just remove the camera shortcuts and its fine

Why do you think he should remove them? I think its fine on the two-way slider. It is exactly like my PSP phone concept of late last year.

but dont you think it will look thicker?

What I hate about nearly all the Sony Ericsson phones that are released, the screen is not big enough to fill the phone, even on my k850 there are small channels down the side of the screen, and it really annoys me. I'm glad to see nearly all the draws don't have this, so I was wondering, is there a technical problem that phone companyies ned to do to get the screen nearly flush with the edge of the phone, cause the nokia n95 is nearly flush?

No no, its all functional and its a nice concept. It may be thicker, but it slides away to hide making the phone thin again when you're not using the shortcuts.

Thanks for the compliment, but I'm afraid its not that simple. Sony Ericsson are across the world from where I live. They'd expect qualifications too and I am studying Graphic Design, not Industrial Design which is what they'd want. Plus I am not finished my course yet. My highest qualification is Excellence in my last year of school in design, but I'm sure that counts for nothing. I may have some drawing skill and photoshop talent, but that doesn't count, qualifications do.

They won't choose to hire me, as much as I'd love for them to do so.

Cheers anyway buddy.

^^ I wonder what kind of flaw will it inflict on the usability of the camera mode, if that's the case where will the shutter button be placed?

Heya Oli!

Nice to see a fellow Design Student! Well, Graphic Design, that explains your rather talented tricks with your mark tools!

I'm Mr Product Design/Industrial Design

Where are you studying Dude?

I met Eric Ahlgren a few weeks back, he was at my Uni for a lecture, he really was a bit of a Star!

what is he doing (responsible) at the moment, i never really came across a design of him since the t610

@jack00

Hey Dude,

Eric was involved in the design of T650i (Naturally), and recently conceded his works on 'various other projects from Sony Ericsson'.

He is also credited as being the main inspiration behind the round buttons on the K810i, and so the T650i and the K850i!

Hey mate.

I am studying at Canterbury University in Christchurch, New Zealand. Design is part of the Fine Arts department so we are alongside painters, photographers, sculptors, etc. I would love to study industrial design, but there are few places in my country to do it, so I chose graphic design instead! Its not my first choice then, but its still pretty sweet!

You're lucky that you get people in for lectures like that! In New Zealand we are so remote and so small that we don't get any big names, just local people. Where are you studying?

Heya,

I see - but judging from your concepts on previous pages, you sure have some great drawing skills Dude - which is the most important thing!

I am a student at Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design, part of the University of the Arts London - and am here in Tokyo at the moment!

Its great though - I love my course!

Cheers mate, how about showing us some more of your talents? That car drawing you did in the sketches thread was awesome!
