I'm posting this on behalf of my boy-friend who is deciding to upgrade his contract on Orange and go to Orange Direct this time rather than the Orange Shop as they offer better deals on tariffs. I've recently upgraded with them and got a W800i. I prevously owned a Sony Ericsson T610.
He is currently in a dilemma in which handset to choose and has his eyes set on between the Nokia N70 or 6880. He has read and compared the features plus reviews on both phones on the internet which have different reactions for both from other users/owners. He is still isn't sure which one he should go for. He would like to know 1st hand from users on here who own these phones how they are like, they perform, S/W problems etc. He currently owns a Nokia 6600.

Well i bought my 6680 today and i think its great. The only thing up to now that bugs me is the camera slider because it creaks abit, but it does this on the N70 as well.
My friend has the N70 and its basically the same but iv noticed since the body is plastic, the body was warn alot more than the 6680 which used to be my friends and he had it for several months.
The only differences are radio and the camera.
Need to know anything else on the 6680 let me know

I own 6680 and i never had a problem with it, imo they are basically the same with n70 the only thing that differs is the camera and the radio, ram, and internal memory. They are both winners! c",)

does the extra RAM of the N70 make a difference with speed? i got a 6680 out of curiosity since i haven't had a nokia for years and it just amazes me how much time you spend waiting for it to process anything, especially opening the media gallery! and i'm only using 80mb of a 256mg MMC card! jeez....

i would definitely go with the N70. it's UI is ugraded - its 3D - icons same in 8800. 2MP camera. etc. Go for an N70.

The 6680 is a nice poor's man alternative thou. Both are winners - if you want and know what a 'smart phone' is/does. By the simple fact that your friend does not post or enquire himself about the features/qualities shows lack of interest/will to use a smart phone. Greetings from South Africa. Mario :-)

n70 would be my choice. the keypad of the 6680 is sad. the n80 will be out this month too.

Why go for the 6680 which is a downgrade compared to the N-Series. The N70 wasnt enough for me but but it is better than the 6680 all day.

my mum just got an N70 and step uncle has the 6680 ... i prefer the look of the 6680 but the N70 is better

If he has fat fingers go for a 6680. N70 keys are tiny. N70 is slower than a 6680. Both will have the stupid orange home screen and be ruined.

I just got the N70, 5 days ago . . . I just did NOT like how the camera performs, the radio/mp3 sound is GOOD ! The keypad is NICE too ! Better put the Samsung D600 model in your choices mate . . . Good Luck!

My boy-friend finally upgraded yesterday! Got some the same tariff as me and decided to go for a Nokia N70 which was free. Glad he has sorted it now plus it will reduce his phone bill dramatically!
