start and info appear but nothing else, almost as if the screen has shifted off the display. the walkman can be accessed by pressing the button then the back key but that is it anyone have any ideas? :s

well i have a prob wit my w810i...i want to have the flash menu but my fone is branded...now i know that there are 3rd party debranding/flashing groups such as davinciteam and wotan which offer FW R4DB005...i am jus wondering if i should debrand it with one of these or if i should wait for the SEUS update? (it keeps saying i have the latest...=/)...my current FW is R4CK003..and i believe that the R4DB005 will fix my prob..right? if i were to install R4DB005, would i get the flash menu? and if so..how come i am unable to get it from SEUS and others can? this is driving me nuts... >=(

i am not very sure on that. The only problem i have had is the big one with my whole phone, i looked int oit and asked SE and they said it may be a fault in the handset so i have sent it back and fingers crossed my replacement will work fine.

this phone is great but two things buging me :
- the ringtone in this phone is low comparing to K750i
- the delivery report alert & bluetooth alert is very low comparing to K750i

1) While popup window displyed small lines of background (between popup, shortcuts etc.) are corrupted

Hi!, I'm a bit new with this telephone (W810i), I hope someone could help me with this:
- Wich firmware support the languages: English, Spanish, Italian (I need this three)
- If I can download the firmware, how can I upload to the phone?... is there a program that if I have the file I can upgrade the phone?
- Does the far plugin support the W810i filesystem?, this question comes because of the sound patch, I do not know if it works on the W810i and how can I put it on the phone!

Bugs problems I found on w810i with f/w R4CE012:
1. Using camera with light causes "flashing light" problem (I hear this is fixed in a new f/w release?).
2. Speed of the Phone USB interface in PC mode. This really is awful. I want to copy stuff on and off the phone using the USB cable but it is so slow I canno tell you. An hour long album encoded in 192bit AAC took nearly two hours to go across. This compares with about 5 minutes in a card reader (still very slow compared with my CF cards). What is it with these memory sticks? And why is the phone slowing down the USB file transfer so much?
Walkman problems:
1. Using the EQ in manual mode can sometimes cause playback to crash - a short fragment of music loops around forever until exiting the music player.
2. Next and previous track can cause some nasty audible clicks. This can also occur sometimes when the player moves from one track to the next on its own, although it happens more often when going next/previous track manually.
3. Walkman volume - can we have it louder please? The headphones that come with the w810i are barely loud enough (with pumping music) not nearly loud enough when you're playing quieter songs. But the real problem is when using other phones. I tried Sennheiser HD600 and Bose cans and the sound is just too quiet - the impedance of these cans is obviously a bit different which is affecting the volume. The walkman just needs to go louder.
4. Low volume artifacts - Play a track with a quiet passage at low volume, there are a lot of weird noise artifacts in the music. This is particularly annoying with classical music which has quiet passages.
I'd appreciate any thoughts on the above..

That's a nice list. Another bug is that you are unable to add a birthday from contacts to calendar if the birthday is earlier than 1970. This bug was fixed in K750 long ago so why not in W810!? Don't SE programmers talk to each other or what? Very frustrating...

I got this R4DB005 via GPRS update .. was great one and the file size was 1.3 MB only .. so its not that bad ...
I did not discover no bugs yet, but i dont like the speaker volume when a call is on !! its too bad one compare to speakers for my previews K610i and even the old Z1010 !!!

I'll offer my oppinions on the sound quality. I use a pair of Shure E4's on the W810 (these are sound isolating canalphones that list at $300). Relatively low impedance and high sensativity so very suited for a cell like this.
Anyways, volume is more then enough for these, I don't need to push it more then halfway up to hear all music and conversations clearly. The overall sound reproduction is not bad, using ~220kbps mp3, there are no noticeable artifacts.
However the DSP puts out a good deal of interference, I don't know if it is the connector, the firmware, or the DSP itself that puts off a good bit of static, but all things considered I could complain the same about the ipod or PSP, this however is about doubly pronounced. It sometimes er, clicks between songs. Minor stuff.
The microphone is really the only thing that annoys me a bit in that it stays consistantly on, whereas I remember the k700i's headset would only click on when talking. Its a good thing because you don't have to worry about it missing the beginning of a sentence, but it picks up every background noise (forget having a radio in the background going.. the isolating phones can handle it, the mic cannot.) I suppose there is not much that could be done for this however.
I appear to be one of the people who got a DaVinci Code branded W810i, bought it on ebay and its really not annoying branding, it just has a screensaver, theme, and ringtones (sucky ones) for the movie. They are protected files so they cannot be deleted unless I suppose you use a debranding service like davinci team (fitting name). Other then that, nothing is locked out or messed with and the regular S-E stuff is there.
I live in the US, I find the customization a bit odd, and have not been able to update the phone OTA (says i have the latest)... here's the info.

China... interesting.. I always thought that the W810c was the chinese branded, yet this one DEFINETLEY identifies itself as W810i. I love the phone, S-E addressed all the issues the K700i had and more, the only change I did not like is the new connector because one cannot connect power and a headset in at the same time, but the battery life makes up for it.
I'd love to hear more info on the customizations, this one appears to be 1 number higher then a guy who got his phone with DaVinci Code branding at the Cannes Film Festival. I hope the update service will work with this one.
