How to Fix a Dead Pixel on an LCD Monitor

If your LCD screen has a dead pixel, it's usually stuck because the liquid in the liquid crystal display (TFT LCD) has not covered the whole screen. This can be easily fixed....don't know if this works for sure but i have read that it does!

Steps:

Many people report success with this technique but these instructions won't work in every case.
These instructions will fix "stuck" pixels, not "dead" ones. Dead pixels appear black while stuck pixels can be one constant color like red, green or blue.
An alternative, but similar technique involves gently massaging the stuck pixel on your screen.
If these instructions don't work, you can hopefully get the monitor fixed through your manufacturer.

or you can just run a pixel fixer program. The program basically flashes, red, blue, green, black, white colours and the pace stimulates the pixel.

The flashing colours didn't work for me either. I ran the mp4 for about 12hrs... I might try the pressure idea, one problem I have is that my fingers are much larger then a pixel so how can I only apply pressure on the one pixel?

does'nt matter about your finger size...just apply pressure to the pixel area.

if you press to hard you can leave a darker finger mark on the tft, trust it, it happened to a psp which was then returned because the screen was messing up lol.

A toothpick cut in half?

I think maybe a cotton bud might be safer to try.

Or a ballpoint pen, wrapped in a couple of layers of kitchen towel is what we've always used

It's a bit of an old wives tale, works maybe nine out of ten times at the best but I think more through luck than judgement.

By the way, don't switch the monitor on whilst you are pressing, if you press too hard while it's switched on you can cause temporary short circuits which could cause more dead / lazy pixels. get your pen pointing at the offending pixel while the screen is on, switch off the monitor, apply gentle pressure and gently move the pen in a circular motion for about a minute or so. Then stop and switch monitor back on.

If it's worked, count yourself very lucky!
