Nero recode help! - Esato archive

Hi...i downloaded nero recode but when i run the setup file it says...tht in order to install it i have to have a Sony HMP device connected 2 my pc?
now wat duz tht mean? duz this mean tht i hv to hv a camcorder or anyother sony device in order to use recode? or have i downloaded the wrong version...can anyone help me out here?

Also can anyone tell me the ideal settings for recode...
