Sky has finally announced a date for its high definition service.You can start snapping up HD Sky+ boxes and subscriptions next Wednesday (12 April), though you'll have to wait a few weeks for installation.
The 160GB box costs £299,and they also want £10 a month for an HD subscription that's on top of your usual Sky digital subs. Oh, and you'll need to have an HD ready telly. www.sky.com

I got an email from sky saying i can get the box early as an existing customer from the 5th. Dont think we will be getting it yet even tho mums got a HD telly. Will wait 4 more channels to come out

You guys are lucky over there in the UK...heard yesterday that the Beeb, ITV and Channel Five will running an HD trial in the summer using DTT.
Down in South Africa we're still waiting for DTT, hopefully when it arrives it will be superior to FreeView.

new Sky HD customers will soon be eligible for £100 cash back on Sony Bravia TVs.
To be eligible for the cashback offer (which starts on Wednesday 26th April), you need to purchase a Sky HD box and subscribe to Sky HD before the 10th of July and purchase their Sony Bravia TV (26-inch or above and excluding U-series TVs) between the 26th April and 10th of July.
