Can someone help me. I think something has happened phone or MS memory stick.

I decided to use my W800 on the PC via the USB cable. I installed the SE PC suite and Disc to Phone and after plugged it in. Straight away it recongised it, installed all the drivers and came up as a mass storage device. I was able to browse my phone and files as a mass storage device and also used Disc to Phone to transfer music. Once i finished transfering any files i always made sure i used the "Safely remove hardware" waiting till windows promted when it can be removed and then pull the phone out from the USB cable.

I had no problems since now. The problem occured after tranfering a wav file from the PC via the mass storage device. I done the same procedure as above regarding safely removing my phone from the PC. When i went to re-plug it back in, my PC now wont detect the phone or the memory stick as a mass removal device.
I'm worried that something may have corruped my memory stick. I got a feeling it may have something to do with that file i transfered as the name of the file was a bit funny "!!bedsprn.wav" but it didnt work so i deleted on my phone using the file manager.

I can still save things and browse on my memory card using the file manager on my phone, but its just that my PC doesn't want to seem to detect my phone anymore.

Can suggest what could have happened and how i am able to get my PC to detect my phone again?

Regards,

I've checked the rest of the phone and functions and they are working ok.
Like i said before i can save and view files that i have stored on the memory stick through the file manager without a problem so don't think the memory card is corrupted.

I switched off the phone off and left the battery out over night to see if that will help but i haven't tried plugging my phone back in the PC yet.

Do you think there could be a software fault with my PC/Win XP that causing the problem instead?

Ah, i think i may have found the problem. I decided to to un-install the SE PC suite and Disc to Phone software on my PC and re-install it but before i did that i plugged in my phone again through the cable to see if it would detect it and long and behold it did!

It must have been something to do with the SE software that somehow stopped the phone being recgonised but i don't understand how that could have happened as i had no problems with using both the software and phone together before.

Do you think i should try re-installing the software again?

I always install my software before plugging in my hardware, no matter what it is, just a rule I was taught when I was a junior at work.

@ JudgeJules: That's what i did. I have found the cause anyway. The wav file seems to be causing the problem which in turn stops the phone being detected after the file has been transfered to the phone and the phone safetly removed from Windows XP.
