When you connect the USB cable to the K610i .. you get 2 options in your phone display to choose between !!! File Transfer or Phone Usage ..
If you choose File Transfer .. the Memory Stick will appear as a Hard Drive in your Explorer ..
If you choose Phone Usage.. it will just work as a normal phone with the Sony Ericsson File Manager ..

Well i had Z800i .. i could see an option to format the MS .. but when i bught a W800i .. i noticed that option was droped !! and the K610i doesnt have it either ..
I wounder what do you want to do with that option ?? you can do it through your computer !!

Well i had W800i and i had NO format option .. i guess there is some different between my firmware and your´s guys .. but anyway we talk about K610i right now and NO i could not find any Memory Stick Format option yet ....
And by the way, the latest firmeware out is the first release

I went to the Service point to check out that FORMAT option !! they took my phone and updated the firmware .. !! now the FORMAT option availble !! and the firmware # still same as the first release !!

I've never done an over the air update but you'd have to assume that in the same way that the online update protects itself against disconnections by not starting the firmware update until the update data is fully downloaded, the OTA must do the same.
I keep checking on My K800 to see if there is an update available as I'd like to experience this feature

Hi guys ..
I tried to update my K610i F/W through SEUS .. i downloaded the application for Service Update, then installed it ..
After that i ran it on .. but its keeping showing me the start screen of the launcher and nothing happens !! its keeping repeating the whole time I restarted my PHONE and my COMPUTER many times .... i wounder what´s wrong ?? it worked before veyr well .. i updated my previews W800i once before 2 months ago .. but now is not working .. anyone have the same problem ??

well, after playing with the k610i for 2-3 weeks i finally conclude that the k610i is a great semi-budget phone which se has ruined thanks to their stingy attitude when it comes to build quality.
as for the ota updates it's a scam...i have had the w900i since january '06 & it still tells me that i have the latest firmware...same goes for my 2-3 months old w810i & 2-3 weeks old k610i.

can any one help me. ive just got a k610i on contract with '3'. da phone is wkd but i cant say much for the branding of the phone. everywhere you go theres a 3 sign or something annoying. and the menu looks rubish too. is there any way i can get this removed??

Well - guys: I received my K610 30 minutes ago. It's on charge now and I'm desperately waiting the next hour to pass...

Here are my first impressions:
1. Build quality, feel: The phone is very slim and light, but still it feels very solid. Exactly what I wanted. So far I'm very pleased with the build quality. Only time can tell how solid it really is...
2. User interface: I'm used to the Z800 and so the difference is not that big. But all the nice effects, scrolling, transparency etc. are really fancy and still speed is very snappy.
3. Camera: ok, it's 2MP and it doesn't have autofocus. Unfortunately we have heavy rain here right now and so it doesn't make sense to take any shots under this conditions. I didn't buy the phone for it's camera, it's ok to have it with me all the time though...
4. Keyboard: the keys are fairly small - which isn't a problem for me. The feeling is good and typing goes well.
5. Browser: My Z800 already had UMTS, so the speed is about the same. But the browser is a quantum-leap! Landscape-mode, zoom, full-screen and smart-scaling etc... Really great and useful features. And because of the Clear-Type style fonts the readability of texts is very good, despite the small size. I'm very impressed!
6. RSS: this is absolutely great! I scheduled two of my favourite channels to update two times a day. Very handy...
So far I'm very pleased with the phone. I now will wait and see about talking- and standby-time and speech quality etc.

I'm using a video that took by the K610i it self as a Video Ringtone, but when i get a missed cal, the phone won't stop vibrate!
What should i do now? it's really bug me.... my battery is drain out so fast (T_T)

i installed opera mini, but the the text is so much bigger then in w800 for example, in w800 was more comforteable to view that. i tried to set text size to small, but then its impossible to recognise, its so tiny.
