those are my choices, Im going to see a film with the mrs tonight and were stuck between the 2, what do you guys recon?

Posted by joebmc
Munich 100%

Aeon is a poor mans matrix

Although munich is pretty long (164mins) but it is very good.

Posted by Luke-the-magic-man
yeh saw the length of it and though balls, i duno they both look good, and my dad said aeson fleux was good, but munich has stephen speilberg and a more interlectual story

Posted by pmerryman
Munich is a very political film, so it depends on the Mrs really, does she like this sort of film. It is very good though, and worthy of the long run time.

Posted by joebmc
The the only good thing about aeon is charlize theron wears a lot of tight leather. Bad thing jonny lee millers in it!

Munich is pretty deep, very well done.

Posted by ASM
Munich. Aeon Flux is appauling

Posted by amnesia
Aeon Flux.
I haven't watched either but friends said Flux is unique.

Munich is getting a LOT of positive reviews from my friends . . . Syriana is GOOD too, they will be watched this week at my room - DVDs. As I've just seen King Kong (late viewer here . . .) and I can say that it's REALLY good! How I wish that they GOT Heather Graham instead of Naomi Watts !

Posted by Xugaa
Munich 100% also. great film, but very long, thats a good thing though

^^
KING KONG... yep agree, the remake is one of the best films i have ever seen...

Posted by Luke-the-magic-man
king kong wtf? it was way to long

and I saw aeon fleux, but it was pretty bad, now I will see munich soon

Posted by Xugaa
^perhaps, but i didn't mind. the story and visuals were so mind blowing that i just didn't care.

it recently won the best special and visual effects film award.

stick to original lenght? the 1st was about 1 and a half hours

Posted by *Jojo*
Yup, King Kong is very good! Just imagine watching 2 movies in ONE! King Kong itself plus, Jurassic Park 5 ! The computer-generated-moves of King Kong was excellently done! Specially the scenes where he was holding Naomi on her hands etc.

@luke - Syriana is good too!

Posted by axxxr
I dont want to see Munich...its to biased towards the Israeli's,..its nothing but glamourising a bunch of inhumane hitmen who were out to get revenge.

I'd much rather watch charlize theron in that tight suit, even if the film is crap!

Posted by Luke-the-magic-man
id watch munich over aeon fleux, seriously axxxr it was shite it was basically the matrix, the island and, equlibrium in a ball. Murich maybe about a bunch of glorified hitment getting revenge, but its probally shot very well as its by speilberg, the onyl reason why i didnt see it was my gf didnt want to be home to late + the reasturant served late

Posted by axxxr
I can see your point....better to watch a quality Spielberg movie than some poor flick.

but i have strong political opinions and such incorrect accounts of history portrayed in Munich just puts me off.....spielbergs lowest point i think.

I heard syriana is better.

No shit lol.

It maybe better, but I havent gotten round to seeing it, or munich either, but then again you may look a t a film from how correct it is, I will look at a film from a media point of view on how well it is shot and acting etc

Posted by blackspot
I will watch Aeon Flux just because Charlize Theron is there!

I prefer to watch intellectual/political movies at home so I can pause it whenever my GF starts asking questions.

Posted by JK
Munich was not good at all! It dragged and dragged... very slow.
Stephen shoulda done better I think.

Posted by brix25
@axxxr: I absolutely enjoyed Munich, it's actually not as biased towards the Israelis as I thought before watching it. Spielberg poses serious questions about the Israeli state and their constant need for revenge. I think what he is saying is that violence has made both sides inhumane.

Thus far it's the best movie I've seen in 2006- mind you we're only 7 weeks into the year.

Lets not talk about Aeon Flux, if a movie is so widely panned then I ain't seeing it- it should've gone straight to video.

Posted by Luke-the-magic-man
serioulsy do not watch aeon fleux its pointless I must say I was not kept up in my seat alot of the time my mind was else where and I achually started analysing the film from a media point of view lol

I want to see munich now, as it does look good, but not sure to see it in the cenima or not as its a bit long

Posted by haynesycop
Neither go and see date movie if you haven't seen it it is really funny.

go see Munich.. king kong is sooooo over-rated...

i got bored watching it...

Posted by scotsboyuk
There really isn't anything on justnow thatI desperately want to see. I shall wait for Superman.

Posted by joebmc
Your enjoy Munich much more if you go and see it as a movie rather than a political film.
I was not alive when the events happened, so had no real knowledge of it but thought it was a very well done film.

As for King Kong, great film the first time you see it, but I hate the film, i've had to show it about 25 times, that’s almost 4 whole days taking away from my life!

Me too! (another film i will watch with no real view on)

What about Dick and Jane? It wasnt bad.
Also @ all Munich fans, have any of you watched Lord of War?
Now that was a good movie!!!

Posted by joebmc
Lord of war... aint that woth nick cage about an arms dealer?

Posted by brix25
Yeah Lord of War was good satire...they actually shot parts of the movie in Cape Town.

I hope all the Roman Catholics protest and threaten to burn down cinemas when the Da Vinci Code gets released- it's just too blasphemous for my liking.

Posted by joebmc
To me its just a film based on a good book. And i doubt your see much protesting (everyone love's tom hanks )

Posted by brix25
Am I the only one who doesn't like Tom Hanks...I've seen a couple of his movies and he ain't worth all the hype. I did enjoy his role in The Ladykillers though.

Posted by scotsboyuk
It's not out in the cinema, but for anyone interested in WWII I would recommend Der Untergang (The Downfall in English). It's a film about the last ten days of the war as told from the point of view of the German High Command and those inside the Fuhrer bunker.

Posted by methylated_spirit
Yeah i've seen that, they show it on More4 occaisionally. Excellent film.

Posted by joebmc
I've got that sitting in my draw, just haven't had the time to watch it.

Good job you didn't then....

@meths

The actor playing Hitler (the first German speaking actor to do so) gives a stunning performance, the entire cast does in fact. It really is a film worth watching.

@axxxr

Yes it was rather; but if I had started choking I'm sure one of your political posts would have had me coughing and spluttering the pasta back out.

Magnetism I'd call it, since, like two magnets, your views and reality repel one another when brought into contact.

Bravo old chap....your getting good at this!

I think your your views are in par with a black hole...never sees any light!

Now now children

lol one way of putting it I suppose

fun with dick and jane was a good film I must say i did enjoy that one quite a lot definelty one of jim carreys best rols as hes not just making stupid faces all the time, but odd to see him in such a new role.

king kong was far to long and like 50C i got bored druing it, don't get me wrong it was a brilliant story and well done, but it to a ahour a a nice half to get to the island, lets face it thats stretching it out. Also one of the fight scenes with the big ass t-rexx's lasted 30 min which is stupid lol (got so bored started timing things)

I think brix you are the only one here who doesnt find tom hanks a brillinat actor, personally I think his perfomances are geious on stage and normally plays the roles very well.

I myself will be seing the da vinch code when it comes out, i loved the book and though it didn't follow it closly (i dbout it will have) am sure its going to be interesting film and well shot, I think ron howard is doing it? (ginger guy in happy days)

mi - 1 and 2 I though were piss porr definetly 2 of tom cruizes worst films, but I think I will see the 3rd one to as that one could be bettter, but it will also be interesting to see if they have made it any better then the 1st 2

Posted by axxxr
joebmc not to worry its just a bit of friendly banter between old chums...i think?

There are a LOT of nice movies to be released this year, YUP, Superman is definitely one of those! But I prefer waiting for the flick - Davinci Code (Tom Hanks) and MI-3 . . . there are rumors (perhaps TRUE!) that the sequel to Rambo IV is already in the works !
