@stef u forgot in your first post to mention the battery. imo, it needs at least 2000 mah batt for an accepteable usage, if u dont wanna charge the batt every single day. hopefully se is able to make one...
Posted by mcrosser
stef, I think I'm trying to make some multi function device that could do everything posible at the moment, just like T610 at it's time. but now there's soo much it's very hard. I'm gonna do like you suggest. make a phone just for music, another just for viedo/camera, another for TV and...why not? one just for calling and sending SMS
Posted by driftmania
with all these awesome features, can you possible imagine the cost of it? at least $600+!

i got my answer:
A DVD and video highlights package of the Standard Bank ODI series between South African and Australia – including Sunday’s thriller – is being produced and will be made available to the public soon.
This was announced today by Steve Elworthy, Commercial Manager of Cricket South Africa.
“The public interest in the series is huge, especially the world record-breaking thriller at Liberty Life Wanderers Stadium on Sunday which gave the Proteas a 3-2 series victory.
“We have been inundated with calls from the public asking for a highlights package of the series, including calls from fans in Australia and India.
“Production of the DVD has begun, and it will be available at popular retail outlets soon. Details will be made public as soon as possible.
“This will certainly be a wonderful keepsake of one of the greatest and most exciting achievements in both South African and world cricketing history”, Elworthy said.

Haha lol! No but now serious: I don`t think you should make a phone without a music player! Just don`t call it Walkman. And make just a Wseries phone with the same module as the K800 but don`t call it Cybershot!
Posted by mcrosser
Ok soooo, my first DVD phone !!!!!!! first of all, the big hit: 30 GB internal memory !! why so much you ask ?? well read on !!
The new (paper-prototype) Sony Ericsson phone, the D810 is the first ever model by this company to have DVD format support and a modest 3'' VGA resolution 16 million colors TFT screen to view movies in horizontal mode. In the package there comes an accesory that reads CDs and DVDs and plays the compatible files on the D810 or stores them on the internal memory at USB 2.0 full speed.
The D810 is perfect for watching movies on the plane in those long flights, or listening to music on the go.
It runs on Symbian 3.0 and therefore supports some powerfull aplications, an example is the document viewer, wich lets you view, edit or store office files, such as Word, Excel or PFD files.
sooooooo what so you all think ??? posible ??

OEWH! Nicee! Really a great phone! And possible to I thinK! Go on, and make more beautiful phones. I`m ill for 3 days already so I don`t think many from my side.
Other people that would like to post their ideas, youre welcome!!

@mcrosser, great designs.
the seperate DVD accessory makes it cumbersome for daily usage. you could make the phone a little thicker and attach the DVD Acc. to it. this way it can be carried with all the times.
just my thoughts...
Posted by ambyzown
That would make the phone as wide as your standard DVD. Imagine yourself holding the pack of your King Kong DVD to your ears. Definitely "un-cool"
Posted by mcrosser
yep. the phone with the accesory outside keeps it as thin as a W950
@private. for daily usage, the 30GB should be more than enough. you can pass your favourite movies to the phone so you don't carry around the accesory. It's main point is to watch new movies you just bough to see if you want to move to the internal memory or not. Same goes for music CDs, you choose the tracks straight from the CD.
cheers

Wow, that looks like the 6260.
Posted by mcrosser
inspired on this REAL Cyber-Shot model:
I present to you: K850!!!!
This camera phone has complete imaging features, such as:
-4MP CCD lens
-3x optical zoom
-xenon flash
-auto focus (multipoint)
And also some nice camera support specs:
-1GB internall memory
-M2 compatible
-2,2'' TFT screen
Something eye-catching about this model is the body, made of ultra-polished anodized aluminium. The D-pad is like the arrows in the original camera. The numeric keypad is very easy to use and most of all: comfortable.
On the left side there is a cover that slides up to reveal the battery, M2 stick and SIM card. I needed to place it here to keep the back of the phone very smooth!!!!!
There is also a black version, but the original is metal silver.
On the phone side of view, we have all the things we can expect from a high-end Sony Ericsson, including Bluetooth, USB 2.0, HTML browser, complete media player, etc.
Not bad eh ??

Other standard things are:
-470MB internal memory
-512 MB M2 stick in package
-QVGA screen TFT
-Razr-like keyboard
-really loooooooooong battery life
-other basic features (MP3, Bluetooth, etc.)

