I know, that made me wonder aswell, but i'm using a 2G SIM in it and that works.
Don't have a 3G SIM Handy, but i can't imagine it's a 3G phone.
Then again, who knows.
Maybe this baby is a RARE 3G Prototype...

I believe the R520 UMTS proto was A) nicknamed VALENTINA and B) it's UMTS was to test speeds rather than video calling itself.

There are 3 r520, copper, silver and the never released le mans, with the white line on the frontcover. Cant see the pic, might be its that green one, what e-man has as umts version. Then i was wrong.

I don't think it's the Le Mans.
This one has got PROTOTYPE written along it's sides and UMTS at the bottom below the Keypad.

They are indeed just scratches.
The phone is at SE in Lund for a cleaning and to see if a friend of mine can find some old software they used during the evaluationprocess.
I'll have it back on friday and i'll answer all questions by then.
