This message was posted from a WAP device

nop. i checked that already. there's no info on how we can reflash or upgrade the fw as well. i actually gave them '0' on their survey for customer support regarding that concern..

I have created a firmware overview page for this phone.

http://www.esato.com/board/viewtopic.php?topic=131325

Maybe you can pm me with your operator / CDA and firmware versions so I can update it.

Haven't heard anything yet here in our place... What about the upgrade firmware, is it already available thru SE support?

Posted by chili
W810 themes look great on the K610... Currently using "Orbit."

Posted by BobaFett
does the icons "vibrate" when u chosse one with the pad?

This message was posted from a E50-1

Posted by chili
@boba - Nope, no such vibration. Btw, Opera Mini hacked for K800 works on K610 too.

Posted by BobaFett
yeah, i tested that too, but the fonts are way too big for my taste

Hi, I just got the SE k610i 2 days ago and i just turned it off and went to turn it back on again but the fone wont turn on now, all it does is a little red lite flashs wen i push the button,
Does any1 no what the red light means or can help me?
thx

Posted by night_66
Try to remove the battery for 5 minutes, then turn it ON, if it doesnt work its means something wrong, take it to the place u bought it from and show them that problem, otherwise go to a service point and fix it ..

But one more thingy to ask you, is the battery fully charged ? cause the RED flash is telling your battery is DEAD !! need to be charged ..

Hi again, i went to a fone shop today and the guy there said that by trying to update the software on my fone it actully deleted it and thats y i cant turn the fone on and the red light comes up went i push the on button.
Does any1 no how to put new software on the fone so i dont have to send the fone to SE because i dont have a back up fone and i really need it
thx

@adriano, pls tell us all the steps you took after you bought your phone, else no one here can advise you properly. @night_66 gave the right advice on the presumption that you did nothing to your phone. Blinking red light means low batt, and your K610 really won't turn on if the batt's too low. This is true w/ all SE phones. Did you indeed have an unsuccessful firmware upgrade?

Posted by *Jojo*
Chili - Congrats on your new K610i bro ! How's your K700i now . . .

Posted by night_66
Actually i didnt like that function in my previews W810i !! it was slow and not stable when use Orbit theme and the other cool themes in W810i .. i guess it need more CPU speed to manage it ..

I have recently bought a Sony Ericsson K618i for my my gf here at greenhills, san juan metro manila, philippines for only 13,000.00php complete with a 256mb M2. to top it all off, I also bought an original hpm-70 walkman in-ear headset for only 900.00php. Overall, I like the features of k618i. except that it doesnt have a radio, it doesnt have autofocus. And i was kinda wondering why if you switch the camera to either 1Megapixel or 2 Megapixel mode, the zoom does not work in those said modes? does anyone have the same problem? you can only zoom whenever you're in the VGA mode or taking video clips. I find it a bit disappointing but I hope there is a way to fix it. Is there some kind of a software upgrade for it? or is it in the hardware? as for the flash, i can easily buy an MXE-60. As for the radio, has anyone ever tried using the HPM-80 (W900i's standard radio walkman headset) on either the SE K610i or K618i where both have no radio? Is it compatible and did the radio work? please help me with my answers...

Posted by BobaFett
generally u cannot zoom in 2mp mode, only in lower ones

Posted by y@m0t!
@mafioso: k618i alomost has the same features as with the k610i. i just don't know if they are using exactly the same software. It will be best if you contact SE support to inquire for that.

@adriano: where did you get the software that you used in upgrading your phone?

Posted by BobaFett
what headfone comes with k618?

This message was posted from a E50-1

Posted by y@m0t!
Not specified on the documentations. But it also has the same list of accessories as what we can have for a k610i.

Posted by BobaFett
with my k610 didnt came even a normal headset.

Posted by y@m0t!
Yeah.. why don't they include the basic accessories for the phone. K610i only includes the usb cable.

Posted by BobaFett
indeed. that fone isnt a low end or middle one imo

This message was posted from a E50-1

Posted by y@m0t!
Maybe that's why they say 'we can't have it all'...lol. At least we have our freedom to choose..=)

I'd really like to change my wife's silver K610i to a red one, and I've asked a few SE Service Centres who say they can do it. It would involve the shell, battery cover, keypad etc. I just wonder while those parts seem straightforward, would they also change the backlight for the keypad. Surely if they do it the warranty should be ok?

Posted by BobaFett
the backlight is white in the red one

Posted by y@m0t!
Will they not exchange the whole unit? I mean, why do they need to change the shell, etc.? Why don't they just exchange the whole unit and just require for an additional amount for warranty of the new one?

Posted by BobaFett
i dont think they gave a new fone, just cos u wanna get anothet cover colour. they reaplce it if your one is faulty, but if its working fine, i doubt that se just give u a new one for a used one. warranty has nothing to do with it.

Posted by night_66
This F/W R1ED001 is now availble for unbranded K610i (Europe4) .. i just updated my phone ..

Posted by BobaFett
any advantage with it?

Posted by broadbean
The phone itself is fine. I just wanted a different colour to the one I got with the contract. I don't want to void its warranty, which is why I am having official SE Service Centres do the work. Haven't done it yet, still making enquiries.

Posted by y@m0t!
In that case, they will also need to change the backlight...

Posted by BobaFett
afaik if the leds are changed, the warranty is over, but if its made in se service its another story. might be to buy a new or light used red one would be cheaper then to rebuilt the fone

This message was posted from a E50-1

Posted by y@m0t!
Well, he said SE will be the one to make all the changes. So, the warranty still continue..

I'm trying to check the updates on my phone for the fw and it takes forever 'searching for update' until now. What's the best way to have that upgrade?

Posted by BobaFett
fota is not really working, let it flash in a service

This message was posted from a E50-1

Posted by y@m0t!
Oh, ok. What about the update service that SE has on their website, does it work?... Or do they have that latest fw available on their site?

Posted by voodoodoll
I did a update today from SE update service, i have a 3 branded K610i (red)

My firmware now states: R1EJ001

Posted by y@m0t!
@vodoodoll:

Hi! Welcome to the thread.. How did you do it? Did you use visit their website or did you contact their support? Do you think you can send me a copy of the firmware through my email add? tnx.

Hi..

I used SE online update software and the DCU-60 USB cable.
Works great!

I'm not sure how to get the firmware, it downloads directly to the the phone from the software.

Posted by y@m0t!
Thanks. What improvements did it make? I actually have a bug on my fone that it's loosing the keypad tone once I received an SMS or call. Do you also experience that on your fone?

Posted by simulacra
Weird thing is, the bugg when having a video set as ringtone the phone locks up and keeps the vibrator running aswell as the audio from the video is still there, not that I ever used the video as a ringtone feature, but it's kind of an showstopper bug...

Posted by BobaFett
whats your fw? is it a branded one?

Posted by y@m0t!
Have you also tried using that feature Bob?

Posted by BobaFett
no, i never use video for calls, but older fw or a branding, sometimes a downloaded game or app, can cause really weird things