Who MC! That`s a proffesional phone! I like it very very much. Only one question: What about the screeN: resolution? Colours? inc?
Further its a great phone!
I`ll hope I can make some time this weekend to post my handy cam phone.
Posted by mcrosser
Well ok, I was sleepy when I posted, so I had to do it quick.
The camera can also take picks up to 1.3 MP resolution. The lens is CCD and it also has auto focus. The backlight of the keyboard is white. and the recording button has a red backlight.
The screen is QVGA 262144 colors TFT. When in video mode, the numbers work as shortcuts to all video functions.
It has support for the most common formats in the media player, including Atrac3plus. Also supports A2DP profile.
Videos can be recorded in VGA, QVGA or QQVGA resolution, in AVI or 3gp format.
Bluetooth 2.0 class 1 up to 100metres (you can choose between 10 and 100 metres, to save battery power)
Supports wi-fi and EDGE. It's Quad-band too.
oh I can't think of anything else at the moment. Perhaps my next model will be better. Until then, cheers.

Posted by mcrosser
hey stef, some posts before I put a picture of a Sony camera with 3x optical zoom in a tight package. my sister has that camera and its not thick at all, just as think as a regular phone, so it's possible. I don't like much super slimm phones though, I prefer the ones with 'flesh' if you get what I mean!
Posted by mcrosser
this is my thin slider phone people !
what can I say ? it's jus a concept design. cheers
Posted by driftmania
looks awesome, kind of reminds me of the samsung phone that looks like a calculator. xD
Posted by Tehy03
Well, I really hope that this would be true!
Posted by Stef
Nice work MCrosser!
I like the whole desing and its very slim!
Only the d-pad/ keypad is a little bit weird,, further it is perfect!
Posted by bluechips
those sketches are remarkably amazing and great..
i sometimes sketch my own phone...
but yours guys are really work of art and great thinking....
Posted by SexPest
that desing would end up being slide - with that shape would be a great slide phone

Posted by mcrosser
where are the buttons ??!!! haha, looks neat !! maybe I should start doing this too ? cheers !
Posted by Stef
haha, coming soon!
and no! it`s madness.. don`t do it in paint. I`m working on it for 16 hours already!

Update:
A very kind *girl*friend of mine has mad a animation of my phone..
The intention is great, but she had understood me wrong, have a look for your self:
http://img325.imageshack.us/my.php?image=animatie0tt.gif
Enjoy...and by the way: The pic reveals allot of the phone. It`s almost the end desing ..so : Cheers!
Posted by Stef
Nobody is intrested in what i`m doing? That`s sad..
Well I think I dont have to finish it then
Posted by mcrosser
hey don't say that huh, the animated pic looks cool, but it opens up to much I think haha. Maybe you shouldn't use many straight lines, it looks better a bit curved, take a look at the images from SE phones done in photoshop. there are no lines. there is some feature in Corel Draw to take away the outlines. cheers and good job!
Posted by vrl29
wow, those are pretty good pics of a concept cellphone. maybe you should try to coordinate with the
designers; who knows, your idea would someday come into production... Posted by Mr. SE
I`m back! With a new user name.. my previous name was Stef but that account was down..so I`ve made a new one. And also a new sketch! Tell me what you think 'bout it!
Posted by mcrosser
wow Stef is that really you ?? wellcome back
Cheers

OK!!! so on my last post before 500
Next, we have the improved camera: 5 Megapixels , autofocus 3x optical zoom and CCD sensor
on the side, the most important thing to note, for those who suffer everytime they change their M2 cards, now it has a sliding cover, wich you'll find heavenly helpfull
Amongst other things, we find the A and B buttons, wich are now transparent and also double as service leds. They also blink white when starting the camera aplication.
We can find a QVGA 2.2" screen with a nice keypad below
Finally, some of the specs:
-128MB internal memory expandable with M2
-QVGA 2.2" screen 262,144 colours
-5 Megapixel CCD camera, autofocus and 3x optical zoom
-Xenon flash and two led diodes.
-Active lens cover
-Typical
stuff (menus, radio, java, etc) all with the quality one should expect from a
flagship phone -Long battery life ( 8 hours talk time and 400 hours standby time )
and lastly, the sketch
Posted by shaliron
@mcrosser
Nice one
Posted by Mr. SE
mcrosser: Nice work! I would love to see the sketch worked out in a 'real' version. A bit like all the sides of the phone. front, back, side (L and R) bottom and top. I really love the back design though!
I`ll post next year..
