I have to s60 version of Rok player...i guess there's a java app too..?
Posted by Davo_169
imagine the GPRS rates being racked up uising that...wouldnt be worth it at all :S
Posted by whizkidd
@davo, it wouldn't be such a bad deal for some of us in india because of the cheap gprs here...
Posted by jcwhite_uk
The list of channels looks limited. Lets hope they add some more channels soon.
Posted by batesie
that would cost a lot via 3G services in the UK!
Posted by batesie
and it doesnt list the W900i as a supported phone
Posted by Pepi
so u can watch tv on your k700? am i right?
Posted by axxxr
No the k700 is currently not supported according to the site.
Batesie: I don't know why the W900 isn't listed it should quite easily be compatable?
Supported Handsets Currently are only: D750i K750i K600 K608i W600i W800i
Posted by brix25
Any chance of us getting the UIQ version of this?
EDIT: Ok, my bad, checked out the site and the P900/910 is supported.

well i just saw it on the pictures and...anyway gprs here is too expensive for me to afford anything like that
Posted by BobaFett
thought only umts system is that fast to support watching tv.
Posted by Pepi
yup i thought so too. it's kinda surprising "discovery" for me
Posted by brix25
What's the frame-rate like over GPRS, if it's anything like the streaming tv I watched a some months ago on the K600.
Posted by jmcomms
I have asked why the W900i isn't listed, as it must work (you can easily adjust the screen size to emulate a W800/K750i if it can't scale to the QVGA display).
If anyone can download it for a K750/W800 and obtain the JAR, then I'm sure it will work on the W900i!

TV Bump!
I thought this might be a good place to keep all info and links concerning Mobile TV as interest has grown somewhat since the K800i made its appearance.
So, any links to mobile TV sites 3G or otherwise then please leave them here.
The following is a norwegian site and it has a link to
BBC World Direct

Just been watching BBC World news full screen on my W900i. 11 minutes of TV used 2.4mb of data. Sound quality was good, picture was a bit laggy and blocky but all in all not bad for dipping in to. Great with unlimited data tariffs. :-)

but whiz will you pay 10pounds(850 INR) for watching 13 channels on your mobile?
Posted by whizkidd
Manish, why not? We have "special" versions of ROK tv available here
Posted by Evil Eye
@whiz its 850 INR a month.
it turns out to be 10200 INR a year.
if u save that much amount of money, you can get a better phone for urself.

My service provider (Airtel-Delhi) provides 2 free channels Aaj Tak and CNBC. The streaming is not that good. The pictures look pixelated and lag about 1-2 secs from the normal TV transmission. But I'm able to make out from the audio. Audio quality is 'satisfactory'.

We could do with some more TV links here actually.

@Evil eye
CNBC : rtsp://100.1.200.213/rtpencoder/cnbc.sdp
I'll post Aaj Tak's link in this space in a few days...as the link is not working in my mobile...

you can get more tv links from:
http://www.wwitv.com/portal.htm
Just copy the link in the green button and edit it out till it just shows the path. eg:
Bigpond tv: javascript:listen('http://www.bigpondtv.com/','http://wwitv.com/w_tv/b1584.asx',0)
Edit it out till you get:
http://wwitv.com/w_tv/b1584.asx
Open the asx file in winamp and then press alt+3 and then you'll get the mms:// or rtsp:// address of the link. In the above example it would be mms://wmt.streaming.telstra.com/ucs-wh_chiefe0live10
I don't know of an easier way of doing this, so enjoy
Edited.

Anyone have any other British or American TV links...
Posted by belialwafu
I saw a chinese brand phone uses an antenna to watch TV on the phone...I hope SE does it w/o the interference of the sim company
Posted by goldenface
Well as long as you have a phone that can stream video through its media player then anyone can get streaming 3G TV.
Posted by aatuif
Any update on tv on SE's...
Some free links or apps...

i dont understand this shit man
ant no1 got a .JAR app that u can
wach tv on.
and uno the vodafone tv when iv
got that sim card in how do i get
onto the tv because i dont have the
vodafone firmware because my fone
is unbraded k800
Posted by goldenface
I don't think you can access Vodafones TV without a voda branded phone so you would have to rebrand your phone to Vodafones fw.
I couldn't access t-mobile's TV without rebranding my K850i to t-mobiles fw.
RokTV have an application you can watch TV on but the choice is small from what I can see.

I've been using this site for a while. It lists loads of free TV stations from around the world. All you need to do is find the media links on the website and load them on to your phones media player.

I have mobile TV on my k810 but the connection is too laggy.. i can't see the tv/video streaming without it stopping each every 6-8 seconds.. not sure if it's any configuration or if it has something to do with network signal (but it shows max signal anyway as well as 3G).
Posted by kosmiker
Forget my last post, is working ok now. Don't know what happened.. maybe was a problem from the service provider or I've just messed with the settings without even noticing it lol
Posted by shafrazs
Try
http://www.mobilestreaming.tk it has some good links which work well on my k810i.

Excellent, thanks.
