many have probably read the "Internet Explorer 7 beta 2, Avalbile to all to download." thread and given it a go. I did and am getting to like it, so thanks for that
but now PCWorld have reported that the first IE7 bug was found after just 15 minutes.
An independent researcher needed just 15 minutes to find the first bug in the Beta 2 preview release of Microsoft's Internet Explorer 7 browser.
Tom Ferris, of Mission Viejo, California, published his findings just hours after Microsoft released the beta code. His findings are posted online.
mind you, lets NOT forget this is still a beta before we go MS bashing

I really do hate people who use Firefox because they follow the "hate Microsoft for no reason" crowd!
A perfect example in the artical here:
"Workaround:
Mozilla Firefox
"
SHouldnt the workround be to downgrade?

i wouldnt bother downloading the beta ie7, its kept deleting my history and cookies.

That's a very easy bug to fix. Besides, what is beta testing for? Also, that bug wouldn't cause Vista to crash which is the platform that IE7 has been developed for. The XP version was started several months after the original Vista version. Even though Vista is backwards compatible with XP software, some M$ software including IE7 is optimised for Vista. The XP version is quite a bit different.

microsoft really should uses more alpha testing before they do a load of beta testing

What can I say; Firefox rules!!!
Also installed this beta version and to me it looks more like a rip-off from Firefox, yet Microsoft then still cannot get the tabbed browsing right. I can't even customize the browser to look and do things like I want to.
Firefox rules! (BTW did I say that before?)

they just wanted to take credit for finding a bug, I found a dozen before it was released

For goodness sake, firefox does not 'rule'!
And before you all start flaming, yes I have used it, for over two years and whilst it has many welcome features it makes a very poor job of handling the 'standards compliant' web pages that it's supposed to handle so much better than IE!
CSS support is sketchy and even simple cookie handling is dubious to say the least! Do yourself a favour and use Avant browser if you hate IE that much. It's a stripped down version of the IE engine with a much, much better front end including all of the bells and whistles that firefox has. It's a LOT faster than firefox and more importantly, it's fully compatible with both the latest web standards and the quirks of IE that the majority of web developers code for.

I have to agree with you.
I have been using avant browser for a very long time and even now, with IE7 beta installed, I'm finding the old ways are still the good ways

I hate the memory leak bug of firefox but I hate IE for it's security problems and I hate opera for it's way of handling downloads, so what do I choose ...

Yo hotheads, I'm not slagging Microsoft off, after all they're paying my rent...
I also have Avant installed on my machine, but out of the 3 browsers I prefer Firefox to IE and Avant - personal choice. I dont really care about any of the alledged security issues that any of these browsers may or may not have as I think its all over-rated. Sure, every browser has its flaws, for instance I cannot use Citrix with Firefox or logon to my Bank account with the new IE; My company OWE opens funny in Avant....
There is no such thing as a perfect and faultless browser. At least you have the option to choose one that suits your needs. I would rather say if you're afraid of security issues regarding any browser, stay away from dodgy sites.
PS. Firefox still rules.
If the memory leaks, but a bucket under the box or call a plumber.
Here's something to keep you awake at night

I use Firefox for two reasons; I think it's a good browser and I support Open Source.

@Uncle Bob
M$ pays my rent too, we never see any Macs in the workshop
Getting back on topic though, I think we might be surprised with IE7 on Vista. M$ are not rushing this OS out as quickly as they have done with all of their others. Sure, there's going to be bugs but I don't think we're going to see the massive security flaws (MSBlast, Sasser etc.) that we did when XP was first released.
And as
users, we should be used to a few bugs in a new product Posted by Krubach

Should read:"I like freebies"
Do you pay Mozilla? Because that is the support that matters.
Back to topic.
Firefox is not bug free too...
http://www.mozilla.org/projec[....]ity/known-vulnerabilities.html
And these are just the ones detected and corrected (many of them CRITICAL), God knows how many still exist ...
People just love to say "M$ has bugs all over it" but Open Source has them too.
Besides, it's BETA, you should read the big-text-about-license-agreement-that-i-never-bother-to-read-because-there-are-too-many-letters-and-i-don't-give-a-damn-about-what-they're-saying.
