ive been trying to upload music all morning to me W800 and it will upload most of the album but miss out a few songs, so i upload them again, and it deletes the whole album, so i start all over again and it just creates a folder but no music is in the folder? i finally get a few albums on there working fine, and i try to upload some more and it just wipes all the music off the card? any ideas on what im doing wrong?

Subtle title!
I use Windows Explorer to transfer songs to my W800i, much more reliable! Just make sure you put them in the right directory.

This is a known issue with W800 and memory stick. apparently this is resolved in the latest firmware.
Alternative is to use a card reader...there are hundreds of threads on this.

Just update firmware. I had the same thing.
Or after copying files to phone... before removing it from USB cable - take out the memory stick, unplug usb cable and then insert memory stick back.

how do i upgrade firmware? can this be done just using the cable that came with the phone, ive been away from SE for a few years after getting into the XDA range, but gone back to SE after ornge gave me the w800 for free!
when i did it via windows explorer, if i opend up teh walkman on the phone and went artist it came up, then album came up but ti said no tracks i would only find the tracks by going through the whole list of every track

visit your nearset se service and let it upgrade there. if the fone is yet under warranty, its free of charge.

try updating it with yoursefl. i had R1L before then brought my fone to SE and have them update the software. R1A came out and i update it with my self and went perfectly. then a few weeks ago, updated again to R1B and it went flawlessly. SEUS II seems to be a lot better this time... worth trying i would say.
Good luck!

When i put my songs on to my phone using D2P my phone plays the songs with breaks. All of my cd's/songs are mixed so is there any way i can play them on my phone with no breakes, just mixing straight to the next song?
Thanks...

i think mp3 player of w800 doesnt support non-stop playing. i loaded an album to mine which plays non-stop on my pc but it doesnt happen to my fone.

Hi all!
I have to agree about disc2phone. it's utter crap. written on a friday afternoon i reckon.
it can't organise compilation albums which have tracks by different artists. you can only access tracks via Artist or Tracks, so you have to spend half a day creating Playlists if you use sony's pish software. (come on Sony, write some proper software then try actually testing it).
so.....
can anyone recommend a good (free) util that'll convert mp3's to a different bit rate.
my mp3 are generally ripped at >=192 bkps. but i'd like to create copies at 128kbps which i can then drag onto my mem card using Windows Explorer.
Cheers!

Mmmm odd, on my K750 with the latest software disc2phone rips the cd in the exact order of the original cd and creates a backup in the my music folder (be it at the same bit rate). So I experience none of the problems mentioned above.

I flashed my W800i on Saturday and now Disc2phone works perfectly. I'm quite impressed.
