DaVinci tricks W800i so it's impossible to use SEUS anymore!

My girlfriend bought a W800i from Spain (EUROPE_1) and I used DaVinci to install R1AA008 firmware into her phone to change to EUROPE_4. After that, everything cool, her phone was in Swedish.

But today I tried to install new R1BC002 firmware using official SEUS program, and it says: "There're no updates for this phone"

It doesn't even offer me to continue forward, while with my W800i I can re-install the firmware if I want.

My question is if anyone experienced this with DaVinci, I'm so annoyed now because I paid for that people and the program tricked the phone, and it seems that I can't use SEUS anymore..

Thanks in advance for any help!

Yea from what ive read that is one of the disadvantages of using Da Vinci, you cant use SEUS after...

You will have to use Da Vinci again to install the new firmware.

This isn't true, you just need to pick a CDA number that corresponds to unbranded phones in your region. I used CDA 102337/10 (Europe 2) on my K750i and SEUS works fine afterwards.

Posted by kabukijep
you actually can, if you noted down the original CDA of the phone- SEUS hashes the CDA against the phone's IMEI (which you cant change via DVT). my w550 is a EU2 phone, but i reflashed it with EU1 via DVT and kept the CDA- I was able to update the phone via SEUS however it reflashed it with EU2

Posted by mkd
Thank you guys! But now I ask.. if DVT changed already the CDA.. how can I now what CDA use to be sure that SEUS will work in the future?

The current CDA of the phone is: CDA 102337/1 R6A (EUROPE_4)

How do I know a CDA from unbranded phones using EUROPE_4?
And how can I know to hash the IMEI to get the CDA ???
Can anybody explain how to do it, if it is possible?

Sorry for asking so much, it's just I never used DVT and now I'm confused.

And thanks again

W800i CDA's

CDA102430/1 EMEA_1
CDA102430/2 EMEA_2
CDA102430/3 EMEA_3
CDA102430/4 EMEA_4
CDA102430/5 EMEA_5
CDA102430/6 EMEA_6
CDA102430/7 EMEA_7
CDA102430/8 EMEA_8
CDA102430/9 EUROPE_1
CDA102430/10 EUROPE_2
CDA102430/11 EUROPE_3
CDA102430/12 EUROPE_4
CDA102430/13 EUROPE_5

K750i CDA's

CDA102337/2 EMEA_2
CDA102337/3 EMEA_3
CDA102337/4 EMEA_4
CDA102337/5 EMEA_5
CDA102337/6 EMEA_6
CDA102337/7 EMEA_7
CDA102337/8 EMEA_8
CDA102337/9 EUROPE_1
CDA102337/10 EUROPE_2
CDA102337/11 EUROPE_3
CDA102337/12 EUROPE_4
CDA102337/13 EUROPE_5

So you're using a K750i CDA on a W800i.
SEUS won't update it...

Perfect, I'll try this tomorrow first time (I live in Finland, it's 23:00 now), that may be the reason why it doesn't work..

I didn't think about that, so in the DVT program, I just need to change the CDA number, cool, thank you very much

I tell you tomorrow what happened

Remember, changing CDA after flashing (as in your case) will cost you one credit. To have it for free, you should have typed the correct CDA when you flashed the phone - sorry!

So, you might as well reflash it with the latest firmware using DaVinci (but this time you should remember to type the correct CDA and you will be able to use SEUS when a new firmware is released in the future).

The correct CDA for you is: CDA102430/12

Ah thanks for that note, so I can't do it at the same time?

Another thing is that I flashed both main and fs, and all the settings and text-messages went away. It's there anyway of keeping settinges, messages and contacts like SEUS does?

Well, I'll wait till my girlfriend wakes up now and then I'll do it, she's paying anyway

Thank you all guys, very helpful people here in Esato

OK guys, I updated it to R1BC002 with DVT, I wrote a different CDA number manually, and now the phone starts but when I introduce the pin it says: Error, talk to your operator...

What did I do wrong? You can't write down manually the CDA?
What can I do now to make it work?, she's gonna kill me

Sorry for bothering with this post.., it shouldn't have gone this far..

When re-flashing it did you tick the "Finalization" check box?
I might be wrong, but i think that message appears when you flash it without ticking the box...
But i don't have much experience with DaVinci, just wait for another opinion.

btw, Finalization is what costs you one credit.
Flashing it won't cost you nothing, but without finalization the phone won't work.

