Oh boy, it does look good!

Posted by Mad_Bob
It does look good, but have you seen this version...

Civic Type R

Posted by Syrus_20
Yep seen the type-R, it is very slick!

Problem..well type-r is alotta cash or would have waited..and, well insurance is gonna be alot more expenisive... on the normal one the insurance is dirt cheap for what it is thats why i was thinkin of changing

Posted by scottt
Sheeeesh , bet that type-r looks extremely sweet in black

Get the normal Civic for the time being and maybe part-ex it for a Type R when it comes out (if you can afford it). Or just get a Type R style body kit for the standard one.

Its a nice car but why did Honda decide to not include a rear wash/ wipe on it? Every other car in its class has it.

Posted by Syrus_20
They say that the rear window is very slick so water runs off it, and the lil window below the spoiler is treated with something so that water doesnt stay on it at all

Thanks for the suggestions, appriciate them

Last Q: Think its worth getting this than any other car?

Have you had chance to drive one yet?
Would you go for the petrol or diesel?

I was lucky enough to drive both before it was launched and was very impressed with the car especially the 2.2 Diesel model.

I would definately go for this car over any others in its class.

I seen one of these in the street (regular version) and it really wasn't to my taste. I do like the new accord though. If i'd get a car like this i'd much prefer the new A3 or Golf.

@tom - yep have driven both the petrol and diesel. Gotta say was impressed with the diesel, crazy unexpected power, really got chucked back into the seat when i floored it! Torque is double in the diesel than the petrol lol, seems more powerful. But not a big fan with diesels as it is so if i do get one, will have to be the petrol. Only thing thats gonna p*ss me off is when the type-r comes out!

Howd u manage to drive one of these beasts before it was released?

@kk - A3 is really nice buuuut its about 5k more expensive if i include all the features id get with the civic not to mention a lower litre... civic got 1.8 vtec, A3 is either 1.6 or 2.0 :/ Havnt had the chance to check out the golf properly, will do soon

Cheers for the input fellas

The yellow one looks COOL, but small !

Not a Jap Crap car fan!! I do appreciate them coz they make them German cars soo much better!!

I did like the '97 Vtec version the best, whats the power output on this thing?
Not a GTi/A3 contender in my books! Maybe it can play with them little Runxs

Saw one today in black. Still thinks it looks great. Would defo get one if I were you.

@Syrus_20
I was able to drive them before the launch as my dad was invited to test them with one other person for some reason!
Here is a couple of pics of the cars, firstly the diesels lined up at the hotel and then the two petrols on my drive at home Mine and my dads (well for the day at least!)

From what I can remember I didn't have any problems seeing out the back.
You can defiantly see ok through the rear view mirror.

I would love one to! I'm only 17 though so can't really afford it yet!

I have driven one and can confirm that the water doesnt run off very well. Reversing one in the rain is a real pain.
I drove a Diesel Civic and a Diesel Astra a couple of weekends ago and prefered the Astra. It was quicker and I prefered the handling. the Civic has the better dash though and think it looks a little bit better.
I would personally go for this Astra 888.:

It has a 200BHP 2litre turbo diesel and the body kit of the Astra VXR.

@scorpionking - I think Im gonna be goin for the Civic EX 1.8 Vtec petrol version. The dealers have got one coming in second hand..only driven for a month and are lookin for bout 17,000 for it...i can part-ex mine so shud get a good deal on it. Its fully loaded with the sat-nav and all that so its quite tempting

Would definately go for the type-R but still got about 9 months to wait till its released plus its probably insurance group 17+ The one im lookin at is 10 Need cheap ass insurance lol, by the time i get it i'll only be 19 but with 3 yrs no claims !
