for those who have read all8's tutorial in optimizing your images for the t68i, i've made an .atn file (action file for photoshop) that does the hue/saturation, brightness/contrast and sharpness settings as per all8's specifications automatically. You can download it from here:
http://www.farlowstudios.com/wap/MethodT68i.atn
I'm planning to place all8's tutorial on my site, with some tweaks from myself, if all8 wouldn't mind.

For the benefits of the T68 users and esato, why not.

Ok, people, I've created the tutorial for all those wanting to know how to make t68 bakgrounds. Please do pardon me if there are areas you may have problems understanding. It's my first attempt (ever) to make a tutorial.
To all8, you have done a great tutorial, my friend, I just wanted to thank you for it.

Excellent!!
Thanks

when i started that post, it wasn't meant to be a tutorial...just slipped in some instructions in esato quietly hoping nobody will notice. That if one day my computer crashed, i can retrieve it somewhere in the internet . I was shocked one day when the post was listed as "sticky" --of couse without knowing what it meant at that time. I thought Laffen was about to ban me from ESATO
Dagger has done an excellent work to compile the tutorial for t68. i couldn't have done better myself.

yo dagger ole buddy, thanks for the tutorial

@nookiehunter,
Load Photoshop, load the action file into your Action Box. It'll only adjust the Brightness, Hue and Saturation, and Sharpness of your selected image as per the specifications of all8. You'll have to resize it yourself and save it as a gif to upload it to your t68i.
Posted by nookiehunter
ic, and if im not satisfied i could always fiddle with the adjustments myself ryt? cool.
Posted by nookiehunter
dude, the act file doesnt work with my version of photoshop. mine is 5.5
Posted by Dagger
@nookiehunter: Are you sure you load it right?

Ever since I got my t68i I've been tinkering with it and gotten to know a lot of stuff to maximize it's use, most I got browsing ESATO. So what else would you want to know?

Congratz dude! welcome to the club!

I usally save the picture in three different files, and then send them all to the phone, only saving the best one. One file is saved jpg. This one isn't converted to the t68 colors. The second one is the same but gif. The third is also gif, but this time I load the palette before saving. The pics usually look quite different from eachother being viewed in the phone, but it's hard to know wich one is going to look the best.

Another thing worth trying is using the unsharp mask also after the picture's resized (preferably with a small radius). This, and changing the contrast can make the picture looking more alive.

hey i tried this unsharp... its really useful enhancing your images