@mkd

As the former poster states, just tick the finalization box and press "flash" button (no need to reflash with firmware files ticked again though). You should still have your old credit... no need to buy yet another one

Posted by kabukijep
note: you actually only need to type in the CDA######/# or CDA######/## number in the CDA box in DVT; no need for the EU1/EU2/etc. When you check it with >*<<*<* afterwards, the remaining details will be filled in

Posted by mkd
Yeah, I did the finalization now, and everything seemed to be OK, but still I get the message:

"Configuration Error, please contact your operator service.."

The first time I did it without ticking Finalization box, and after that, I realised I ought do it so I ticked and unticked FW files, and it did the Finalization. And I have to say that phone was changed to CDA102430/12 EUROPE_4 and Walkman mode works perfectly with videos and music. It's just when I start the phone. Even I get text messages and phone is using GPRS and GSM coverages, it just the message is sticky and there's no buttons or way to remove it

The thing is, when I ticked Finalization, it did it, but I losed my credit. Now I'm just thinking of going to an official SAT here in Finland and restore it with official software, even though I have to pay again.

Thank you all anyway, it seems I did something wrong, but I don't understand what, because I typed the correct CDA (which actually was changed), and FS and MAIN files were correct R1BC002 eu4 and main.

Thanks again and I'll see what I do this afternoon

Why don't you try an internal format (Master reset)?
Just backup anything you might need later.

Posted by kabukijep
mkd: most likely a corrupt flash file; ive had that problem earlier today with my w550; use another one, i suggest using W800_R1AA008_MAIN_APAC1 and W800_R1AA008_FS_APAC1 i've used these on a friend's W800 and they both worked fine. Not the latest fw, but if you dont want to risk it anymore.. use CDA203535/15 as the CDA string if you want, that's the generic hong kong. if you still have that phone's original CDA you can use that as well

Posted by mkd
Yeah, Master Reset, but how if can't get into the phone..

Is there any code I can type or some trick with joystick, because phone won't let me use any of the functions after I introduce the pin code.

Can I use the Firmware Menu to do that?

Posted by kabukijep
what pin code are you talking about? for the sim? try putting a different SIM- my K600 had this problem where the phone would stall (no config error msg though) when powered up; i used a different SIM and apparently it was the problem

i havent heard of a master reset option via the service menu

Posted by mkd
Nothing to do, I tried four different SIM-cards, two from Finland, one from Sweden and another one from Spain, and same error..

Tomorrow I'll see in the SE service shop what they do..

Thank you all for dedicate your time

This is like throwing away money, I like money, but not in this way. Just contact me via msn / icq or our support forum www.seuniverse.com (look here also for my msn / ICQ details) and I will guide you trought the process.

Ofcource ANYONE can get help from me, that bought the credit at www.davinciteam.com

BTW:
The flashes are ok, nothing is corrupted!

Sorry if you were offended, I didn't say anything about ROM files, I just said it that my phone doesn't work, which is true.

If that bothers so much, that I said that I flashed with DVT and now it doesn't work, then sorry, and I already said that maybe I did something wrong, that's why I'm going to the SE support to be sure it's ok.

Thank you anyway for your support and don't be upset.

Posted by kabukijep
well yeah, not corrupt files apparently, but incompatibilities between clients- hey a suggestion gsmen, how about putting a line at the top of that file list about which client version has been tested as working with a specific flash file? I know some of them do, but as was the case in the latest W550 flashes, i didnt know an older client version should be used. thanks for the help again-

GSM codes Firmware >*<<*<* R1AA008
prgCXC125952_EU_1_CL R1AA008
CXC 125 932 R1J
Aanpassing CDA 102337/11 R3A
CXC 125953 R1AA008 EUROPE_3 Content versi PA19
As I compare with Generic CDA strings, this is a Generic Phone
R1AA008 , Using Europe_3 with all european languages
CXC seems conform to what others show....

I do not seem to be able to update with SEUS, it says no update is needed ???? although I would prefer R1BC0002
Does anyone see a reason to why such an unbranded phone can not be updated ???? I want to be sure all USB issues are fixed and all is working up best ...
